We are all sinners.
Without Christ, I am a foul tempered anti social, drunken, brawler, and whoremonger among other nasty things. Thanks be to my Lord Jesus Christ, who makes me the dedicated husband of one wife, a father, a peace maker, who loves his brothers and sisters in Christ, and the lost as well, and a seeker of righteousness.
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved
I agree with you Pony. We used to live that way. The closer we get to God He starts removing all our vile behaviors that we once lived in. We start to be sanctified when we follow Gods words. We no longer are whoremongers, brawlers, drunkards, etc.
It is God through His Holy Spirit that begins to purify us and work on us. He who started the work is faithful to finish. So if someone was practicing gay behaviors that will cease. Some sins are easier to quit cold turkey than others. Some sins take time and alot of prayer and getting deep in the word. This walk is not easy but it is possible for those who submit themselves and yield completely to God. Baby steps. Nothing happens overnight.
But we must hate sin and have a willing heart that wants to change. If you just want to keep living in sin, then you cannot say you are living for Christ. Thats a lie. You wouldnt want to be practicing foul acts if you seek to honor God. Children of God obey their Father.
