CP was awesome with posting early! I only posted because I had plans to post today.
You don't have to reply my posts, I know it's a lot!šŸ˜… Next time I promise if someone starts the posting of 10 Chapters before me, I will only use their post(s)šŸ˜€

I agree with your comments CP & V.

The only thing I would add is that the concern about intermarriage relates to God's will for Israel to remain separate from the Gentiles until the Messiah is provided for the potential salvation of all.

Nice note, thanks! Looking forward to see how this plays outšŸ˜€

Thank you, that is smashing of you to say! Your notes are more thorough than mine though!
Btw, my internet equipment has been switched out. The tech even replaced my wall plate lol. I had the other equipment for 15 years! I have a fancy new system now. Ya'll better watch out lol jk.

I'm going to try to post in the morning similarly as how/when I posted this morning, 'cause I don't have any plans tomorrow except house chores. Fun :D

Verite, I just wanted to ask if this note is a trick to see who is paying attention. I just want you to know, I'm paying attention!:cool:

GENESIS CHAPTER 25 NOTES

and this one...

GENESIS CHAPTER 25 NOTES

v7 Abraham was 115 years old when he passed away

v17 Ishmael lived to 137 years old, lived longer than his father
Another test! I see you! ;)

GENESIS CHAPTER 27 NOTES
v8-10 Rebekah is instructing Jacob to be deceptive or was she obeying what God said would happen? I think goat and venison taste very different, maybe the spices masked which was which
Have you had goat? what's it like?? I'm curious. I've never had goat.

What is the 3-day experience for Isaac?
Isaac traveled 3 days with Abraham to the land of Moriah where he as supposed to be sacrificed.

This stood out to me too. Especially at birth. I don't recall seeing a hairy infant.
LoL, me either. Sounds like baby Bigfoot.

Wait, what was wrong with Laban? I totally missed thatšŸ˜… Is it because he gave Leah instead of Rachel? I really felt for Jacob. Then Leban explains the culture, so I thought it was a cultural norm and maybe not something that was meant maliciously.
We'll learn more of his shady ways tomorrow.

I'm getting too many spoilersšŸ˜…
Please forgive me, I can't help myself!:eek:

I'm not able to see what you're referencing here, but I can still answer. I am definitely not trying to trick anyone! Tricking people is not in my nature, and wouldn't know how to go about itšŸ˜… I'm just taking notes on what I noticešŸ˜€

Another test! I see you! ;)

I promise that is not the intent! What do you feel is the test? I'm not understandingšŸ˜…

Have you had goat? what's it like?? I'm curious. I've never had goat.

Yes, I'm not a fan of goat. It has an acquired taste. It could just be me, you should try it to see if you like itšŸ˜€

Oh dear, please forgive me. I noticed just a few errors and thought maybe you were just testing us to see if we were paying attention!

You typed that Isaac and Rebekahā€™s children were Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. This was actually the offspring of Abraham and Keturah (Genesis 25:2)

You typed that Abraham was 115 years old when he passed away and that Ishmael lived to 137 years old, lived longer than his father. Abraham actually lived to be 175, therefor Ishmael did not live longer than his father.
It says in Genesis 25:7 that Abraham lived to be a hundred threescore and fifteen years. According to the dictionary, threescore means 3 times 20. Thus, 60. Then add 15 and you've got 75. Thus, 175 altogether.

I make these corrections respectfully! I didn't mean to suggest you were trying to trick us in a bad way, just thought you were trying to keep us on our toes lol

If I read your notes in error, I do apologize!

Thank your for answering my question! Having grown up in the country and eaten a wide variety of things (including rattlesnake), you'd think I would have eaten goat. Somehow the opportunity hasn't presented itself yet. But, if it's not that great, I'm worried about it lol.

Wow, thanks! I was like how was I this off?! I must of been really tired, I missed reading vs1. I didn't realize Abraham had another wife. You mentioned Abraham getting another wife, but I thought you were talking about his concubines! šŸ˜¬šŸ˜‚

The last verse in Chapter 24 is Genesis 24:67 " And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death."

Then Gen 25:2 "And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah" I completely missed reading v1. I would have definitely notated Abrahams new wife! That's crazy how that happenedšŸ˜…

Yes, another clear error. Good eyes, thankful you're reading with me to catch errors!

No need for apology! I accept your corrections happily. Truth is what I seek! If I'm wrong, I want to be correctedšŸ˜€

I think this a clear sign I need to get some rest. I don't drink coffeešŸ™‚ I had something happen unexpected yesterday that really threw my routine off while starting a new routine. Need to get some rest for a few days before I start posting early like I want. I don't want to make anymore crazy mistakesšŸ˜…

Thank you! I am still reading 10 Chapters daily and still posting daily. Just not early the way I wanted for the time beingšŸ™‚
Well, if I may say so, I hope you can get the rest you need and get your routine in order that benefits you so that as a result you'll be able post early as you had wanted to.
I'll post in the morning...of course, my notes aren't as thorough as yours! But, perhaps they will suffice for tomorrow :)

GENESIS CHAPTER 31 NOTES

v3 God tells Jacob to return to his family in Canaan because Jacob is being accused of stealing from Laban

v7 Jacob states that Leban deceived him

v11 Angel of God spoke to Jacob in a dream

v13 Jacob was told to leave back to the land of Canann where his family is in a dream. Noticing that a lot of chapters say what is going to be discussed in the chapter in the first verse or two

v16 Leah and Rachel agreed with Jacob to obey God

v24 God came to Leban in a dream to warn him about Jacob

v26 Wow! Jacob only served Leban to take Rachel as a wife, right? Leban also said he didnā€™t have to serve him until Jacob insisted, right?

v29 Laban acknowledges God warned him about Jacob

v32 Rachel had stolen the gods (images). Interesting Laban could have false gods when he believed the true God came to him in his sleep

v34-35 Rachel hid the images (gods)

v38 Jacob had been with Leban for 20 years. Seems like Leban was not a good livestock farmer

v41 ā€œThus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed by wages ten times.ā€- Jacob explains all that has happened between him and Leban

v43 Leban is either in complete denial or a bold liar. He didnā€™t find the gods (images). Jacob explained everything plainly that was true. God warned Leban in a dream the night before

v47 Galeed is where Jacob and Leban took a covenant

v50&52 It appears the covenant between Leban and Jacob is for Jacob to take no other wives besides his daughters and not pass over into each others land set by the pillar they placed in Galeed

GENESIS CHAPTER 32 NOTES

v1 Angels of God met with Jacob

v2 ā€œAnd when Jacob saw them, he said, This is Godā€™s host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.ā€ - not sure the meaning

v5 Jacobā€™s message to Esau. Looking for Esauā€™s grace

v7 ā€œJacob was greatly afraid and distressedā€ Iā€™m noticing he doesnā€™t seem to have the same protection as Abraham and Isaac. Isaac was not told to go back to Haran, but Jacob did and ended up being a servant for years

v8 Jacobā€™s plan if Esau attacks him and his people

v11 Jacob prays to God for protection

v18 Jacob sends a servant to give Esau a present of many livestock

v22 Jacob had 11 sons

v28 Jacobā€™s name is now Israel

v30 ā€œAnd Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.ā€ - Powerful! Jacob recognizes that he has seen God's face. Previously God appeared to Abraham and Isaac, now JacobšŸ˜€

v32 ā€œTherefore the children of Isreal eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacobā€™s thigh in the sinew that shrank.ā€ - First time seeing the ā€œchildren of Israelā€ after Jacob was named Israel by God. Not sure of the meaning of the hollow of Jacobā€™s thigh and significance of ā€œsinew that shrankā€
