This is border line of claiming God does not hear the cry of the prodigal son. Clearly the prodigal son went from good standing in God to about as far away from God as possible. But in the end, we see God running open armed to meet the prodigal son as he returns. Although I am saved, I am still a sinner under Grace. I sin daily, unfortunately. And I have complete faith that God hears me and exonerates me even though He knows I will sin again. I believe God hears the heart, not the mouth. When we are sincere, our heart is already in the correct place for God to intervene. When we are not sincere, God knows the difference in plain ole lip service.
In the parable of the Prodigal the father always knew the name of his son who was always part of the father no matter where he went in life.

Amen!

But when the son lost touch of the father, he did not think upon the father until he was broke and in desperate despair. Even though the father never lost hope and kept daily watch for the son's return, the son had no interest in the father until he actually needed him. I am so thankful God knew through my rejection of Him to never give up on me. God knew I needed to waller in the mud and pig feces for awhile before I came to my senses to seek Him.

In sermon on the mount when the Lord said when you pray, pray like this. Our Father who art in heaven... He did not say repeat after me. In Luke he gave us a parable about a self righteous man and a tax collector. The Pharisee boasted to God about his good works but the Tax Collector simply lowered his head beat his breast and said "God have mercy on me a sinner." The tax collector went home justified. The Pharisee did not. Luke 18, 9-14
Who say the Lord does not hear the prayers of a sinner?

Two charges that would be great if they disappeared from forum discussions entirely. Charges of Calvinism, as if that's an insult and should shut down any further discourse, and especially when Calvinism's doctrine is arrived at through an amalgam of God's scriptures. And Hitler!
So, you are comparing Calvinism to Hitler? Wow! That's a wee bit harsh isn't it?

And, I suppose one can not disagree with those who perused an amalgam of God's Scripture and came to the conclusion that He wanted mindless robots to be His children?

Now, be sure, you and other have every right to believe as you wish, and as you believe you are led to, but that just means you are believing your interpretation of Scripture, and your interpretation is no more worthy of being carved in stone than any others interpretation......even mine.

I believe Calvin missed the mark by a country mile, and have a plethora of Scripture to support my beliefs......but, shoot, I would never compare him to Hitler.

God did.

God you'll remember came into the presence of Matthew, Jesus did, and called him to be his Apostle. When God said he doesn't hear the prayers of sinners he isn't equivocating or lying. Just as he spoke truth when he said he knew those who were his and they were saved before he created the world.
