I'm saying that ALL Christians KNOW they have the only truth.... but, somehow, it is not the same "truth" as the people in the church across the street. And Jesus didn't want this for us.
So it is our duty as Christians when there are opposing truth claims to search out Scripture on the matter rather than drop the truth in order to hold hands.

See? An automatic assumption that YOU, (we) not them, has the truth.

And if I was posting with "them", they would say the exact same words you just did.

Let's be realistic. Sometimes there is not going to be a meeting of the minds just because people sit down and look at the same passages, out of the same book.

Jesus told us we have to get past that.

You still can't see it, can you?

Everything you said is based on the idea that YOU (We) are right in interpreting the Bible, and THEY are wrong (Pick anyone for the "THEY".) With that kind of thinking, all we do is help Satan perpetuate division......... forever. Jesus told us to drop our pride, and don't try to stand on our own righteousness. And that is all it is... self-righteousness.... both sides KNOWING they are right, and swearing those other guys are wrong. With God shaking His head that we BOTH could be so wrong.
I guess Paul couldn't see it either. Romans 16:17

I mentioned the Lutheran Church. They see Communion as a gift, not a command or ordinance. Evangelicals usually don't have a clue when it comes to something like Maunday Thursday, but if they looked into the observance itself I don’t see what objection they'd have except much of it is done in rote. But then again much of what is done in our evangelical churches ends up ritual as well. Oh, these dry bones :)
Evangelicals celebrate communion, they just don't see it as having to being connected with Maundy Thursday.

Where did Jesus say "just get past that"?

The assumption is on your part. There is only One Truth unless you are going down the ecumenical slide saying all roads lead to the truth.

Right, but the whole Maunday Thursday thing isn't something to get into an ecumenical dither over, there are bigger fish to fry

Uh..... it would be found written that anyone can love a friend, but you guys have to do better, and love your neighbors who believe differently than you (The good Samaritan), and even your enemies.

I think I have it, and you think you have it. Which of us is right? Or could both be wrong?

I'm talking about putting the correct understanding of Gods Word into practice, not doughnuts! SMH
"Baptists uniting with a smorgasbord of faiths for Roman Catholic observances?" <-- your quote.

No, you're not. You're making something out of nothing. Worry if Baptist join the Catholics. Meanwhile, have a doughnut! LAY (I just invented my own Internet shorthand, since I had to look up SMH.)

"You guys"? Oookayy.
So in your emergent church ideology there really is no right and wrong, just sort of 'everything is relative' and 'there is no truth' except of couse the maxim 'there is no truth'.

So, now, you are trying to label the Vineyard, which has been a denomination for decades, part of the "Emergent" church? Stop trying to dodge. Are your views more aligned with God than those of people in other denominations? It's a simple yes or no question.

See? You think they are.

And there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, I think you SHOULD feel that way... or leave that denomination. But don't bash others as not having the truth because they know Jesus differently than you might.

I avoid the shiny things.:p I gravitate to the rock .I dont add lib and I dont go along to get along when it comes to a precious soul being lost or found. I can love those whom are attracted to shiny things . We all need to be checking our pride at the door and allow others to lead us back to the straight paths with the ROCK being our guide.

Proverbs 4:
25 Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. 26Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. 27Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.

I was asking. Now you are accusing me of bashing.
What I am saying is there are definite truths laid out in Scripture.
It is our duty to seek out those truths as intended by the Holy Spirit and not play the "it may be truth for you but not for me " game.
Neither are we to compromise our convictions in the name of "let's just get along and worship together" because of loooove.
You may take such a stand as unloving but God doesn't.

2 John 1:10 (KJV) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

PS I said emergent church IDEOLOGY , I never mentioned Vinyard.

So, do you just disfellowship someone who doesn't see the same thing you see?

I'm here aren't I?

I prefer to worship with those who are like minded. I will not walk into a Chrislam group or one's who teach the Scriptures have error and worship with them. I would be giving my approval of their false teaching. Their are red lines I hope you agree.
