There is purpose in me asking what I'm asking, but don't expect a sermon after the questions are answered. I will, however reveal why I ask at some point. (I'm not good at patience nor quiet, but I will try to keep quiet as long as I can. lol)

Three simple question:
1. What were you expecting the first time you came on BDF? (BDF -- Bible Discussion Forum. Where you just landed, in case this was an accident.)

2. What did you want?

3. What do you get? But this is a two part question:
3a. What do you get that you weren't planning on getting.
3b. What do you get out of returning? (Why do you come back?)

Full freedom in answering however you want to answer, because that is what I'm hoping you will do -- answer however you will answer.
1/ The first time I came on here was to answer a question I felt was asked from a wrong perspective. I had joined CC for the prayer group and didn't like the sound of the headings for some of the discussions, in here.

2/ I wanted to feel I wasn't alone.

3/ I get encouragement, I get sorrow, I get frustrated.
3a/ I am getting to know some real Christians, even if not face to face, and the discernment in me is growing.
3b/ I keep coming back because I can't leave. I have wanted to But Jesus won't let me.

Was I quiet long enough?

My only questions after seeing the results is this:
Has everyone noticed how different the expectation, wants and needs are from one another? Is it a bad thing that they are so different?
No you were too quick LOL. We are all different anyway and we all have different needs and wants, The Holy Spirit is not with us to make us into clones, a body can't be made up of all feet and no arms or legs.

At Church one time we did a psychological exercise directed at finding out what type of person we were, and then to see whether it was relevant to our walk with the lord. It was a fun and get to know each other kind of exercise. But whatever your personality is God will use it to His plan, I don't think God changes who we are because it's us He loves, but He does change what and how we are.

Now my reasons being here have changed, I still look at the prayer requests and answer those I feel led to. I do get the impression through BDF that most understand the nearness of Christ's return, and I am starting to realise that biblical knowledge for some seems to be out of reach and that concerns me when it is so easy to obtain.

So what about you Depleted? How do you answer?

1) After being involved in very many many chat rooms, and other sites, I was hopefully expecting to find some place, that wasn't ran by oh so many micro-managers, with large egos that would ban, or boot, or mute, posters/subjects, that do not (necessarily) conform to someones' expressly held ideas, and or convictions, of what it is to be a student/studyer, of Gods' Word, and that of His Only Begotton, Jesus of Nazareth. I was also expecting/hoping to find a site that didn't indulge in Sgt. Peppers. :p

2) I was wanting to find some like-minded people who are not disillusioned, and/or younger (in faith), that could see that accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour in their life was not the be all/end all of one's journey, but, just the beginning!

3) I get pretty much, what I was expecting (by some). Being inferred to as gnostic, or an axe slasher, or, a fed, or just plain crazy! (although, I must admit......I've never been accused of being a fed! Though, I know they're in here, as well) (although, I feel a mite apprehensive, every time I hear a knock at me door) Nah!!...jez another "round" of Jehovah Wittnesses!! :p

3a) nothing.....Next!! :)

3b)
Seems, I am, and am (still), coming to terms, with being hard-wired for spiritual warfare, as such as been the story of my life. Square Peg, in a round hole, to the world.......Round Peg, in a square hole, to "Churches of Stone".
Also seems I feel (write? ;))
comfortable, with these bunch of loonies in here.

I see some posters comments, so, I know yer in here, and, we are/ I am, NOT alone!

Actually, I'm afraid if I answer, people will think, "Well that threads already done." Or even "Ohhh, so that is THE answer she expected." I don't want to douse the fire, and it really was more about getting people to see that we all have different reasons.

Recently people have gotten on the "this is what I expect out of this forum" bandwagon. I admit, there's a lot I expect out of this forum and it frustrates me I can't get it, but that doesn't make me right or the forum wrong. Kind of like thinking a giraffe should have stripes. It might be a good look, but it's not going to make stripe giraffes.

Sometimes it good to deal with what-is vs. what we want.

The line starts behind me.

