FYI; I'm the OP that started this thread. I did it because I was trying to decide weather or not to support or send a dime to christian chat in May last year. I wanted to find out if it was a platform for Christian free speech or just another site full of sheeple. So I asked one of the most controversial questions I could think of to see if it or I would get shut down, supported by the rainbow flag people, or, or... I'm still here paid in full 7 1/2 months later. I'd like to thank all of you who read, reacted or responded it meant more to me than you realize, weather you agree or disagree. Although it's still alive and kickin', there other ways I'd rather spend my time than complain about Gay bashing. Don't be mistaken I'm not surrendering but there other things that might more productive. So That's all from me on this subject I hope. Thank you all for sharing. Too Da Loo calibob.

No. Before I sent any money to support CC I wanted to make sure it was a platform for free speech. If it was polarized to either side I wouldn't send a dime. I'm surprised the thread is still alive after 8 months and It's the only social media site I've ever participated on. If you don't believe in the freedom of speech I'd rather not discuss anyting with you again.

This discussion board it privately owned and operated, they can impose limits on what can be stated if they so choose.

I could say more about your little probe but I won't. If that was the purpose of this thread, I agree it should end.

Attempting to determine whether a community is one worth paying for before becoming a member is not something I would call a "little probe." It is wisdom in action. Bob is a very wise man :)

Freedom of speech is a slippery slope! This is a Christian forum. That in and of itself should limit what kind of speech should be used. Profanity, advocating what the Bible labels abominations, etc. Think before you advocate free speech. Our laws restrict saying certain things under certain circumstances. Like yelling fire in a crowded room when there is no fire!!

I was speaking of the Constitutionally accepted, legal meaning of freedom of speech which is protected by law. I am not an anarchist, a Marxist or a white supremist. I'm a conservative according to liberals and a liberal according to conservatives. I am Independent. Not a subscriber the new Bernie bros. I would never join, send money, or support to any of them so investigated first. Herbert Spencer.jpg

Throughout recent history from the first church until now, there have been several interpretations of what is believed considering what scripture means. There are different stances on whether gifts are still active or not, differences between defining the One true God into His triune nature, differences in classifying this nature as manifestations or persons (which the word persons cannot be found at all in scripture), differences in baptisms, differences basically in every topic and subject matter.

Some sites, including this one, appears to be one sided towards their beliefs. And if you do not agree or adhere, you are banned.

Now, I happen to agree with the majority of what this site proclaims, except the (persons idealism, which is a man made assumption and not backed by scripture specifically). But to some who do not see our God as "triune" in nature, and they try to express their beliefs, I am learning through observation will get removed in a form of being banned.

If this site was truly a site for Christians, it would recognize that anyone who accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior (this is what a CHRISTIAN is - one who accepts Jesus (the CHRIST)), then it would overlook petty differences LIKE GOD overlooks them.

Because, NONE OF US know the absolute truth concerning scripture, we just are guessing at best.

And in that knowledge alone, concerning the bias position of this site, it would be difficult to support something so ignorant financially!!

There is something I don't understand: Many or most Christians pick on or outright hate gay people. I realize that homosexuality is a sin however the verses they usually recite also include adultery, fornication, idolatry, drunkenness, and liars. So why single out gays?

I would like to make it clear that in regards to the treatment of homosexual tendencies and practices, I do not have your extensive study, training and actual expertise of this, either in a practical approach or a spiritual sense.

From what I have learned about homosexuals in actual study and observation, and from what I gleaned from scripture, that there may be a difference, in some cases, of homosexual practices and deviant sexual practices. Regarding deviant sexual practices, those are absolutely detestable in the eyes of God and are a grievous sin. I believe that no spiritually healthy Christian heterosexual would even consider doing such a thing. I also believe that a true homosexual was wired wrong at birth and therefore, depending on the early formulative environment, through no fault of their own, may be prone to favoring and be attractive to one particular sex that is the same as their own.

I will also state that I don't believe that God condones such a lifestyle but does understand the human condition quite well and does not treat a particular individual harshly in these instances but rather with understanding, mercy and compassion.

In my opinion, unlearned as it is, I believe that true homosexual behavior is a disease and should be treated as such. That does not mean that I would offer counsel and say that there is nothing spiritually wrong with homosexual behavior because I believe that there is. Whether or not it is a grievous sin or not I could not say, however a single sin will keep you out of heaven regardless of the type.

No, God did not create Adam and Steve, and no, they probably should not form a life-long exclusive relationship and union. The thing is, I find it sad as such people would then spend an entire lifetime denied the type of human companionship of that of normal heterosexuals, and to experience love and to be loved. God did say that it is not good to be alone. Yes, the Lord walked with Adam in the garden before Eve was created and yet Adam was still lonely for someone of his own kind. Steve is lonely too and sadly, must live his life in a lonely existence.

I find it interesting that Paul had a thorn in his side, three times he prayed for God to remove. God did not remove the thorn but said that His grace was sufficient. Perhaps Paul had a sin problem as well. Probably a lonely guy too.

May God bless you in your ministry of the least of your brothers and sisters.

It it would seem that deep wisdom and conspiracy escaped me... oh well.

This topic has been around so many times, there was nothing new or novel in this probe.

^^^^^ and that is a perfect example of free speech. Others are 'free' to open a private board of their own and operate it according to their limits. We are free to speak our hearts and minds as are the others. The real issue is how an we speak together instead of against each other. Free speech isn't free when others determine the freedom of another. Free speech is only free when you afford the other person the same freedom. The minute you start regulating others freedom is the second you become a slave yourself.
