Genesis2:9..And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis3:22...And the Lord God said, Behold the man is become one of Us, to know good and evil: and now, less he put his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.

How many forbidden trees were in Eden?

I made bold the two words that answer your question in the verses you gave. That was the only one forbidden. I guess they just never got around to eating from that other tree. :D

None, as far as I can tell.

I think they DID eat from it. And I think it was just like being "in" Christ... it is something that we need to be doing everyday.

Out of the, what? Thousands upon thousands of trees they could eat from, they ate from the ONE they were commanded to not to eat from. Goes to show if we arnt on guard our focus can be shifted.
(That's one of the things I get from their mistake)

Are you saying you think A&E ate from the Tree of Life?

After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Why would God then guard the Tree of Life? Just curious :)

One possibility would be to deny the next generation access to it.

ONE

Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV)
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Were they not removed from the garden already?

Yes. It also prevented A&E from access to the tree. We have no way of knowing whether or not they had already eaten of the tree of life but that tree seemed only to be a means of extending fleshly existence.

Most likely not...

Genesis 3:22 (KJV) And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

But the act of their disobedience is what introduced death into the picture, Creation. I have a tendency to think of the Tree of Life as Jesus Christ. .. maybe because He calls Himself "the true vine."

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

They were prevented from eating it to stop them living forever in a sinful condition. There was nothing to stop them from eating from it before. Had they eaten from it instead of listening to Satan we wouldn't be in the mess we are now

The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was the only fruit off limits....God said they could eat the fruit of every tree except the one named in the first part of this post!

Because to continue to eat from it on a regular basis, would ensure continued life from the constant renewal of our life force..... just as a constant relationship with Jesus keeps us living right.

Yes, ALL life is in Jesus Christ... another reason to think the Tree of Life is symbolically referring to Him :) The fruit of the forbidden tree (disobedience) is death.

"Because I live, ye shall live also."

Very Jedi sounding. I'm not buying that's scriptural though.

Do you think that getting wet one time, and saying "I believe" does it........ without staying "in" Christ?
