Heb 4:10: For he that is entered into his rest [received the Gospel], he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.

Because of receiving the Gospel we cease from our own works as GOD did from His.
Correct.

"As is" is a direct comparison. So with that you must ask yourself how and when did God cease from his own works?
The answer to that is recorded in Gen 2.... on the Seventh Day, And God did rest from all His work on the seventh day (see Hebrews Verse 4 and Genesis Chapter 2:1-3).
God's rest after seven days was a permanent rest due to the work being completed.

God Is a Spiritual Being he is always in the state of Spiritual Rest.
As is our spiritual rest in God.


HE did not enter into the Rest of the GOSPEL. On the Seventh Day, the Sabbath he ceased from the physical labor of creation. And this is recorded in Genesis 2.
The Gospel came later, the physical work came first.

Therefore they that have received the Gospel Rest, cease from their own physical work as God did from His physical work on the 7th day Sabbath.
Correct. The person who enters into the 'Gospel Rest' is able to rest from their own self-justifying PHYSICAL works of law keeping, due to the later finished work of salvation by Jesus on the cross. This is the end of physical law-keeping for us, and the beginning of a New Law, the New Covenant, that is written on our hearts.

And this is, was and will continue to be done on the Seventh day of the week.
The 'Gospel Rest' of salvation is permanent as was God's creative act, and Christ’s finished work on the cross which is also permanent. No longer does our salvation depend on the observance of Mosaic rites and ceremonies repeated every seven days. These were ended by the finished work of our spiritual salvation by Jesus on the cross, which is for all time.

This idea you seem to have trouble with, that has been rejected by Cain and religious men throughout history, was first presented by Jesus.

Gen. 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

The whole purpose of the Gospel is to teach us to "do well". To "Repent" and change from doing our definition of righteousness, and turning to God's definition. Not what Cain thought was acceptable, or religious man. But what Jesus, the God of Abraham, thought was "Doing well".

It's an age old concept that "Many" will refuse to accept, as it is written.

to my knowledge, real rest is only in Jesus, rest is sabbath. Jesus never give second quality, olways first and genuine rest/sabbath.

businessman may close his office on Saturday but his mind may not rest.

Jesus promise to give rest who ever come to Him,

Jesus not say : come to me, I will give you rest, but wait, to day is Sunday no delivery on Sunday the UPS only deliver on Saturday.

"On the Sabbath day offer two one-year-old male lambs without any defects, 4 pounds of flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering, and the wine offering. This burnt offering is to be offered every Sabbath in addition to the daily offering with its wine offering."

They slaughtered two lambs every Sabbath, in addition to the daily sacrifice.

The priests killed the lambs on the Sabbath, they made fires to burn them despite the fact that kindling a fire was expressly forbidden in Exo_35:3. And it was done in the temple, in the place of holiness, where the law should have been most strictly observed.

So much for your Sabbath teaching.
Jesus, in His infinite wisdom, showed us exactly how the deceiver works in the beginning with Eve. The deceiver uses parts of God's Word to trick those with whom it is talking to, into rejecting God's Word. Eve fell for it, Abel didn't.

You use this scripture regarding the duties specifically for Levite Priests, but you omit the part that tells us these duties were for the Priest, not for the people. You omit the scriptures that tell us that these duties were Part of the Levitical Priesthood Law. So these Priests were following God's Law, not breaking it as you want to deceive readers into believing.

You also omit God's Word that speaks to a time when Jesus will "CHANGE" this Priesthood, and will become the High Priest Himself. (Jer. 31)

You use selected Word's of God, as did the serpent, to promote an agenda, a religion, which teach against obedience to God and His Instructions, as did the serpent. In this case His Sabbath.

You must do this because if you consider and use "EVERY" Word of God, your religious traditions would be exposed as coming from man and not from God. The Pharisees encountered the same problem.

Maybe you have been given this power by the Pope or Benny Hinn, or maybe it is self exaltation, I don't know. But one thing for sure, it didn't come from the Scriptures.

funny how you talk about something not being from Scripture. you say God told Abraham to keep the Law of Moses ( not in the text ), the thief on the cross next to Christ already knew and accepted Him as Lord ( not in the text ), and James told gentiles to go to synagogue and hear Moses ( not in the actual letter, and Philippi did not even have a synagogue ).

I prefer to actual use the text and not insert stuff into it.


on a personal note, truthers like you do far more harm than good, and those of us who are trying to wake folks up to the n w o and the technocracy they are setting up, and the only hope is Christ, you come along with all this non-Biblical non-sense, and put them right back to sleep.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

If you would only accept that Paul is speaking to two different Laws in his letters.

The Law of Works = Levitical Priesthood duties and sacrificial ceremonies to address the remission of sins.

Law of Faith = Ten Commandments, definition of Holy, Clean, Righteous and unholy, unclean, unrighteous.

The Mainstream Preachers of that time did not accept that Jesus had the Authority to "CHANGE" the Priesthood so they continued furthering their version of the Levitical Priesthood "works of the Law" they called "The Law of Moses".

