The Bible does not mention Easter at all. Neither Jesus nor the apostles
ever indicated or directed that it should be observed.

The word Easter in Acts:12:4 in the King James Version is an incorrect translation of
the Greek word pascha , which refers to Passover , not Easter. This mistake has been
corrected in modern translations of the New Testament.

Polycarp

After the death of the apostle John, a disciple of his, Polycarp,
waged a controversy over the Passover-Easter question with the
bishop of Rome, by then leader of the church started by Simon.

Still later, another disciple of Christ’s true Christianity,
Polycrates, waged a still hotter controversy over the same
Passover-Easter question with another bishop of Rome.

This theological battle was called the Quartodeciman Controversy.
Polycrates contended, as Jesus and the original apostles taught,

that the Passover should be observed in the new Christian form
introduced by Jesus and by the apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 11),

using unleavened bread and wine instead of sacrificing a lamb,
on the eve of the 14th Nisan (first month in the sacred calendar,
occurring in the spring).
-

But [the Rome church] insisted that it be observed on a Sunday.

They were a disobedient people, correct. So we learn from their mistakes and do not do as they did in their heathenism.
Hey, I understand the natural hatred for God and His Word. Jesus said this would happen.

Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Rom. 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Men will follow anything, everything as long as it isn't the perfect Spiritual instructions of God.

And what a perfect deception. If the Bible is true and there is a satan trying to turn the people of God away from Him, what a perfect way to do it, by convincing them that the God of Abraham is actually a Pagan God and the "Feasts" He created to show His Salvation plan are actually Pagan. But if you follow the god of this preacher _________________(Fill in the blank of the religion that fit's your preferred lifestyle) you can go to heaven anyway.

It is Fascinating to me how people who scour the Bible looking for a sentence or paragraph they can use to justify their own lifestyle or traditions.

The only people who preach against the Instructions of God are those who reject them.

Prov. 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Yet another post from you with not one single scripture from the New Testament that instructs us how to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant.

JLB
You have been shown repeatedly. Heb. 4:9

There remaineth therefore a Sabbath keeping to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest (the Gospel), he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

As GOD did from HIS is a direct comparison. God ceased from work and rested on the Seventh Day which is the Sabbath so that is what we should do because it is written.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
(Gen 2:2-3 KJV)

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest (receive the Gospel), any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the Gospel (HIS Rest) preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest (receive the Gospel), as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest (receive the Gospel): although the works (for the Gospel) were finished from the foundation of the world ( the Gospel has been available to them since the foundation of the world). For he spake in a certain place (GOD spoke on Mt Sinia in the giving of the Ten Commandments) of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again (HE speaks), If they shall enter into my rest (receive the Gospel).

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein (the Gospel), and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief (disobedience):

What you do not want to hear the truth?

You can ignore me, or the truth of history,
or about Gods Sabbath days if you like.

But only the truth shall make you free
"do this in remembrance of Me"

The three Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke show that on the night Jesus
Christ was betrayed, He and His disciples prepared and kept the Passover
(Matthew 26:18,Mark 14:12, 16; Luke 22:15) God’s Passover

you left out new moon festival.
it's right there in Colossians, where you say Paul is actually instructing us to keep dietary laws, feasts and sabbaths -- and also new moon festivals.
so why will no one tell me how i am to keep it? people are ready to tell me i am condemned - despite my faith in Christ -
:(
you leave me out
Sabbaths is plural in Colossians sixteen and is in reference to the Sabbaths contained in the Book of the Law. These are they which were handwritten.

14) Blotting out the handwriting to the ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

The text reads the handwriting to the ordinances that were against us; not the handwriting of ordinances. The Decalogue is of the Ordinances, not the handwriting to the ordinances. The Ordinances are the Decalogue and the Commandments and Statutes contained in the Book of the Law that pertained to righteousness. These are they which let us know what sin is. These Were not against us. The Judgements and Statutes that related to when we sin were.

And having spoiled (stripping off) principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Through Christ there is no need for the principalities and powers; the handwriting to the ordinances contained in the Book of the Law that were mandated due to our sinning because through Jesus we do not need them. They condemned due to our sinning. We now have victory over sin through Christ. And if we do sin we have an Advocate (Helper) toward the Father; Jesus Christ!

