Speaking as someone who believes Jesus is the Word in the flesh, I feel it is an insult to God to worship him while his body lies dead in the tomb.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Good Link. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Hi PS, why is it a good link in your view?

Once again word of website with many theories but no scripture that says that Sunday is the "Lords Day". Where does it say in your friends website teachings that Sunday is the "Lords Day"?

hmmm wait it does not.

Who do we believe the word of website or the Word of God?

Yet God's Word says.........

Matthew 12
8
, For the Son of man is LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY.

Where does it say in the bible that Sunday is the "Lords Day"?

Who should we believe? The teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God?

.............

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

Hope this helps..

If you BELIEVE Jesus is the Word of God you will FOLLOW what he says. Many of the Jews made similar claims in the days of Jesus as to their heritage as being God's people. They said they were God's people because they were the children of Abraham while going about seeking to secretly kill him.

Jesus said to them if you were indeed the Children of Abraham and God's people you would do the works of Abraham. If your Faith does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are not a part of God's people. Only those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW Jesus walk with the risen in newness of life.

Saturday worship is a Jewish custom based on the error that God rested on the Sabbath, which simply means he rested from the creative act. The truth is God neither slumbers or sleeps.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary there is no searching of His understanding (Isaiah 40:28).

My Father has been working until now, and I have been working (John 5:17).

The early Christians who had been brought up in the Jewish faith moved to Sunday worship of the Lord, whose return will be on a Sunday also. I see, and this is a personal view born of long experience, that those Jews who hold to the same customs as the scribes and Pharisees, that are a result of a misunderstanding of scripture, are no different from those Jews who Jesus described as "whited sepulchres."

MarcR,
re: "Using the Gregorian Calendar days do in fact change at midnight. Using the Jewish Calendar, by which the beginning and end of Passover was and is reckoned, days change at sundown."

But whether the 1st day of the week starts at midnight or at sundown, it is still the 1st day of the week at 1am.
Why are you fixated on 1am ? where is that significant in our discussion ?

just like Christians keeping the Sabbath. can't be proven to be a N.T. command.
We know that the NC is a law of LOVE....NOT commandment in the old letter !
Since when do you have to 'command' people who are in a 'loving relationship ???

Well that is not true whatsoever. God's Sabbath is not a Jewish custom. It is one God's 10 commandments written by God and spoken by God himself. God's LAW (10 commandments) gives us the KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS IS.

God wrote it and if you LOVE Jesus you should BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. God's 4th Commandments is...

Exodus 20
8,
Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested theSEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

Lets start here and let God's Word define SIN ...........

James 2
10,
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, YOU ARE BECOME A TRANSGRESSOR OF GOD'S LAW

James is pretty clear if we brake ANY of God's Law (10 commandments) then we are a TRANSGRESSOR of God's LAW

Links to...........

Romans 7
7
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known SIN, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

Well here we have Paul in agreement with James and John also telling us that SIN is breaking God's commandments and uses the 10th commandment as an example of breaking any of God's LAW (10 commandments) = SIN (Exodus 20:17)

links to...........

1 John 3
4
Whosoever commits SIN transgresses also the law: for SIN is the transgression of the law.
John is in agreement with James and states that if we TRANSGRESS God's LAW then we commit SIN because SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW.

So it is very clear that SIN is breaking ANY of God's LAW (10 commandments)

Links to............

Romans 3
20
, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.

So it is unanamous James, Paul and John all agree that SIN is breaking ANY of God's 10 Commandments.

Now that we have God's definition of SIN being BRAKING God's LAW (10 commandments)

It is very clear from the Word of God that James, John and Paul all agree that SIN is the transgression or BREAKING ANY of the 10 commandments.

.........................

No help at all!

1. John says it is only by keeping God’s 10 commandments that we know that we know God (1 John 2:3)

1 Jn 2:1
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
KJV

I see no mention of the 10 commandments. God commands that we be loving and forgiving. He does not put us under Law!

1. Paul teaches God's people keep the Sabbath Hebrews 4.

I see NO MENTION of Sabbath in Hebrews 4. The rest spoken is ceasing from our own works (i.e. Law keeping).
Also the presumption that Hebrews was written by Paul is shaky at best.

1. James says God’s Law (10 commandments) are a Royal Law (James 2:8)

Jas 2:8
8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
KJV

again no mention of the ten commandments!

