Eve's and Adams sin was not eating the fruit in the garden of eden, it was not trusting the word of god. God knew once they had not trusted the word of god that they would fall. Without Gods guidance the world is hell. God knew the seed of mistrust would grow and evil had entered Adam and Eve.

It was both. Plus, for Eve, it was believing the lies of Satan even though she knew exactly what God had said. What's really amazing is that they had absolutely no excuse for what they did, and yet they made a mess for themselves and humanity. The Garden of Eden had absolutely everything their hearts could desire, but evidently that was not enough. And then they both engaged in the blame game. In the end they had to leave Paradise and come under a curse.

Right. What was the Word of God that they didn't Trust?
Surely, God has spoken more words than have been recorded in Scripture. The only part of His Word I can confirm that they disobeyed was
from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”” (Genesis 2:17)

As far as trust...
God did also say
“Then God said, "I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food (nourishment) for you;” (Genesis 1:29).

They may also have not trusted that God's provision was enough, and fell into Satan's temptation that they needed to consume more than what God had provided as their appointed food.

That's not bad at all . . . actually.

But why did Adam and Eve sin? To understand this, we need to know what Human Nature is. But wait, there are three Natures mentioned in the Bible: 1. The Sinful Nature 2. The Divine Nature 3. The Human Nature.

Human beings began in the Garden with their Human Nature only. When they sinned, the Sinful Nature was added to their Human Nature. When a person comes to Christ, the Sinful Nature is cut out (Col 2:9-15) and it is replaced by the Divine Nature (2 Pet 1:4).

So . . . what is the definition of Human Nature? Servant. A human with its Human Nature by itself is designed or created, to serve. What will it serve? Whatever comes along and tells it what to do. This human does not have the Guiding Holy Spirit to direct him or her in their ways. They do not have that internal "voice" to tell them what to do. And prior to their fall, of course, they did not have the Sinful Nature.

When the Devil came along, Adam and Eve were ready to serve. For if they were created to serve, why would they not serve Satan . . . doing what he tells them what to do? And that is precisely what happened. Without internal leadership from God, Adam and Eve did what Satan had told them to do. As a result, God Cursed all of the physical world . . . thus death and decay come to ALL things.

The remedy as per Holy Plan? The Tree of Life. Genesis 3:22-24 tells us that to remedy this Curse, Adam and Eve could have eaten from the Tree of Life, but God refused to allow that to happen, for the Tree of Life in the Garden is a pre-image of Christ on the Cross, and like the First Book of Adam and Eve states over and over, humanity would have to wait 5,500 years to be able to eat the fruit from that Holy Tree. And that Tree is Christ, as clearly described in the Book of Revelation.

Eating from the Tree of Life is the act of receiving Christ's Spiritual Circumcision, as clearly described in Colossians 2:9-15. Once that Curse is lifted from an individual Heart, that person will have been enabled to understand, believe, turn, and obey. This Romans 12:2v transformation takes place in a person's life because the Sinful Nature has been cut out and replaced by the Divine Nature . . . but the Human Nature never leaves, for that is the "engine" that causes a person to obey the new Divine Nature that accompanies the Human Nature.

We would all do well to learn about Human Nature and how vastly different it is from the Divine and Sinful Natures. They are all intertwined, and knowing them fully will help to unravel the Mystery of God's Holy Word.

Thank you for the theology. I was merely answering the question as to what aspect of God's word did they ignore. We only know of these 2 places God spoke to Adam before the Fall.

Oh, I see. And I was responding to what you wrote (because it didn't make any sense to me):

"They may also have not trusted that God's provision was enough, and fell into Satan's temptation that they needed to consume more than what God had provided as their appointed food. "

I think rather than impose some motive or lack there of upon Adam and Eve, I will stick with the narrative.
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

ADDRESSING the OP, I agree, for this was the whole reason for HIM, GOD, to come in sinful flesh to A. to REDEEM us & SAVE from our sins. supportive scripture, 1 Peter 1:19 "But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"
1 Peter 1:20 "Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,"

God knew that man would sin. hence now the GRACE of choice for all mankind. now that God has dided for the sins of the world, we are the new Adams of Choice.

yea Adam couldnt even say it was cos he was hungry, they had all the other fruit in the garden to eat. No excuse!
He blamed Eve, and Eve was tricked. The serpent got her to doubt the word of God.

Though not entirely unreasonable, this is complete speculation. God didn't tell Adam, "Trust me, or you shall surely die". After Adam and Eve ate the fruit, God didn't say, "Did you stop trusting Me?" No; God told him not to eat the fruit, and after he did, God asked, "Did you eat the fruit?"

I believe God knew after they had eaten the fruit that they had mistrusted God and that evil would enter there thoughts. That's why they were expelled from the Garden of Eden. The fruit was a test of trust.

I believe you have missed seeing how God's love is expressed in their expulsion, and I would encourage you to re-read the chapter until you do see it.