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
(Col 2:14-17)

The word therefore draws verse 16 and 17 into the context of what was previously stated in verses fourteen and fifteen. There is no doubt these text are referring to the meat and drink offerings, festivals and Sabbaths that were in the handwriting to the ordinances. This is what the Scripture say. A proper rendering of the text and Context proves this.

this is totally not an answer to why or why not a believer is condemned to hell for wearing blended fabric.

Leviticus 19:19 is not difficult to understand; it is a very clear statement.

it is Law.

must i obey it ((or else!!)) or no?
why, why not?

No; This statute was fulfilled in Christ. It was instituted as were others so that they stood out as GOD's people.

Christ is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
(Eph 2:14; Gal 3:27-28;Col 3:10-11 )

it's right there where the prophet says "from one new moon to another, from one sabbath to another"
This is a future prophecy that relates to us in Heaven worshipping GOD. It shows that the Sabbath is still recognized in the future when we are in Heaven as is the cycles of the moon.
The word for new moon here is most often translated month throughout the Holy Writ. Weather it relates to the festivals or not is speculative outside of The fact that the Levitical priesthood and the Temple services which received the meat and drink offerings and morning and evening sacrifices on the new moon festivals and sabbaths contained in the handwriting to the ordinances (the Book of the Law) were down away with in Christ.

if i don't observe it. but no one is ready to tell me how to observe it?
i've been asking for months, and no one replies.
You don't have to. But this is what the LORD says pertaining to how we need to keep the Sabbath.

Heb. 4:9,10

There remaineth therefore a Sabbath keeping to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest (the Gospel), he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest (the Gospel), lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (disobedience).

Good post. Not a Polycarp fan but history is history.

It amazes me. Jesus instituted the bread and wine sacrament on the Passover.
Most professing churches recognize the Sacrament and some even instituted foot washing to remind us to be humble and in constant service to others. But yet ignore the day that it was done on even though sin is still in the world and the fulfilment has not yet came into full fruition.

Granted the Passover Lamb (Christ) was slain from the foundation of the world. But there is no text within the Holy Writ that says that this high service was done away with either.

Is it a sin not to do the Sacrament on Passover?

Would make for an interesting thread.

Ok so the sabbath is the day for rest.
The feast how can I find out about those exactly and how to keep them?

The 14th day is the Passover. It is the first of God’s festivals.
In the 15th day is the feast.

Exodus 12:14-16 “And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to
the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread. And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation …”

Established as a memorial—not a shadow, a memorial—a feast—to be kept forever.
Notice, it is the day that is the feast—“[Y]e shall keep it a feast.”
It is the day that is the feast day—the 15th Abib, not the 14th—not the Passover!

Passover was also preparation day for the feast [first day of unleavened bread],
This was a high Holy day, meaning no working for money was allowed.
The last day of unleavened bread was also a no work day.

A serious difference as to the day for its observance soon arose between the Christians of Jewish and those of Gentile descent, which led to a long and bitter controversy. The point at issue was when the Paschal fast was to be reckoned as ending. With the Jewish Christians, whose leading thought was the death of Christ as the Paschal Lamb, the fast ended at the same time as that of the Jews, on the fourteenth day of the moon at evening, and the Easter festival immediately followed, without regard to the day of the week.

The Gentile Christians, on the other hand, unfettered by Jewish traditions, identified the first day of the week with the Resurrection, and kept the preceding Friday as the commemoration of the crucifixion, irrespective of the day of the month. With the one the observance of the day of the month, with the other the observance of the day of the week, was the guiding principle.

(I forget the source.)

Did you already post this same exact post about 100 pages ago? I'm having a deja vu moment.

Have you shown where the Lord Jesus Christ has said that He came to fulfill only part of the law?

I don't recall the Lord ever saying that He came to fulfill only certain parts of the law and that He would deliver us from one aspect of the law but we were definitely under the rest.

Seems like a whole lot of twisting of scripture to try and place people under the law again. Here are a couple really simple ones.

Matthew 11:28-29
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

No twisting. Those who labour and are heavy laden are those who work at the law in their own understanding and strength. The yoke of bondage is the same law that causes people to work at it in their own understanding and strength.

You know, the ministry of death written on stone... (2 Corinthians 3:10) If you don't think condemnation and death is contrary to us I wouldn't know how to convince you otherwise. I suppose all I could do is invite you to search for wisdom in the Lord Jesus Christ. Not the god that you have made out of the law but the Real God of the bible.