These Mainstream Preachers were trying to push their religion on the New Converts in Acts 15, as well as "bewitch" the Galatians with their "works of the Law".

Peter and James knew of their traditions and doctrines which Jesus said were created from "Commandments of men". They would have been present with Jesus when He exposed them.

Matt. 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

And again;

Matt. 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

So if we believe in the Son of God and His Word's, we would know that the Pharisees didn't teach the 10 commandments, but had created their own version of God's Laws.

This is why Peter rebuked them and why James directed them away from the Pharisees "which believed" and towards to true Commandments of God, and instructed them to continue learning from God when the Scribes read God's Word each Sabbath, which is exactly what Jesus instructed the Apostles to do in;

Matt. 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

It's about what the Bible teaches Dan.

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

All these thing are "Written Law". And for the people Paul is speaking of, these are washed, and set apart, and justified.

Set apart and sanctified for what? So you can continue to do the things you were washed of? So you can judge God and His Word? Create your own version of righteousness?

The Bible isn't about your religious traditions or doctrines Dan. It isn't about justifying your lifestyle. It's about how to become acceptable to God.

1 I beseech (Beg) you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.


2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I know what the Pope says about God's Sabbaths. Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn, Jimmy Swaggert, etc. I know what they preach about God's Sabbaths.

But Jesus warns over and over about being deceived by "MEN", who come in His Name. It's a no-brainer for me. Jesus created His Sabbath for men, I am a man, therefore He created it for me. He said to remember it, and to keep it Holy. He said it many times in the examples He had written for my admonition.

You are free to spend your days looking for justification for rejecting the Word's of God which go against your religious traditions. And as it is written, Jesus will make sure you find it.

My hope is that you might consider that maybe, just maybe, Jesus knew what He was doing when He created His Commandments for men.

the concern is about what Paul is teaching the Jews

i see a strong implication that no one is concerned that Paul is not teaching the gentiles about the law
The Jews were upset because Paul, in teaching only those things which Moses and the Prophets did say would come, is exposing their religious traditions that Jesus said were from "Commandments of men". I think it is a mistake to imply that the Jews "custom" was following God's Laws.

You still have not told me where you found the Blood of Jesus to drink and the Flesh of Jesus to eat, which is required for you to be saved. The answer to your question lies in the answer to mine.


My guess is you won't answer because you really aren't really interested in understanding what these Words mean, rather, you are only interested in justifying your religious traditions.

For 'command keeping' read 'law keeping' which nobody can fully keep, neither should they if commanded to kill by stoning, and are therefore condemned.

Following those laws will actually send you straight to Hell.

This idea you seem to have trouble with, that has been rejected by Cain and religious men throughout history, was first presented by Jesus.

Gen. 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

The whole purpose of the Gospel is to teach us to "do well". To "Repent" and change from doing our definition of righteousness, and turning to God's definition. Not what Cain thought was acceptable, or religious man. But what Jesus, the God of Abraham, thought was "Doing well".

It's an age old concept that "Many" will refuse to accept, as it is written.

These are God's commandments that Jesus updated, about which he said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (Joh 14:15)

Saturday Sabbath is abolished.
The Pope abolished God's Sabbath that Jesus created for man and her daughters further the deception. Not Jesus, He said just the opposite.

Matt. 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

He hasn't returned yet so "ALL" has not been fulfilled.

This is another teaching Jesus specifically warned of, that is why He told this to me, He knew you would be teaching that Jesus came to "abolish" His Fathers Commandments.

I am presenting nothing, I am showing you what Jesus presented. He is the Author of my Faith and Salvation. He said "Many" would come in His Name and tell lies about Him. So I follow Him and His Words, not the doctrines and traditions created by men who, "Transgress the Commandments of God by their own religious traditions.

Yes what you said was incorrect in order to stay saved we must look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

If you would only accept that Paul is speaking to two different Laws in his letters.

The Law of Works = Levitical Priesthood duties and sacrificial ceremonies to address the remission of sins.

Law of Faith = Ten Commandments, definition of Holy, Clean, Righteous and unholy, unclean, unrighteous.

The Mainstream Preachers of that time did not accept that Jesus had the Authority to "CHANGE" the Priesthood so they continued furthering their version of the Levitical Priesthood "works of the Law" they called "The Law of Moses".

These Mainstream Preachers were trying to push their religion on the New Converts in Acts 15, as well as "bewitch" the Galatians with their "works of the Law".

Peter and James knew of their traditions and doctrines which Jesus said were created from "Commandments of men". They would have been present with Jesus when He exposed them.

Matt. 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

And again;

Matt. 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

So if we believe in the Son of God and His Word's, we would know that the Pharisees didn't teach the 10 commandments, but had created their own version of God's Laws.

This is why Peter rebuked them and why James directed them away from the Pharisees "which believed" and towards to true Commandments of God, and instructed them to continue learning from God when the Scribes read God's Word each Sabbath, which is exactly what Jesus instructed the Apostles to do in;

Matt. 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
so in order to stay saved we must follow the ten commandments is what you believe?

any other written commandments in addition to those?
