God WORD says that we can choose to worship on the Sabbath or treat each day like the Sabbath.

the Sabbath is God's rest and a time to remind us of our Heavenly Father's love and His promise that we will get to go back HOME one day.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cRh8NqmXoE
If we regard each day as holy to Him, resting in His promises and finished work, then we keep not only the physical sabbath day holy, but each one, 7 times more days.

How ironic that half this thread is berating people who actually keep sabbaths, whose only offense is that they don't hold others to it as if by law ((though not really law, because they break the law apart and remember some and forget others))

I don't think you understand what "keeping a day holy" is. It means set apart to YHWH;

If you go to work, do your laundry, watch a football game, wach the dishes, etc. while those things are not sin but they they are not set apart, any human that says they keep every day holy/set apart is either ignorant of what set apart means or outright lying.

Genesis 2:1-3, “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their array. And in the seventh day the Mighty One completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And the Mighty One blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which the Mighty One in creating had made.”

set it apart” is word #H6942 - qadash: to be set apart or consecrated, Original Word: קָדַשׁ, Part of Speech: Verb, Transliteration: qadash, Phonetic Spelling: (kaw-dash'), Short Definition: consecrate

Only YHWH can set apart a day according to Him, no other weekly day has He every set apart.

No you are just being a legalistic Pharisee. ( could temper my words but sometimes folks need to 23rd evaluate what they believe and pray is it what God's word truly says? The Jews who killed Jesus and Christians thought they did God's will)

I have posted how I keep every day holy in another thread and In my blog.

Even washing dishes can be an act of love, especially info do it for a friend recovering from surgery.
.

Folks yelled at Jesus for doing "work" on the Sabbath also.

Anything done with a pure heart out of love for others and love for God is keeping the Sabbath.

Maybe one day you will understand what it truly means to keep God's Sabbath and not man's

I hate sharing personal information over the internet because people judge and shape weapons of your words and I don't like giving people ammo.

However God has placed it on my heart to share with you how I honor Him every day by telling you in part what I do.

I did the math. 24 hours...ten percent. 2.5 hours a day spent on worshiping God.

I don't do it to earn points but for my own spiritual health, we spend hours eating or sleeping each day. Can we not spend at least 2 and a half with our heavenly father?

Remember I said God calls people to worship Him in different ways and I don't say if you are not like me I am better but that we both should follow Jesus as He leads and maybe what he has asked of me will help you too in your walk.

Taking the time to the following has changed my life.

Just 10% of my day set aside for the Lord.

I do 5 spiritual practices
.I share in my next post..

If you dont,care just skip my posts,

I believe at least one person who reads this will care and that is all that matters for God loves each and every one of us.

If just one life is blessed, then all we do is not in vain.
.if just one sinner turns from the world and towards God and life..then ALL the angels of GOD and His saints rejoice and give thanks and praise to God.

For Jesus left the 99 sheep to find the one lost on

5 spiritual disciplines (30 minutes or more each day)

1.Worship (music, meditation, nature walk, bike ride, kayaking, swimming, etc) basically giving thanks for the wonderful blessings God has already given me.

2. Listen/ read bible

3. Outreach/ missions (cards, call someone, volunteering)
Reaching out to others and reminding them of God's love

4. Prayers/ journaling..a time for personal reflection and for me to talk to God or listen for His answers

5.5. Classwork/ bible study (steven ministry reading, disciple 1, Christ care, other Christian books or movies)

So you see I worship God every day. Each day is different because God moves me where He calls me but each day I see His blessings and His hope and I have His joy in my heart.

Sunday I go to church sometimes I serve in the children ministry as a Sunday school teacher or serve communion or whatever God leads me to do.

Monday I babysit for the Moms connect group at church and sometimes attend a yoga class an 87 lady teaches.,,it's not demonic but more of a stretching class. She is christian, we don't worship deities but she does each class by announcing us with oil on our foreheads, giving us a head and neck massage, telling us to let go of working and give our worries to God. Then she says " be kind to yourself and be kind to others."

Tuesday I attend a bible study (discipleship 1 by the Methodist conference preacher) and a Stephen ministry training class

Wednesday I volunteer and mentor and tutor 2 sixth graders, then tutor 9 teenagers at church from 4-5,

Have dinner with our church (60-120 people) and then lead a Christ care small group for moms (just 3-6 people) we plan on starting Adam Hamilton video series "Half truths"

(anyone else tired yet? Lol but God gives me energy to do it..,just not list it all) anyway keep in mind I have a husband and two kids 9 and 12 to care for as well.