I asked you once how Jesus "fulfilled" the Law, "Thou Shall not commit Adultery" and how He fulfilled the Law " thou shall kill the bullock and sprinkle its blood on the alter".

Why don't you answer this question and set LB straight.

Here is Jesus word about fulfilling the law land the prophets. Take your question to him. Notice the law and prophets stand until the heavens and earth pass away!!!

Matthew 5:17 to 20 NIV

The Fulfillment of the Law
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

(NOTE: A sinless Christ: 2 Cor 5:21, Heb 4:15, 1 Jn 3:5 1 Pet 1:19, 1 Pet 2:22, fulfilled the demands of the Mosaic law, which called for perfect obedience under threat of many curses (see Deut 28:15-68)

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, """who knew no sin"""; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 By grace" are ye saved through faith not of yourselves it is the gift of God
(NOTE By Grace = God's Gift = Jesus Christ's. And by placing your FAITH in his redemptive sin atoning sacrifice. Found in a sinless Christ's death (sins wage, paid in full) & resurrection (God's receipt, payment received)

9 Not of works lest any man should boast

2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, & called us with an holy calling, """not according to our works""" """but according to his own purpose and grace""", which was """given us in Christ Jesus""" before the world began,

For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.”

“I did not come to destroy but to complete” (the Law and the Prophets)
“till the heaven and the earth pass away
“till all be done/perfected

These three must be before the Law can be done away/destroyed/abolished/etc.
“I did not come to destroy but to complete” (the Law and the OT Prophets would have to be fully completed)
“till the heaven and the earth pass away” (heaven and Earth would have to pass away)
“till all be done/perfected” (all prophecy would be done/perfected)

Have all these already happened?

Matthew 5:17-18, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete/fulfill.”

"but to complete/fulfill"

So I'm told yes He completed everything in the Law and the prophets, thus the Law (Instructions) of Yah is abolished/destroyed/done away.

So the first thing I find odd is the fact that He said 2 times, He DID NOT come to destroy the Law/prophets.… But lets look at "but to complete/fulfill" Has He completed everything written in the Law and the prophets that is for Him to compete? There is a prophecy that says Yahshua (Jesus) will return, He has not YET fulfilled/completed this;

Daniyl 7:13-14, “I was looking in the night visions and saw One like the Son of Enosh, coming with the clouds of the heavens! And He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. And to Him was given rulership and preciousness and a reign, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His rule is an everlasting rule which shall not pass away, and His reign that which shall not be destroyed.”

Revelation 19:13-15:, "And He was wrapped in a tallit dipped in blood, and the Name of Him is called: Yahshua; The Salvation of YHWH. And the armies in heaven clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him upon white horses, And out of His mouth goes a sharp, two-edged sword, that with it He should strike the nations; and He will rule over them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty YHWH.”

Ps 2:9; Isa 63:3; Rev 2:16; Rev 2:27; Rev 14:19-20; Rev 19:21

Daniel 7:14, “And to Him was given rulership and preciousness and a reign, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His rule is an everlasting rule which shall not pass away, and His reign that which shall not be destroyed."

Daniel 2:44, “And in the days of these sovereigns the Might of the heavens shall set up a reign which shall never be destroyed, nor the reign pass on to other people – it crushes and puts to an end all these reigns, and it shall stand forever.”

Zep 3:8, “Therefore wait for Me,” declares יהוה, “until the day I rise up for plunder. For My judgment is to gather nations, to assemble reigns, to pour out on them My rage, all My burning wrath. For by the fire of My jealousy all the earth shall be consumed.”

Rev 11:15, "And the seventh messenger sounded, and there came to be loud voices in the heaven, saying, “The reign of this world has become the reign of our Master, and of His Messiah, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

So we can CLEARLY see He has not yet fulfilled ALL the Law and prophets, and you know what part of the Law He has not yet fulfilled? His return and Judgment. He came as a Lamb, returns as a Lion. There are 7 “Feast” days of YHWH in Scripture. These 7 days are prophetic shadow pictures of the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] coming of Messiah Yahshua, the first 3 are about His 1[SUP]st[/SUP] coming as the suffering Lamb. The final 4 are about His 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] coming, when He returns as a conquering Lion.