The only thing this post accomplished was to bring your intellectual honesty into question.
Can you tell us HOW you love God and neighbour in a way that is acceptable to God if you ignore HIS instructions ?
Do you 'just love them any way that 'seems right to YOU ?
Are we not told to 'do the Will of the Father ???

If you don't mind, I would like to say something. As we all know we live under a New Covenant under Jesus Christ and he gave us some new commandments that are stricter than the old commandments.

New Covenant equals new Commandments. Here they are and there is nothing about the Saturday Sabbath. My question to you is "Are you a Christian?" If you are, then you need to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said (36) keep MY commandments. HE is the LORD of the Sabbath.

1. "Forgive everybody of all their offences against you."
2. "You must be born again."
3. "Abide in me, and let me abide in you."
4. "Let people see your good works." (do not hide your light under a basket.)
5. "End disputes quickly."
6. "Whatever causes you to sin, get rid of it."
7. "Do not swear oaths at all."
8. "Do not return offence for offence." (Turn the other cheek.)
9. "Give what people ask of you, and give more than is required." (Go the extra mile.)
10. "Love your enemies and those who work against you."
11. "Give to the poor to please God, not to gain approval from other people."
12. "Pray privately and simply, not to impress other people."
13. "Make your prayers be like the Lord’s Prayer."
14. "When you fast, do it secretly, not for show."
15. "Store up your treasures in heaven, not on earth."
16. "Do not worry about your material needs."
17. "Do not worry about the future."
18. "Make God your highest priority, and he will take care of all your needs."
19. "Do not judge other people." (Judge not, lest ye be judged.)
20. "Do not give holy things to dogs or cast your pearls before swine."
21. "Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort those in distress."
22. "Follow the narrow path to life." (enter by the narrow gate.)
23. "Beware of false prophets."
24. "Exercise power over unclean spirits."
25. "Love little children, do not despise them."
26. "Do not take the titles 'master' or 'father' for yourself."
27. "Resolve disputes in an orderly way, like this . . . "
28. "Do not oppose other believers in Christ who are not in your group."
29. "Have total faith in God for everything."
30. "Be like the good Samaritan." (go, and do likewise.)
31. "Love other people as i have loved you"
32. "Eat bread and drink wine in remembrance of me."
33. "Wash one another's feet."
34. "Be merciful."
35. "Go and teach all nations, baptising them."
36. "Keep my commandments."
37. "Be prepared for your master to return."

Lev 19:18
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.
KJV

but thou shalt love וְאָֽהַבְתָּ means but thou shall have affection for.

1 Jn 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
KJV

let us love one another ἀγαπὼμεν means let us seek what is in each other's best interests.

I do this through the enabling of the Holy Spirit.

I do NOT ignore his instructions. I receive His instructions through the Holy Spirit NOT the Law.

And who is disagreeing with them ? what makes you think they are not all contained in the 10 Commandments ?
I (don't) like the way you list 'GOD your highest priority' as Nr 18....way after most others....why are
you preaching to others when you need to get things right for yourself first ?

When you actually put GOD first and what HE wants then I might listen to you. These people honor me with their lips (mouthing words) but their heart is far from me.

Some comments below....

If you do not know what the OLD Covenant is how can you know what the NEW Covenant is? What is your definition of the OLD Covenant? What makes up the OLD Covenant in your view and what is the purpose of the different laws that make up the Old Covenant?

HE is the LORD of the Sabbath.
Yes he is this is the "Lords Day" as Jesus has told us and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD.

Some comments in BLUE below for your consideration.......

1. "Forgive everybody of all their offences against you."

Yes following the example of Jesus how can God forgive us if we do not forgive others?

2. "You must be born again."

SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (10 commandments) Please read; 1 John 3:4; James 2:11; Romans 7:7 and Romans 3:20.

Those who are born again do NOT make a practice of breaking God's LAW (10 commandments) Please read 1 John 3:9-10.

Those that break God's 10 commandments do NOT know GOD or have NOT seen God (1 John 3:6-8; 1 John 2:3-4)

3. "Abide in me, and let me abide in you."

What does it mean to ABIDE in CHRIST?

Joh 15:10
IF YOU KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS , you shall ABIDE in my love; even as I have k ept my Father's commandments, and ABIDE in his love.

4. "Let people see your good works." (do not hide your light under a basket.)