Thursday is my family day. Sometimes I go to the elementary school in the morning but this is the day I normally clean the house and my family cuddles on the couch watching a Netflix movie...However during wrestling season. Not so much since my son wrestles with his middle school team.

Friday I prepare food so I don't have to cook Sat. Sometimes we go camping on the weekends

Sat I do what ever reminds me of my true home and my heavenly father's love. This Sat I spent at a Messianic service, listening to a friend, buying food at an oriental srore, petting animals at a pet store, bday party

washing your own dishes is not the same aqs doing it for another person.

You are being judgmental, I said only one day has been set apart by YHWH and that is true, but Im the pharisee?

maybe one day you will understand you dont know the heart of others.

OK sure.

Isaiah 58New King James Version (NKJV)
Fasting that Pleases God
58 “Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet they seek Me daily,
And delight to know My ways,
As a nation that did righteousness,
And did not forsake the ordinance of their God.
They ask of Me the ordinances of justice;
They take delight in approaching God.
3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and You have not seen?
Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?’

“In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure,
And exploit all your laborers.
4 Indeed you fast for strife and debate,
And to strike with the fist of wickedness.
You will not fast as you do this day,
To make your voice heard on high.
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen,
A day for a man to afflict his soul?
Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush,
And to spread out sackcloth and ashes?
Would you call this a fast,
And an acceptable day to the Lord?

6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’

“If you take away the yoke from your midst,
The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 Those from among you
Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord;
And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,
And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Let's examine scripture how does GOD WANT US TO KEEP HIS FASTS AND HIS SABBATHS?

Tell me do YOU read any laws that day so not touch or wash dishes?

From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord;

Which of those commands are okay NOT TO DO DAILY?

Is it ever okay to do your own pleasure if its against God's will?

How do you honor God?

What does it mean to Keep the Sabbath?

How do we keep ANY day holy into God?

any day of the week it is not ok to go against His will, but that does not mean it is sin to watch a football game on the 4th day, where doing it on the 7th day would be.

How many days did YHWH sat apart?

and please don't come with the only good onw day a week nonsense, I think anyone who honors the 7th day Sabbath knows that it centers people to walk in His ways every day and not get distracted by worldliness. Yet, unless we are crazy rich we have to wor for a paaycheck to pay the rent and food, yet dpoing this on the Sabbath is not the intent of the Sabbath.

Also you may have to re ask you question if that did not cover it im not exactly sure with what you were getting at.

I should clarify I don't think YOU are a Pharisee but the view you can't wash dishes as SOMETHING the Pharisees would believe and that it has no basis in the Bible.

I actually think you are a beloved brother in Christ Hiz and write the above as more of an admonition than condemnation.

I come as harsh some days, but I have found that being soft spoken is often ignored.

Am I accused of "words on a page" because I know what is written, would I better sek Yah by not knowing His word? It a lose lose huh?

Yeah if you knew me, you would have never made the accusations you did to me before. I am living proof His Law is written on my heart, HIS LAW not a made up one. I use the word to test and make sure I am on the narropw path.

How do you honor God?
By seeking Him in all ways. Prayer, belief, works, understanding, and doing His will, etc etc etc.

What does it mean to Keep the Sabbath?
To set aside the 7th day for His will ONLY, not my own but His will ONLY. I am not perfect and I do error at times, but when I ahve done this I fell His presence strongly.

How do we keep ANY day holy into God?
By doing His will, however there is only one day He has set apart as holy. Has a single person ever done YHWH will every second of every day and never worked a regular job or mowed their own lawn? Anyone that says they only do His will ONLY every day is not truthful, we can pray, worshipo and do His will every day, but not all day every day. People have to work regular jobs to pay for food and shelter.

work 6 days and the 7th is set apart to YHWH, for it is YHWH who SANCTIFIES.

Where in the Bible does it say it's a sin to watch football on Sat?

If you visited someone in the hospital and their dying request is to watch one football game with you,would you deny it because it's the Sabbath?

Which is more important to God: mercy or sacrifice?

Honestly I think the harisee thing is thrown aroud way too easily here, I think many sont realize the p[harisees had their own ;law and were very vile, well the evil ones, there were good ones too that were actually killed by the others for honoring YHWH the way YHWH said as aoppeosed to how the Pharisees said.

I want to say nothing I have said is even remotely pharisee like, if so I would like for you to quote it and explain how so I may repent.

If not either way all is forgiven, we all can get froggy at times and can all misread things and misunderstand.

Comforting a dying person is not the same as me sitting on my couch with a bag of chips on my shirt watching baseball or something.

you are playing a shell game, taking something I said, altering it and say ohhh boyyy!

come on really?

so are those two the same? comforting a dying person and sitting at home watching sports?

and calling it set apart to YHWH?