Now back to the “fulfilled” passage;

Matthew 5:17-18, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.”

till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah

Has heaven and earth passed away? Take a minute to look out your window to make sure....… No it has not? Heaven and Earth is still there? If it is still there, according to the Messiah, not me, according to Him, nothing has or will pass from the Law until this happens. Does Scripture speak of a time when this will happen or is it a figure of speech?

Revelation 21:1-2, “And I saw a renewed heaven and a renewed earth, for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. And I, Yoḥanan, saw the set-apart city, renewed Yerushalayim, coming down out of the heaven from Yah, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”

Zephaniah 1:14-18, “Near is the great day of יהוה, near and hurrying greatly, the noise of the day of יהוה. Let the mighty man then bitterly cry out! That day is a day of wrath, a day of distress and trouble, a day of waste and ruin, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of a shophar and sounding – against the walled cities and against the corner towers. And I shall bring distress on men, and they shall walk like blind men – because they have sinned against יהוה, and their blood shall be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of יהוה. And by the fire of His jealousy all the earth shall be consumed, for He makes a sudden end of all those who dwell in the earth.”

Isaiah 66:22, “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make stand before Me,” declares יהוה, “so your seed and your name shall stand. And it shall be that from New moon to New moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,” declares יהוה.”

Isaiah 65:17, “For look, I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered, nor come to heart.”

So we can see it literally happens, after the return of the Messiah. So what does this mean, if the Messiah Himself said; Mat 5:18, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torahand the Messiah Himself in the book Revelation said; Rev 21:1 “the former heaven and the former earth had passed away.” Can we accept that nothing has passed from the Law? FlyingDove;3444148]Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

If you preach that God's Word's are the curse, I can see how you might think this. But death is the curse, not the instructions. God's Instructions are "Holy" "Righteousness", "Just" and "Good". Why did disobedience to God's Laws have such a harsh penalty? Paul explains.

Rom. 7:13 Was then that which is good (God's Laws)made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

This doesn't say that God's Instructions are the curse as you imply, it is disobedience to God's Instructions that cause the Curse. God's Penalty is so great so that people interested in following God would know just how wicked, Evil, and Disrespectful it is to reject His Words. Transgression is so bad it killed us. This should be incentive for us to do as Jesus instructed, "Go an sin no more". Jesus forgave us and gave us a clean slate.

Why? So we could continue to transgress God's Instructions and create our own as the Mainstream Church of His Time did?? God forbid.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, """who knew no sin"""; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him
How might we be made the righteousness of God? Can we continue to follow religions that cause us to transgress the Commandments of God by religious traditions and Doctrines? Or are we to "Repent, turn to God, and bring forth "works" worthy of repentance?

If Jesus does it all for you which is what you imply, then why does the Harlot have to worry about sinning any more. Why did Jesus tell her to "Go and Sin no more"? If God's Law is the curse as your preach, then didn't He become her curse too?

He didn't say "Go and I will sin no more for you.", I will become God's Righteousness for you. He said to "go and transgress the Commandments of God no more.

How is this "fulfilling" the Law "Thou Shall not commit Adultery"

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
This was written after Jesus died, Are you saying death is no longer the penalty for people who "Transgress the Commandments of God by their own religious traditions?

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 By grace" are ye saved through faith not of yourselves it is the gift of God
(NOTE By Grace = God's Gift = Jesus Christ's. And by placing your FAITH in his redemptive sin atoning sacrifice. Found in a sinless Christ's death (sins wage, paid in full) & resurrection (God's receipt, payment received)
You will find no argument from me that I am underserving of any forgiveness implemented by Jesus on my behalf. My past sins are paid in full through nothing I have done. I didn't create the instruction, or the penalty, I can't forgive myself. But the scriptures say:

Rom.3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

All sin is Past sin. Jesus gave me a clean slate to start again, become a new man. He became the curse or "death" I deserved.

But what happens if I reject His Instructions again? Dishonor Him again by rejecting His instructions and create my own? Continue to transgress God's Instructions by my own traditions?

Rom. 11: 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Being cut off and not spared if we don't "Continue in His Goodness" seems to imply that God Still has instructions, and the penalty for rejecting them. That Jesus, who said His Word's in the Law and Prophets will stand as long as the earth is here.