How do you know what good and evil Work are if you do NOT have God's 10 commandments which are the knowledge of GOOD and EVIL? (Romans 3:20; PS 119:172)

5. "End disputes quickly."

Yes and BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD (Romans 2:13; Romans 3:31). Only those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WOrd are his people. Unbelievers have no part in the KINGDOM of Heaven (Hebrews 10:26-27)

6. "Whatever causes you to sin, get rid of it."

1 John 3
4
, Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that committeth sin is of the devil;

If we continue to KNOWINGLY BRAKE any of God's 10 commandments when God has give us a KNOWLEDGE of the truth SIN will keep ALL who LIVE this way out of God's Kingdom (Hebres 10:26-27)

7. "Do not swear oaths at all."

Yep

8. "Do not return offence for offence." (Turn the other cheek.)

Yep, vengence is mine says the Lord and will be adminstered at the 2nd coming for those who continue in SIN

9. "Give what people ask of you, and give more than is required." (Go the extra mile.)

Love is the fulfilling of God's LAW for those who BELIEVE his WORD. Obedience to God's LAW is the FRUIT of FAITH. If there is no fruit your tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire (James 2:18; 20; 26; Matthew 7:12-23)

10. "Love your enemies and those who work against you."

Can anyone love another if they are not born again? Jesus says; But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you (John 5:42).

11. "Give to the poor to please God, not to gain approval from other people."

Yep

12. "Pray privately and simply, not to impress other people."

Yep

13. "Make your prayers be like the Lord’s Prayer."

Yep... And lead us not into temptation, (Matt 6:13) Temptation to what? SIN. (Braking God's 10 commandments)

14. "When you fast, do it secretly, not for show."

Isaiah 58
5,
Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
6, Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Fasting is to loose the bands of wickedness (SIN) breaking God's 10 commandments

15. "Store up your treasures in heaven, not on earth."

Mat 12:34
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Luke 45,
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Once again referring to SIN (braking God's 10 commandments) and RIGHTEOUSNESS (Obedience throught FAITH)

16. "Do not worry about your material needs."

Whatsoever is not of faith is SIN (Unbelief and braking God's 10 Commandments) (Romans 14:23)

17. "Do not worry about the future."

Whatsoever is not of faith is SIN (Unbelief and braking God's 10 Commandments) (Romans 14:23)

18. "Make God your highest priority, and he will take care of all your needs."

Commandment 1 and 2 of the 10 Commandments (No other Gods and no Idols) Exodus 20:3-4

19. "Do not judge other people." (Judge not, lest ye be judged.)

Joh 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment (according to God's Word).

20. "Do not give holy things to dogs or cast your pearls before swine."

What does it mean to you and what does it mean to be Holy?

21. "Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort those in distress."

Love is the fulfilling of God's LAW (10 commandments) in those who walk by FAITH in GOd's Word (Romans 13:8-10; Romans 8:1-4)

22. "Follow the narrow path to life." (enter by the narrow gate.)

Why is the path narrow and few find it? (John 3:16-21)

23. "Beware of false prophets."

A false messenger is someone that teaches against the LAW and the Prophets (Matthew 5:16-20; Isaiah 8:20; 1 John 2:3-4)

24. "Exercise power over unclean spirits."

God's only gives the Holy Spirit to those who OBEY him (Acts 5:32). If you are still in your SINS you have an UNCLEAN spirit

25. "Love little children, do not despise them."

You cannot love another if you are not born again. If you are born again you do not commit SIN (Brake God's 10 Commandments)

26. "Do not take the titles 'master' or 'father' for yourself."

Yep

27. "Resolve disputes in an orderly way, like this . . . "

Yep

28. "Do not oppose other believers in Christ who are not in your group."

Only those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW the Word of GOd are God's BELIEVERS those that are still in their SINS do not KNOW him who calls them (1 John 3:3-10)

29. "Have total faith in God for everything."

If your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS and your tree will be cast down and cast into the fire (James 2:18; 20; 26; Matthew 7:12-23)

30. "Be like the good Samaritan." (go, and do likewise.)

A demonstration of love.

31. "Love other people as i have loved you"

You cannot love another if you are not born again. Jesus says truly truly I say unto you unless a man is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who are born again do not practice breaking ANY of Gods 10 commandments (1 John 3:6-10)

32. "Eat bread and drink wine in remembrance of me."
33. "Wash one another's feet."

Yep

34. "Be merciful."

Love is the fulfilling of God's LAW (Romans 13:8-10)

35. "Go and teach all nations, baptising them."

