first of all we cant compare addictive drugs like meth and heroin with pot. they simply arent the same. as far as alcohol, sadly its a part of our culture as it was in greco roman palestine. we have to learn to live with it and with gods help avoid the danger of drunkenness.

so by this logic, you cannot take any medicine either. pain pills, even Sudafed and other allergy medicines can be used to get high and make meth. so let's ban medication and make drug stores dens of sins in our eyes. carry your logic all the way out if you use these lines of thought.

No doubt...not to mention that NOBODY that has posted the truth in this thread has indicated that Jesus partook of the stupid things that are being implied...like coke, weed, crank or any other drug of like caliber...every idle word will be given account of in the day of judgment!

Since loneliness is one of the most painful of all human experiences, we are driven, consciously or unconsciously, to escape its pain. To do that many people pursue some type of consolation, emotional high, companionship, or warmth. Drinking is a behavior which can provide a certain warmth to the body. But It consoles temporarily. Drugs can also produce a high which will mask, for a period of time, the underlying sadness complex. Other behaviors, which are attempts to rise above the pain of loneliness, include chronic masturbation, pornography, compulsive television watching, sex, eating, shopping, exercising, smoking and playing games. If your gonna pour that glass of wine, What stops you from firing up the joint, Then why not snort a line of meth, Hey shoot some heroin. Where does it stop. The pot head say's well the Pope drinks wine whats the difference? The meth head say's well the pot head is under the pope and he says we can drink wine and so whats the difference. Might as well have an orgy while were at it.

You reminded of the song in rock in roll era ( "one thing leads to another" )

And I remember dirty harry in Magnum force at the end of the Movie while he walking away a statement he said

( " A man has got to know his own limitations" )

I think that holds true with many things, just as Paul said if you can't control yourself, marry better to fins a way to stay controlled than burn over what is not good for you

Personally for me I chose to not drink Alcohol and know I could just prefer not to, as I did enough from 14 to 27 to last me more than a lifetime. During that time if I was not drunk, I was not sober, I had to be drinking to be sober
Anyway, Kerry thank you and I appreciate you

there are those that can control it and have for many a years, hoping those respect you and how you feel over it
Love and patience to you Brother

Thank you maturity is important, if God will permit as one reads on through 6:6
Cool though and a man needs to know his own limitations and abide by them, trusting God to show him how to do that, knowing whether or not in moderation considering neighbor in how it effects him Or not all, which for me not at all

Yep that is how sneaky doing Alc. and drugs are they sneak right up on you and your body tolerates it and needs more getting one through their thoughts and are addicted before they know it

Not all can control themselves even in belief, some just need to leave it alone

Watch the enemy seek whomever he might devour and the battlefield is the mind. The lunatic is in my head thanks to flesh desire

No matter what each man need to know his limitations, you think. And man accuses and excuses his own actions and it leads many times to debauchery. time to pray and listen you will know what is best

I agree....not my wording and since when do we in English refer to someone as (IT)?

And.....Heretic means OPINIONATED in GREEK.....If someone one posts something that is contrary to the word and is mere OPINION then by default it is HERETICAL and the person quoting OPINION is a HERETIC....

Yes I know...we all have opinions!!!!!!!!
Let's see if heretic means opinion:
Greek Strong's Number: 141
Greek Word: αἱρετικός
Transliteration: hairetikos
Phonetic Pronunciation:
hahee-ret-ee-kos'

Root: from the same as <G140>
Cross Reference: TDNT - 1:184,27
Part of Speech: adj
Vine's Words: Heretical

Usage Notes:

English Words used in KJV:
that is a heretic 1
[Total Count: 1]

from the same as <G140> (hairetizo); a schismatic :- heretic [the Greek word itself].

From Merriam Webster Online:

1 :division, separation; also:discord, disharmony<aschism between political parties>
2
a : formal division in or separation from a church or religious body
b : the offense of promoting schism

Examples of SCHISM

  • a schism between leading members of the party
  • The church was divided by schism.

Origin of SCHISM

Middle English scisme, from Anglo-French scisme, cisme, from Late Latin schismat-, schisma, from Greek, cleft, division, from schizein to split — more at shedFirst Known Use: 14th century

Related to SCHISM

Synonymsconflict, disaccord, discordance, discordancy, disharmony, dissension (also dissention), dissent, dissidence, dissonance, disunion, disunity, division, friction, infighting, inharmony, discord, strife, variance, war, warfare

So a heretic is someone that causes division in the church body on purpose to split them into separating groups. Not once is being "opinionated" by itself the issue.

If we look at the whole thread, this would have never happened in the first place without somebody wanting to make a point about drinking even though they said they didn't drink in the first place!

Who's the schismatic (heretic)now?

Who's the schismatic (heretic)now?
Same word as 140 in Strongs...to choose or to make a choice...
141 Strongs...Schismatic

Titus 3:10-11 A man that is an heretic (schismatic or opinionated) after the first and second admonition reject: Knowing that he that is such is subverted and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Context-->People being contentious and arguing about foolish things such as genealogies, the law and irrelevant questions such as...

1. Did Adam have a belly button?
2. Who did Cain marry?

Stephen, I really don't care how much you attempt to...

1. Belittle me
2. Make me look bad
3. Ruin my posts/argue my posts
4. Repost everything that has been said
5. Get mouthy with me
6. Be accusatory against me
7. Belittle my education or my stance on the word of God
8. ETC...

DUDE, I don't care....have a vendetta against me, my posts and if you want you can even get a little voodoo doll if you so choose and I will still go to bed tonight, go to sleep and still get up tomorrow (LORD WILLING) ;) without being too concerned about the fact that you disagree with the OP and have been offended at certain clauses and words that have been applied unto your beliefs just as you have applied them unto my beliefs and stance...the difference between you and I is quite simply the fact that I am not easily offended and I quit singing (sticks and stones may break my bones) along time ago...like numerous years before I graduated High School.

So......take a long slow breath and exhale.....count to ten.....and.....take a long slow breath and exhale........

Now, having said these things...If I have offended you then I apologize.....

I agree this scripture is mis quoted many times. We must remember that we are Ambassadors and represent JESUS.
