What is the preserved word of God for the finnish speaking people?
Since I don't know Finnish, I would not be able to comment on this translation below. But you could take a KJB and compare the two.

King James Bible
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Evankeliumi Johanneksen mukaan 1:1 Finnish: Bible (1776)
Alussa oli sana, ja se Sana oli Jumalan tykönä, ja Jumala oli se Sana.

Here's the link: John 1:1 Multilingual: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Comparing yourselves to Muslims now, because of your blind faith in a translation?

Not something I'd brag about.
More evil-speaking on the part of a Christian. Nobody reading my post would arrive at such a conclusion, except the one who has hatred for the KJB and those who hold to it. I trust you enjoyed your little barb againt me personally, even though personal attacks are not permitted on Christian forums.

What I was pointing out is that even Muslims have more regard and respect for their Scripture than many so-called Christian "scholars", when it should be exactly the opposite.

Moslems view the Qu'ran as eternal, and the written word as equivalent to the eternal word, so comparing the their view to that of Christians is a bit misleading. There is a fundamental difference.

Ah yes I am aware of the 1776 bible. Thanks for a response. You are the first.

The reason why this has gone out of print is because many of the words do not exist anymore, and some letters are different:

For example the bible uses the word 'glad' for 'saved', that is how the language worked back then.
But you are right tthat this is similar to the KJV, even 1 john 5:7 is there.

I imagine most people reading your post would have inferred the same thing I did. My comment was no more a personal attack on you than any of yours are toward non-KJVO's.

And you really need to stop trying to put words in my mouth. If you had been around on this forum for any length of time at all, you would know that I have never said the KJV is bad, or a bad translation. The worst I've said about it is that it is written in old/middle English, and is difficult to understand for many people.

It's the KJVO Pharisees that I have issues with. I am a live and let live kind of guy when it comes to which translation someone likes to read/study. Read it, study it, enjoy it.... just don't tell me that you have some kind of special "handed down from God Himself" translation in the KJV.

I will have to see if I can find some, it has been a few years since I even used it, most of them were New Testament, I do not remember any OT issues, I actually like the OT style, if I trusted it more I would use it.
what do you not trust? Maybe I can help!

Exactly. Which is exactly why this KJVO is so damaging... you are putting your whole belief system, and your faith, into a TRANSLATION of scripture... instead of scripture itself.

The "pure words of God" are what we engrave on our hearts, not in some idolized book....and the translation that puts them there matters very little... if we are studying God's word, the Spirit will make sure we arrive at the truth, whether we read about 70 people sent out, or 72.

You people are straining gnats and swallowing camels.

And driving babes in Christ away with your idolatrous worship of a translation.
I believe the King James Bible is scripture itself (in English that is). If you don't want to believe that then alright. Clearly this thread wasn't for you. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing the word of God. So yeah, in the year 2017 I have to put my faith in a translation of scripture. Unless you can make me a time machine so I can read out of the originals xD.

I'm not driving anyone away. I doubt someone has read this thread and said "Y'know what? I don't believe in God anymore." All I'm saying is that the KJV is God's perfect word for English speaking people. If someone wants to read out of a newer version then they can do that. I never said that if you read out of a newer version you're going to hell. And btw God can enlighten a babe's mind to read old English and I say that from experience because that's what he did with me. If someone is a babe and they can't read the KJV because its too difficult to understand, that's okay. I never said you weren't saved if you read the NASB or something.

John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Psalm 138:2
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Hey bro, are you subscribed to someone named "Hensley" on YouTube? There was a comment made on one of his videos a day or 2 ago by a Finnish person with the username "Bogadile". In their comment they were looking for an inspired translation of the Bible for Finnish people lol. I realize that you're probably not him but it is such a strange coincidence. Just thought I'd ask because you're doing the same thing on here.

It is a version in English that was translated from Hebrew, Chaldean and Greek. Nothing more, nothing less. A version of the mss the translators translated from.

To conflate hearing the word of God to KJVO is just plain foolishness.

And praytell, how can you quantify this statement? By what standards can you positively assert this ideology?

There's no depth too deep for you guys. To qualify these verses to being applicable solely to the KJV is just utter foolishness.
