Were we forgiven at the cross or when we believed the gospel? I believe the bible teaches God forgave our sin debt and reconciled Himself to us at the cross. When we believe the gospel, we have reconciled ourselves to Him and are justified by faith. Since this is the case, unbelievers have no sin problem, but a Son problem! We are justified by faith, not by "turning from sin".

I found a few scriptures that say your past sins are forgivin

2 PETER1 [4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;[6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;[7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.[8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.[9] BUT HE THAT LACKETH THESE THINGS IS BLIND, AND CANNOT SEE AFAR OFF, AND HATH FORGOTTEN THAT HE WAS PURGED FROM HIS OLD SINS.

ROMANS 3 [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;[24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:[25] Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS THAT ARE PAST, through the forbearance of God;

Also found scriptures sayin if you continue in sin {future sins}, youll be up the creek without a paddle

JOHN 5 [11] He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. [12] Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?[13] And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.[14] Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, BEHOLD, THOU ART MADE WHOLE: SIN NO MORE, LEST A WORSE THING COME UNTO THEE.

PSALM 55 [17] Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. [18] He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me. [19] God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CHANGES, therefore they fear not God.

PSALM 68 [20] He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death. [21] But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an ONE AS GOETH ON STILL IN HIS TRESPASSES.

Could you show me the scriptures or even 1 scripture that says your future sins are forgivin as i hear the many claim

Colossians 2:13-14
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

[SUP]14 [/SUP]Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Hebrews 10:12-14

[SUP]12 [/SUP]But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

[SUP]13 [/SUP]From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Big problem for ya here. You dont know what the handwriting of ordinances are. Not gonna disrupt this thread to explain it to ya. Eventually itll be talked about on thread i started. Ill just show ya the outcome.

ISAIAH 24 [5] The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, CHANGED THE ORDINANCE, broken the everlasting covenant.[6] Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

The "many" have changed the ordinance to fit there doctrine. Dont look good for them

LOL. Show me the scripture that says a person can sin in anything other than the present? Are you sinning in the present moment?

Oops, too late. That moment has past. How about now?

Jesus seems to disagree with you

Paul disagrees with you, Sin should not have power over us, but it doesn't mean that we don't sin. It simply means that it should not rule over us as it doe's sinners. We are not perfect

Yes and more than you know. The closer we get to God the more we find out just how sinful we are and how much more we need the cross of Christ.

Falling for temptation, speaking in anger, lying, compromising our faith, doing something without asking God first. shall I keep going?

Sure. Im sure each and everyone of us here will have sinned come this time tommorrow.

1 John 1:8-9 (KJV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP]If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And if we have not confessed our sin to God by then...the sin will remain

You mean sowing to the flesh. Just say it. You have a choice. You choose .

Ahhhh, well there's the problem. If you need to get additional forgiveness in addition to the forgiveness already provided by Christ’s shed blood on the Cross, then of course, you will have to stay on top of all those sins, as they can add up quite quickly I’m sure. Careful you don't get behind......

I think that might be true up to a point, but he cleanses us so that we can enter and feel safe with him.

Then said I, Woe [is] me! for I am undone; because I [am] a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, [which] he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid [it] upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Isaiah 6:5-7

Therefore, [because we] have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our weaknesses, but who has been tempted in all [things] in the same way, without sin. Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16
