Hi friend...I believe the whole problem of Commandment-keeping INCL Sabbath can be pinned down to the fact that trad christians do NOT worship/follow/obey the LORD OF THE SABBATH....they indeed worship a jesus who is an IMPOSTER and false christ from Rome whom the REAL Yashua warned against Mat 24...his lawlessness is obvious to a blind man...and when the blind follow the blind we know what happens....will happen !
It is a fascinating dilemma to be sure. People claim to honor the two Great Commandments in the Law, yet refuse the instructions God gave as to how to honor them.

The Pharisees did the exact same thing. They rejected God's instructions on how to serve Him, and created their own.

And when a nobody maggot turd, or a lowly tax collector, or God Himself in the Flesh shows them their error, they mock, insult, and work to discredit and silence.

An age old process that will continue until Jesus comes back.

Re: A New Commandment I Give You

What do the 10 commandments excluding the 4th commandment, not cover please?
There are no 10 Commandments without God's Sabbath.

Re: A New Commandment I Give You

487 Save someone being pursued even by taking the life of the pursuer — Deut. 25:12

488 Not to pity the pursuer — Num. 35:12

545 The courts must carry out the death penalty of stoning — Deut. 22:24

546 The courts must carry out the death penalty of burning — Lev. 20:14

547 The courts must carry out the death penalty of the sword — Ex. 21:20

548 The courts must carry out the death penalty of strangulation — Lev. 20:10

549 The courts must hang those stoned for blasphemy or idolatry — Deut. 21:22

550 Bury the executed on the day they are killed — Deut. 21:23

555 The court must not kill anybody on circumstantial evidence — Ex. 23:7

51 Not to bow down before a smooth stone — Lev. 26:1 (Idolotry)

189 Not to benefit from an ox condemned to be stoned — Ex. 21:2 (Cruelty)

008 Not to destroy objects associated with His Name — Deut. 12:4 (Idolotry)

596 Destroy the seven Canaanite nations — Deut. 20:17

597 Not to let any of them remain alive — Deut. 20:16

598 Wipe out the descendants of Amalek — Deut. 25:19

599 Remember what Amalek did to the Jewish people — Deut. 25:17

600 Not to forget Amalek's atrocities and ambush on our journey from Egypt in the desert — Deut. 25:19

603 Not to offer peace to Ammon and Moab while besieging them — Deut. 23:7

They were about to stone the woman caught in adultery. Jesus intervened and saved her life. What do you think Jesus would make of these?
Is not God the Judge? Will we convene a court in "That day" and will we not all be judged by the 12 tribes? (Spiritually speaking)

Jesus understood this because he and His Father were on the same page. The Pharisees were not because they rejected his Instructions.

Matt. 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; (Transgress God's Commandments)42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Is this not referencing the same "court" the scriptures refer to? We all have the same chance as the harlot, To repent and "Go and sin no more", if we refuse, the "court" MUST carry our the sentence as God Commanded. Jesus is completely on board with these commands. It was the Pharisees who didn't understand them.

Leviticus 20 is very clear about what to do with someone caught in adultery. Jesus did not do that.

and, a lot of early manuscripts did not have this story.

That is news to me. So explain why the 6th commandment given by God says not to kill (murder-premeditated killing) and yet the god in Leviticus 20 says kill, kill, kill?

And she was dead spiritually as the Law commanded, just like Paul was; "The Commandment came and I died" just as the Law prescribed.

Jesus says " I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Did Jesus give this woman the same chance that we all get?

"Now go and commit adultery no more". The Law did it's job, killed this woman, she has only one place where she can be "freed" from this death, so this Law lead her to Christ as it is written. She is forgiven and Jesus told her to "Bring works worthy of forgiveness (Repentance)

Not difficult to understand at all.

the beginning of John 8 probably wasn't part of the original book of John

so what would Jesus do if faced with a stoning situation?

the scriptures don't really say

Come on! They buried people up to the neck and hurled stones at them till they were dead.

No, the law did not kill this woman and Jesus saved her life.

Now, tell me why the god of Moses said to kill, kill, kill, when the 6th commandment said NO.

yes, the Law came through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

by the way. though I see what he was saying, i'm wondering how long it will take studyman to figure out that by what he said, he proved himself wrong in that he goes on and on about how the Pharisees did not keep the Mosaic Law, they made their own, yet he said in that post they were keeping the Mosaic Law, and Jesus saved the woman.

Did the law do it's job?

Is so she and the man should have been put to death?

Command 7. You shall not commit adultery.

Leviticus 20:10

10 “The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death.

Deuteronomy 17:6-7
6 Whoever is deserving of death shall be put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness. 7 The hands of the witnesses shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from among you.

Putting aside the fact that Jesus could not condone her to death under the Roman empire he could not condemn her under the law.

Why?

Where was the man?
There had to be at least two witnesses.
Where were they?
And if they were there then it seems we a voyeur's.
Let's say there were two who stumbled upon them.
Why were they not there?
They would have had to have been there as they were the ones who were to start the stoning.

This whole episode was to trap Jesus and he saw right through it.
The woman was probably guilty as she did not deny it.

"He who has not sinned cast the first stone"

Jesus is asking for the witnesses to step forward.
They would have been under oath and were to cast the first stone.
Therefore she could not be stoned.
Therefore he could not condemn her.

Jesus is also showing the compassion of God towards the sinner and at the same time silenced the hypocrites.

"Now go sin no more"

Grace and mercy was revealed to this woman.

There you go, making up crap again. When did I say the Pharisees were following God's Commandments? They had chosen satan as their god. When did Moses ever command satan's children to judge people.

BillG;3478742]Did the law do it's job?

Command 7. You shall not commit adultery.

Leviticus 20:10
Rom. 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

Are you denying that this is true? Are you saying this didn't happen to the woman in question?

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Jesus acknowledged her sin. Yes? Didn't He tell her the same thing He said to Cain? And everyone else ever born?

Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

"Now Go and Sin no More"

What is the difference between Jesus Word's here, and Jesus Word here:

Gen. 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

God's Grace and Mercy was also shown to Abraham and offered to Cain who rejected it.

The woman Jesus gave His Command to "go and sin no more", do believe she ever committed adultery again? Or are you part of the religion that preaches it is impossible for this woman to live without committing Adultery?

When Moses wrote the Law books.
So Moses wrote God's instructions for satan's children.

Well that does explain why you preach against Him so hard. That clears up a lot. Thanks for sharing that with me.

Your point is not relevant to the fact that under the law Jesus COULD NOT CONDEMN HER.

However yes I agree with you.
I believe this woman walked away after meeting Jesus.
I believe his words to her would have comforted her soul.
I'm sure that as she looked at him she would have seen the love and compassion for her.
And when he said "Go sin no more" I'm sure as she went on her way she would have been saying something along the lines off.

"I know I have done wrong and I deserve what should be forthcoming, yet this man called Jesus does not codemn me (I'm assuming she knew the punishment for adultery)"

So yes I think as a result she went away with a renewed heart, one that no longer wants to commit adultery.
I think as a result of the encounter she was set free from it.

Part of me thinks that maybe she went away like the woman from the well.

John 4:29
29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

"Could this be the Christ?

I have no religion.
I love Jesus, want to see people released from sin, want people to know that Jesus does not condemn them.
After all it's the truth that will set us all free and that truth is Jesus.

Not to sin, to grow in him.
In him all things are possible.
