Do you think that getting wet one time, and saying "I believe" does it........ without staying "in" Christ?
Well, really talking about life forces and immortality, more than water baptism. In my mind, the two are about as connected as purple rain and bubble gum.

Only one was forbidden- the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I don't know if they knew about the tree of life. But God prevented them from eating of it because then they would live forever in a sinful state. We will eat of it when we go to heaven, and after that we will never be able to die.

To accept Jesus' propitiatory sacrifice on your behalf, to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that He is LORD, is to eat of the Tree of Life (IMHO).

Jesus said to them,
"Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me."

I think the tree of life became "forbidden"'after A&E had eaten from the tree of knowledge because at that point they(we) became sick, evil. So can you imagine living forever in the state we are in now? Not perfect. I think God only wants us to live forever in perfection. That's why we have to wait till we are made perfect to have eternal life.
