Eze 18:23 Do I actually delight in the death of the wicked? says the Lord Jehovah. Is it not that he should turn from his ways and live?
Eze 18:24 But when the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked do, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered; in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.
Of course, one who aposates shall not have his righteousness remembered. But one who remains in the faith is a child of God and a co-sharer of God's holiness.

What did I do to be saved? Hum, I suppose God opened my ears so that I could hear the Gospel. And by believing that Jesus was the promised Messiah and that the Gospel is the New Covenant by which salvation is obtained, I guess my acceptance of such was what saved me. But, as to me deserving it, I deserve nothing on my own merit but everlasting death. So, the answer to how I was saved is, 'I am saved because I believe in the name of the Christ. He is who He says He is.'

But, I am sure by the way the question is stated, that it is not your intent as to how I received salvation. So, I will ask you a question, "What did they do to deserve an everlasting judgment of never coming before the Lord again?" The answer can be found in John 3:19, "And this is the condemnation: that light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." And the verse above that states, "The one who believes on Him is not condemned, but the one who does not believe is condemned ALREADY because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Now the first thing you THINK happened was that God HAD TO OPEN YOUR EYES! Given that, Why not simply open the eyes of everyone else?

And to answer your question, they did the very same thing you did! Remember if it weren't for God, you'd still be lost.

lolol. I do not think, it was what happened. God opened my ears :) That is the first stage of receiving the Gospel.
As to that question of why He does not simply open the eyes of everone else, I suppose He is the potter.

As to they did the same thing as I did, well, if they accepted Jesus as their Savior then they would not be lost, now would they? The only differene between them and those who are God's is that God's children accepted the Messiah. So, did they really did what I did?

If it wasn't for God, you'd be lost, but to those GOD HAS NOT OPENED THE EYES OF, because they didn't CHOOSE to receive Christ, they deserve what they get? What happened to their "first step"? And if it is God who reveals Himself first, then surely those you see in eternal torment will have to be ATTRIBUTED TO GOD! Surely this can't be the case! Do you know why He hasn't opened their eyes yet?

REMEMBER beloved, the ONLY reason you accepted Jesus is because God opened your eyes.

God didn't want us to be mindless beings that worked for him, He wanted us to choose love Him. That's why He gave us a choice. Just like you wouldn't want to force someone to love you,you would want them to love you of their own free will. So God lets us choose the somewhat difficult life of living for Him in a world thats against us,which only lasted for a bit, or we can choose to go against the One who created us and live a worldly lifestyle, which also only lasts. Fora small bit. But the consequences are burning in an eternal fire, but the worst part is that in well, and the lake of fire, there is the absence of God. Which is what those who chose a worldly lifestyle chose. God loves us all more than you can imagine, because we are His creation, He created us because He wanted company. The majority of the earth has let Him down:( I say we keep praying for a serious revival! Who's with me?!?

I am not certained that He opened my eyes, but I am certained that He opened my ears so that I could hear.

As to the perdictiment you have presented, I again point you to the sovenginity of the Lord in the example of the potter. So, I guess this is the sort of question you need to ask God, as the following:

Why did God choose the Hebews over other peoples?
Why did God choose to have His Son die for His salvational plan?
Why did God choose Jacob over Esau?

To teach us who read that in truth, Jacob was NO BETTER than Esau! The potter story is to teach how we strive against ourselves everyday. Let's use something discussed right now in the transsexual thread. A man is gay. No one taught him to be this way. All he knows is that when he sees his homeboys flirting with the ladies, he'd rather flirt with his homeboys! But I say again who knows the spirit (wife) of a man except that man?

Here he is gay as all outdoors. If God didn't make him that way then who did? But to conform to a worldly image, he deals treacherously with his spirit, renouncing the fact he is gay, he struggles against himself putting up with a female he's only with out of TRADITION.You may say it's not but for him it is! All he know is he likes men as like him, I wasn't taught to like women. It was in me to. It is natural for a man and a woman to be together yes, but so is having two arms and legs. If one was born missing one of these, do we treat them as unclean? God made also the blind deaf and dumb as these are PHYSICAL examples of spiritual principles.

So this gay man strives with his Marker. He's still gay, but because of him following tradition, his conscience is defiled.

Now think about this. He choose Jacob over Esau just because, but God has no respect of persons?