So all is not yet been fulfilled which is written in the Law and Prophets about Jesus has it? We still have His 2nd coming, the 1000 year reign and the Great Throne Judgment. So part of His "Work" is finished, but not all.

9 Not of works lest any man should boast
I can do nothing to forgive myself. But this scripture doesn't erase the rest of the Bible.

2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, & called us with an holy calling, """not according to our works""" """but according to his own purpose and grace""", which was """given us in Christ Jesus""" before the world began,
You have works, everyone has works. The question is whose works are they? Man's or God's? WE used to reject God's Works and follow our own. But that behavior killed us. Are you preaching Jesus died so we don't have to change, repent?

1 Cor. 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

God's Instructions are not from man, they are not religious traditions of man, they are the "Good" Just and Holy and perfect Works of God. His Sabbath is a "Work of the Lord" is it not? Is Christmas?

I asked how Jesus "fulfilled" the Commandment "Thou Shall not Commit Adultery". You told how Jesus forgave me of this sin, but you never answered the question.

In your religion can I cheat on my wife as many mainstream preachers do, and be righteous before God?

I know it is popular in Mainstream Christianity to preach that God's Words are the curse of mankind. But because I believe EVERY Word of God, I know this preaching doesn't come from Him.

Nothing has passed from the Law! The Law is still in full force and effect! The end (purpose) of the Law is still to persuade people that they can't please God by their own efforts; and to demonstrate their need for a Savior and point them to Jesus. God never expected people to be able to obey the Law to His standards. Abraham, Job and all the other OT saints were saved by the same faith in Jesus that we are.
What you have said above is correct. However, what you are not teaching others is that the POWER of God unto salvation is from SIN (Breaking God's Commandments) for all those who BELIEVE the Gospel of Christ. We are not saved IN SIN.

If you KNOWLINGLY PRACTICE SIN YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING GOD AND ARE STILL IN YOUR SINS AND DO NOT KNOW HIM, OR THE POWER OF GOD (the Gospel) (1 John 2:3-4; 1 John 3:6-10)

We have a God that saves the sinner from SIN not in SIN.

We indeed cannot save ourselves but we have a Saviour who can make us walk on water if we BELIEVE.

It is God that works in those who BELIEVE and ABIDE in HIM. By FAITH in God Word it is God that works in the Sinner who BELIEVES producing the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE to God's LAW (10 Commandments) through LOVE. This is the fulfilling of God's LAW in those who BELIEVE to be free from SIN for those who by FAITH ABIDE in Christ. (Romans 13:8-10; Romans 8:1-4)

If your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear son (GRACE through FAITH). SIN will keep all those who KNOWLINGLY practice it out of God's KINGDOM (Romans 6:23; Hebrews 10:26-27).

.............

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

Hello Grandpa,

You seems a litlte mixed up. God's Word does not agree with your interpretation of it. How do you interpret Jesus fulfiling God's Law as meaning God has abolished God's LAW?

If that was the case there would be no need of a Savior and everyone is free to commit sin.

Yet we read in Romans and all through God's Word that God's LAW (10 Commandments) is the KNOWLEDGE of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS, the very standard of the OLD AND NEW COVENANTS and the Judgement to come.

WHAT IS GOD'S LAW FOR?

Romans 3
20,
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.

WHAT IS SIN?

1 John 3
4,
Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW.

GOD'S LAW IS THE STANDARD OF THE OLD COVENANT....

Exodus 34
28,
And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote on the tables THE WORDS OF THE COVENANT , THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.
GOD'S LAW IS THE STANDARD OF THE NEW COVENANT....

Hebrews 8
10,
FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, said the Lord; I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS AND WRITE THM IN THEIR HEARTS; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

GOD'S LAW IS THE STANDARD IN THE JUDGEMENT....

James 2
8,
If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:
9, But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.
12, SO SPEAK YOU AND SO DO AS THEY THAT SHALL BE JUDGED BY THE LAW OF LIBERTY.

YEP it seems you are a little mized up if you BELIEVE you God's LAW has been ABOLISHED and you are now free to SIN and live as you like. God's Word disagrees with you and tells us that IF YOU PRACTICE KNOWN SIN IT WILL KEEP YOU OUT OF GOD'S KINGDOM.

Hebrews 10
26
, For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it.

...........
