The same reason Arron and his sons were baptized. So everyone could witness. These people who are washed are set apart by God, And this is their testimony.

John 1: [SUP]31 [/SUP]I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.” [SUP]32 [/SUP]And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. [SUP]33 [/SUP]I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ [SUP]34 [/SUP]And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

To testify WHO he is.

Why do you deny the baptism of Jesus in the HS?

Why would you want to replace that by men? Even John said he will baptise with the HS. Do you want Gods baptism? Or a washing done by men who need saved themselves?
How can a sinner wash you when his sins need washed?
Because there is one baptism that saves Eph 4:5, can you enter the kingdom with sin?

I was saved when I was baptized INTO Christ by the HS himself.

  1. Where in the whole Gospel, can you show me anyone but the Apostles, or the house of Cornelius was baptized by the HS
  2. Where does say anyone including the Apostles, or house of Cornelius were "saved" by the baptism of the HS

Peter says "water saves us" :

1 Peter 3:20-21 (NKJV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP]who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. [SUP]21 [/SUP]There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

yes, only one baptism!

now which one?

The one prophesied by John the baptist (he will baptize yo with the HS)

The one for told by Christ (you will be baptized with the spirit not many days from now)

the one witnessed by Peter (who was I to argue, that they were baptized with the spirit as we were)

the one taught by Paul (you were baptized INTO Christ (not water) You were baptized into his death and burial (not water) You were baptized with the baptism done without hands (spiritual circumcision or washing)

or the one which is to be done by men after one is already made a disciple?

I chose to follow the one done by and in the power of God. and not men.

As you can see, I do not deny anything. Follow scripture:

Matthew 3:13 (KJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

Matthew 3:16-17 (KJV)

[SUP]16 [/SUP]And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

No.

Peter says that water represents what saves us. It does not remove the filth of the flesh. it is another type, as the waters of the flood, which represented the true water lof life (the HS)

nor do I.

The verses you just posted proved what I just said.

Why not use the answer Jesus gave for the same question? John the baptizer asked why Jesus would have him Baptize Jesus and not the other way around :

Matthew 3:14-15 (NKJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?" [SUP]15 [/SUP]But Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed Him.

No, Peter said "water" not "HS"

1 Peter 3:20-21 (NKJV)

That is all about water, like water washed away the sins of the world, the "antitype" says water now washes away OUR sins, and to make is clear someone like you does not call this bath water, says "(not the removal of the fild of the flesh, but a good conscience toward God)", it is the washing away of "sin" that reconciles of God, and the washing is "in" the "water" putting us in contact with the cleansing blood of Christ.

 Acts 22:16 (NKJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'

yep, he did say water,

it represents what really saves us.

do you want what can save you, or just get you wet, but will not remove the filth of the flesh?

If you're calling this a baptism of HS, then you should be able to prove that in all 8 conversions starting with the day of Pentecost. (note I said "all 8") had a baptism of the HS

In reading much of this thread, I am amazed at how easily believers attack each other over doctrinal differences and speculative interpretations. To make my point, let me take a verse out of context:
1 Cor 14:33
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

If there is one correct interpretation of the Bible, it is definitely not clear or transparent to all.
Yet for anyone who speaks or teaches something contrary to someone else's interpretation is labeled a "false teacher".
By that definition, almost every teacher is a false teacher according to someone.

How can one really know if it is false teaching or not? The bible is the standard yet it is the Bible itself which is the cause of various disagreements to begin with.

If you're calling this a baptism of HS,
No,

I am calling this a baptism of Jesus, Where John was told. When you baptize this man, and you see what I tell you, this is he who BAPTISES WITH THE HS.

Why would God and John say jesus will baptise with the HS if it is not true?

They did.

How can you prove something that was not seen. Do you think we see the washing of God??

faith is the substance of things hope for. the evidence of things not seen.

Why do you want to place your faith in something seen?

How was I washed?

By the hand of God.

You want to be washed by men, Feel free. See how far it gets you. Yor body may get wet and feel cvlean, But your spirit will still be filthy and unsaved.

Can you enter the kingdom with sin?
No.

Who can cleanse you by the act of justification? By circumcizing your heart, By paying the price of redemption. God or man?

There are some hard verses in the bible, but those that are required for salvation are perfectly clear when read without putting man made doctrine along side of their bible, or in other words using some supposed learn man/men telling them what the bible really means.

the Devil himself is a scholar, he quotes scripture, he told Eve what God really meant.

One needs to stay in the bible, and the bible only, and pray for the wisdom James says God says he will give us to understand what we need to know :

 James 1:5 (NKJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP]If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Abraham was saved the same way we are.

The wisdom of men says men must work and trust in the work of men. The wisdom of God says trust him and him alone.

Abraham was saved by the blood of Christ, just like us, and how did you come in contact of that blood of Christ?