I agree with this. We don't know why Gid chooses some and not others, and it's none of our business. I believe in election and predestination because God's word teaches it. But as I've said in another post, it is not taught in order to limit the gospel call, but to humble us. It teaches us that God is sovereign over everything, including our salvation. But I also don't cast my lot with those who teach that God's election is so set, that we need not do anyhting. We must call on the Lord Jesus and forsake our sins. When I see an unsaved person, the question of election or predestination doesn't come to mind, but the sharing of the gospel does. I Just desire to share the gospel the best I can with them. If God wants to save them, He will take care of the rest.
God bless.

Absolutely Brother, the Bible most certainly teaches both God's sovereignty and one's willingness (all the whosoevers) in salvation. I think your last statement, 'If God wants to save them, He will take care of the rest', speaks of this duality of salvation the best. God, in His sovereignty, chooses whom will be saved and they who have an ear, a heart having hearkened to the calling, will hear.

God bless you Brother.

We all have a besseching sin, we are to have laid the burden of life and that sin aside, so that we can run that race which has been set before us. It does not matter if one wishes to name that sin or just acknowledge offense towards God, but that which matters is what we will do with that all emcompassing sin. Upon that track, we have the Holy Spirit as our Trainer and Jesus Christ as our Forerunner, so I say to you and everyone else, put your eyes upon the faith's Forerunner instead of that sin. Learn from the Spirit, seeing that the end result of such tutorage is righteousness's fruit of peace, not the battle which rages within.

He does not strife against hs Maker, he strives against his flesh. All the more reason to place his eyes upon Jesus.

As to, Now think about this. He choose Jacob over Esau just because, but God has no respect of persons, I really do not think I am capable of answering why God choose to do things He does? Why not ask Him yourself?

For all you that don't believe in eternal damnation, here's a little taste of what it might be like in the eternal abode of the lake of fire and brimstone, which also includes death and hell being cast into it (Rev 20:14). Part of the torment that the wicked will face, who lived in unbelief and rejected the love of God and the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ, will be the total deprivation of having any of the pleasures, conveniences, desires, appetites and cravings of the flesh being gratified as they were when they lived upon the earth. Whatever they indulged, took pleasure in and gratified themselves with through the flesh, they will have those urges but will not be able to fulfill them and they will intensify throughout the duration of eternity. This is part of the worm that dieth not.

Along with that they will not have any of the creature comforts they enjoyed on earth through God's logistical grace and will not be able to be comforted in any way no matter what they may suffer. They will not be able to go to their best friend because they will be isolated from all human contact. They will never be able to enjoy again the light and warmth of the rising sun, or the beauty of the white fluffy clouds draped and backdropped by a beautiful coral blue sky of heaven. They will never see another sunset or be able to hear the waves break on the shore, or walk in the rain or enjoy all the wonderful smells and fragrances of their favorite arrangement of flowers.

They will never see another tree blossom, or another valley or mountain or a rolling hill filled with all their beauty and splendor. They will no longer be able to hear children playing or enjoy a time with their family and friends. All of these things, including their sleep, will be taken from them and so much more and the accumulation and consummation of the loss of all these things will be their torment forever and ever because there is no more reunion, no reconciliation, no redemption and no restoration to what was. It will be as God has said.
I believe if we never repent of our sin, we will spend eternity in hell.

Eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

I did beloved, and He has answered. The ONLY way to understand this is with the mind of Christ, who came not to destroy mens lives but to SAVE them. WE ALL KNOW SOMEONE IN OUR LIVES WHO DIED THAT IN OUR MINDS, "DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT"!. To say anything otherwise would only make you a liar. And for those still under this form of delusion, and holding firm that many will die forever is a hypocrite.

God chose and loved Jacob over and hated Esau BEFORE the children were born, SUBJECTED to vanity AGAINST THEIR WILLS as GOD Chose again BOTH BEFORE THEY WERE BORN, HAVING DONE NEITHER GOOD NOR EVIL so that the PURPOSE of ELECTION may stand!

As surely as Jacob has done evil in the sight of the Lord, Esau has done good.

Genesis 33:1-11

33 And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.

2 And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

3 And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

4 And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.

5 And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

6 Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.

7 And Leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.

8 And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

9 And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.

10 And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

11 Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

I believe if we never repent of our sin, we will spend eternity in hell.
If you turn and forsake your sin and do not believe that Christ bore and crucified your sin on His body through death, you abide in an evil heart of unbelief, you have not been cleansed of your sin or justified by the blood of Christ, even though you cleaned up and garnished your house. Your turning from sin availed you nothing and you are still in sin and for many, a worse state then before.

Mt 12:43-45

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

There are two things we need to do. First, we need to love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls. Part of that is acknowledging that Jesus died for our sins. Second, we need to love our neighbors as ourselves.
