Exactly. They neither even have any semblance of the behavior or preaching of the Lord Jesus and the apostles. It's entirely a modern fabrication, what's, actually, big business. Religion is the most lucrative, legal con imaginable, all the rewards, with no risk of jail, if you play ball with a decent tax attorney or accountant. A con man who can play a religious gig would be stupid to be involved in risky criminal behavior, for much less reward.
This is true. The law really should see them as criminals though. They offer healing to seriously ill people who refuse medical attention and die. That's as good as murder in my book. Benny Hinn said on his show once for people all around the world to bring their dead loved ones to the TV and they would be resurrected. He had a disclaimer ("no so much in America"). Purely wicked. Todd Bently was drop kicking and punching people in order to "heal" them. Purely wicked. Charges should be brought against them.

These may seem like distant "christian idols" to a lot of people, but not many are realizing the churches and theology that has spawned in their wake. It's the same stuff but with a different face. It's much sweeter to look at now and much more deceptive from outward appearance.

I would argue to the contrary. Many of them have probably had some extreme emotional experiences and thought it was God, so it solidified their system of beliefs because it makes them feel special in some way.
I read a testimony of a WOF follower who has now left the movement.

He told of a time he sowed $10,000 into one ministry with a return of $1,000,000. He was sure it would work.
Even when he had doubts, he was listening to another guy and gave $20,000. He was still was half believing it.

Now he has completely left the group, he realises it was a brain washed mind set, you do this and the impossible happens, except it doesn't. If everyone just believes and you like the group, you continue along because it will make sense or else why do they all follow it like me. Duh.

I really hear what you're saying, but it's like free speech. When the government starts mucking in religion, bad things happen, history proves. Taking away protection from the crooked preachers can take away protection from honest preachers. It's like pornography: better for Playboy to sit on the shelf with Time, than for somebody to have power over what must be on the shelf. Anyway, all will stand before the Lord. There's never really any free lunch for the evil doer. God is not mocked.

Speaking of healing and people dying. Here is part three of Justin's seminar if anyone is interested. It's called "The Hurt of Healing"

I'm not singling you post out to discredit it. I'm using it as an example of why I don't view YouTube videos.

It may be 100% accurate, but there is no quoted source for the material and/or arguments posted in your comment.

Not sure what you mean. Justin did a seminar exposing false teachers. He uses video clips and quotes with sources. Why should I supply them here when he does a well enough job of it in his video? 90% of the sources are audio and video directly from the people he is exposing. Straight from the horses mouth.

I find this an ironic post. I was tempted myself just a few minutes ago to point out someone who is copy/pasting directly from Jospeh Prince's website and claiming the words for their own. Ah well. You don't have to watch the video. It is well done though and sources cited when need be. I am not going to list the sources here or post all the audio and video footage separately since it's all included in this video already. It really wouldn't make much sense for me to do so.

I just watched a giant crop leap 2.5 meters of his body length out of the water to nip a bat out of an overhanging branch. ..on Nat Geo

Who knew

OK OK. ..you knew I meant croc and not crop...right? ;)

That auto correct can be really testy when abbreviating words

Properly explaining scripture. Real simple concept.

********************************************

Plopearly splaining....sorry....I was watching Elmer Fudd and had a deja vu moment

The word that alludes you is expository but you may actually prefer to use exegesis although both would be really stellar

An exposition is ... A Worlds Fair...for example

But there is nothing fair about this thread now...is there (I'm not really asking so don't get hurt trying to answer)

It was locked into a mission from the launch and everyone at mission control flew to their panels to add their oohs and aahs as the guided missile streaked towards all things grace centered ... Under covert and tactical camouflage of heresy hunting

Please

Give it a rest already

Leave the big words and steak to those of us who are trained in such things and keep straining the pablum..There are still foreign objects in it

I know I know...it's your thread and you'll cry if you want to...cry if you want to

Unbelievable

You can bash people and mock them and somehow receive a 5 star rating from us?

The thing is...you do NOT want to discuss...you want to teach...This is a forum...not a church you made yourself the pastor of

Who have I bashed and mocked? At least three times now you've made hateful comments toward me. Who is crying? Not me. Although, I'm not laughing either. In fact, I feel nothing but pity for you.

I do a great job at discussing as well. My points are ignored and instead we talk about the meaning of a word I used instead of the serious points I address. Psychological projection and insults are not discussing, but a well known tactic on your part as evidenced in many threads already.

Thanks for your response.

Include the highlighted sentence along with Justin's "pedigree".

"I was tempted myself just a few minutes ago to point out someone who is copy/pasting directly from Jospeh Prince's website and claiming the words for their own." This too is an unsatisfactory practice. Everyone on this or any site who quotes and/or uses the work of others to prove a point should cite the source. If the source is not commonly recognized, always add a brief "pedigree".

Please don't be offended by my comment. Many of the videos that are posted on this site are quite long and are really just another opinion. A brief summary would be much more appropriate in a forum discussion format.