I passed crazy like it was standing still. I'm riding the bumper of insane and I've got psycho in my sights.
Kind of hoping the line is side-by-side, not greatest to least.

I was seeking people who wanted to discuss the Bible and the deeper meaning. I got a ride awakening on how broken people who claim to be the Body of Christ is and meet some strong mature Christians who have helped me on my walk with Him.

Some made me mad and some made me cry, but God help me see past the hurt and understand the love behind their words and we became close friends.

One died a few years ago and I still miss him. Not sure how many of you knew Abiding but he was a very humble prayerfilled man, who toke the time to talk and pray with me for hours.
Wow, didn't know Abiding died :(

We used to agree on a lot of things. I enjoyed his sound reasoning from scripture

Fellowship here and there. Sharing the faith and the understanding given others and myself. I found pretty much what I expected for a forum, some who are faithful and true, some who doubt, some trying to convert to non-belief, and some trolls.

God bless all who are in Jesus Christ and who are seeking in spirit and truth, amen.

For those who don't know, or, are wondering about ones' own level, or degree of aforementioned terms inferring "crazy", such as "loonies", ya, even "gnostic" (though, not too far an extent), I reckon the proper term that is used in many Bibles, would be: Peculiar. Though, not so much in how we see ourselves, although, many sleepless nights have gone by, pondering/wondering/debating this very thing, within, and to, myself, but more, in the eyes of the world, that keeps trying to change/redirect/oppress, or, "wear down" (as from counting, by rubbing on a stone [the years], when calculating the number of the beast. If ya don't get it?.......Don't worry!

I am curious how this manifests itself to you, would you call yourself a 'prayer warrior'? Or something else. I don't want to pry, well I do but only on a spiritual level  (what are FEDS?)

I just wanted discussion with like-minded people (Christians). I got information, different opinions, inspiration, humor, and occasionally a swift kick in the a$$. I come back because the bible says to: "Exhort one another daily" (Hebrews 3:13), and there's all kinds of exhorting going on here. :)

I can answer your easy question --
The Feds. Federal government employees, particularly CIA, FBI, NSA, etc. They're the people we fear are spying on us if we do something wrong on national-law level. Odd part is they are spying on us, but if there is nothing to see worthy of their level of interest, they have the ability to ignore what is seen. In reality, they're the people who stop a lot of terrorists before the terrorists terrorize, but only get noticed when they don't.

Although, there are parts of me that "pray, without ceasing", I don't consider myself, a prayer warrior. Truth of the matter, Chaz? I dunno jez "what", I would call it......Something like in the 23rd Psalm: "Thou preparest a table before me.....In the PRESCENCE of my enemies" (a deliberate pattern of spiritual growth and maturing, almost like, in an arrogant fashion, or, a flaunting of, in spite of their presence.) or, a "wheat" growing in the midst of tares. It's "like", the seed that is planted in the good ground, and roots are "growing", and has happened upon a stone, or rocks, in this growth process, but instead of pushing the stones out of the way, and running the risk of said objects "altering" growth and root structure? Is more like punching through/breaking up/fracturing the obstruction/s. Remember the Psalm, where it sounds like the Father is speaking to His Son, telling Him: "You just sit here on My right side, until, I make a "footstool" of your enemies?"......Seems, this is where I'm employed.....But, has long been past (a) personal "recovery"(if you will), and, is become of a wider "scope", which, also has included (increasingly) in being an encourager of "others", who are like this. As well, as an "communicator" of that which was, and is, happening in my spiritual life.

The "upside" of this is I can see who is ultimately pulling the strings.
The "downside" is, they can see me too!
(this is all in the "unseen")

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI0_oLQWXvQ

Concerning "Feds"?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Fn36l_z3WY

Did I say "Feds"?....Maybe, I meant "Meds"!.......

When I first came to CC I came for the Poetry. CC is one of the few Christian Forums with a Poetry Room.
After listing most of my poetry there I decided to wander over to the Bible section and practice my poetry here.
Problem was too many mistake my expressions for actual theology...a theologian I am not.