Yes to prepare a people to meet God and to show them the power of God to save the sinner of which I am chief.

36. "Keep my commandments."

Now finally here you go... Why then do you teach others to brake the 4th commandment when God's LAW teaches us that SIN is breaking ANY of God's 10 Commandments (1 John 3:4; James 2:8-12)

37. "Be prepared for your master to return."

What does it mean to be prepared for Christs return?

Revelatioon 12
17,
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14
12,
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 22
14
, Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

You indeed teach against the God's LAW (10 commandments) and the Prophets something that Jesus never did teach or does the New Testament teach.

You will need to explain yourself better. I don't understand what you mean. Jesus is IMMANUEL, the mighty God, the everlasting Father. See Isa 9:6 KJV

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

You are on ignore.
Hello PS, is it me your ignoring? They are God's Words not mine and we should believe him who is calling us. Unbelievers have no part in the Kingdom of Heaven (John 12:47-48; Acts 28:22-27)

True. Even on earth, Jesus was accused of not keeping the 4th commandment. Remember we are living under a New Covenant, so why the emphasis on the Old Covenant?

Did Jesus brake God's 4th Commandments or was it the teachings of men that accused him of breaking God's 4th commandment? If Jesus broke God's LAW then he would have commited SIN and woud not have been a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Are you calling Jesus a sinner?

So in youre view under the NC is it ok to brake any of God's 10 commandment because they were a part of the Old Covenant and in your view not a part of the New Covenant?

This understandting of the scriptures does not come from God.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Good Link. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Thank you brother! As that link to the article pointed out -- "Sabbatarians maintain that the "Lord's day" is the Sabbath. They maintain that Jesus said he was Lord of the Sabbath. However this is a very weak argument and the actual evidence for the first day (Sunday) is MUCH stronger!" Amen! :)

Here is a testimony below from a former SDA of over 50 years of sabbath keeping, but thanks to the good work of the staff, researchers and writers at bible.ca, he is no longer a sabbatarian! Praise God! The bible.ca website is a powerful tool which has been used effectively to share the WORD OF GOD and reach those who are in bondage to the SDA cult with the Gospel!

I am a third generation Seventh-day Adventist of over 50 years of sabbath Keeping, but thanks to the good work of the staff, researchers, and writers at bible.ca, I am no longer a sabbatarian! Adventists are having a much more difficult time keeping the "TRUTH about the Adventist 'truth' " from its own members and prospective converts. No Seventh-day Adventist can ever have the assurance of salvation. It is "another gospel" because true Adventism is fundamentally a faith plus works concept. I have known of several Adventists who have committed suicide because the knowledge of their own sinfulness convinced them that they could never be saved. I spent over 50 years as a third generation Adventist living in constant fear of "which way the elevator would go" for me when I died, despite the fact that I committed my life to Jesus at a very early age. The problem is that I knew, deep in my heart, that God was not fooled by my outwardly obedient behavior. I sensed that even my best motives were entwined with selfishness. My search for truth began when I realized I could no longer believe in Ellen White. After a review of what was available on the Internet regarding the Sabbath versus Sunday question, I focused on the material at bible.ca. I spent a couple of weeks reading and re-reading the carefully prepared articles on Sabbatarianism and other Adventist teachings. Thanks in a huge way to the bible.ca ministry, my wife and I began attending a Bible-only, full Gospel, non-denominational church on Sunday morning. That was about four years ago. Fear of God and His judgment has been replaced with ever-increasing love for Him, and as a result of that growing love, I have no interest in using the freedom of the Gospel to continue in sin. Adventism is a more dangerous cult than ever, thanks to the absurd Judaizing of Adventist beliefs by Dr. Samuele Bacchiocchi's "New Sabbatarianism" and the despicable, blasphemous Clear Word "Bible" paraphrase that mixes the words and ideas of Ellen White with the words from the Bible to support aberrant SDA beliefs. Now that the Church has its own "Bible," it is a more dangerous cult than ever.

As I have stated before, SDA's play the same game in salvation as every other false movement of Christendom. They profess to teach that salvation is by grace through faith, but then redefine this in a way that is contrary to the Gospel. Even though they deny this, they teach that salvation is by "grace plus law, faith plus works." Their doctrine of salvation is a subtle mixture of law and grace that is a perversion of the Gospel (Galatians 1:6-9). :(
