valiant,
re: "Jesus made crystal clear that He did not consider the 4th command important enough to mention to the rich young ruler (Matt 19.16-19)."

Studyman,
re: "He didn’t mention the first and greatest commandment to the rich man either."

And to be more specific, He didn't mention the first three commandments to the rich young ruler either. So to be consistent, valiant must be saying that the Messiah also didn't
consider the first three commandments important enough to mention.

yes and the truth is that the New Testament NOWHERE requires Sabbath observance, although it allows it..
We must understand that 'Loving God and neighbour the 10 Commandments are stll taught by Jesus in the NT - but ''not commanded as in the letter of the OT'..... NOW they should be an 'act of Love we WANT to do and keep'....applied in a different way ! can you accept and understand that ? they are no longer forced on us with resulting instant death (stoning)....Now they (the 10) come as a 'package of GRACE (pardon from instant death) to give us time to learn to do and keep them because God wants us to Love Him and each other ALWAYS into all eternity....can you accept and believe that ?
So they are not abolished but UPheld in a different way than in the OT...it's a law of Love and truth, dwell on it to absorb it ...don't reject it out of hand. Jesus showed BY EXAMPLE....not necessarily by commanding !

Gods Sabbath.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

John 15:4-5

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Hebrews 4:4-11

4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

This is very true ! but since we know that the '10 Commands are a complete package deal' Deut 5v22 to which God added no more.... it is also understood that none can be broken even if not everyone is mentioned .

there is not Scripture in the N.T. that says " believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and keep the Sabbath ( gentiles were never under the law anyway ). that is what you and others are saying. not the Word.
True, gentiles were never under [any] law meaning they were not the people of God as were Israel...but what does scripture say ? Jesus has to bring in other sheep (gentiles) and make them all ONE flock. Christians seem to think they are some exception and a class of their own...no they are not meant to be strangers from Israel...Jesus died for sinners/transgressors of God's ways so we can all become ONE !!! ALL men must turn to HIM !

If your thinking you can have me stand in fear to be judged think again your placing yourself in danger to be judged, by imposing your view on others. I am well aware that I can't open your eyes, neither could I impose my view on you if I tried. I am quite aware of pride of accomplishment. Leading us to think otters should perform as well as we are. This is what I meant by your meant to fall just as I was. When I was a young Christian I took pride in hearing the Lord, then He told me: Your gona fall that you may learn to continually repent. God hates the teaching of dictators The meaning of Nicolaitans Revelation 2:6.
He also told me to stop arguing with you. bye
It seems that the TRUTH is very hard come by...and if not by discussing then HOW peacefully ? I hate arguing and disagreement but it's surely better than to see people go down the road to destructiin !
You see...the pride you speak of is yours, not those who speak the Word of God ! that is another bitter pill to swallow for all who want to die to self and truly follow Christ !

"All of you trying to fulfil the law are fallen from grace," To chose to honor God a day above another and be convinced, will not put you under the Law, but to enforce it on others will. The evidence being that your life will nor reflect Grace: God's influence. you will reflect the dictate of the Law, and become a dictator, putting yourself under the judgment you impose on others. Don't forget your a sinner saved by grace. There is no benefit in proving ourselves righteous before God. It's to late for that, that was to bring us to Christ.
It's never been about following the law its always been about following Christ by faith through love alone. Faith that works by love is what fulfills God's Law in those that walk in His Spirit (Romans 13:8-10).

Obedience is only the fruit of faith and a sign that someone is genuinely following God's Word (Matthew 7:17-27). If you seek obedience without faith you will never attain it because this is the gift of God written on the heart (Ephesians 2:8; Galatians 2:16; Hebrews 8:10-12).

But if you believe God's Word, your faith will be counted for righteousness in God's eyes (Romans 1:17; Philippians 3:9). If your faith does not have the fruit of obedience (God's work in you) than you are still in your sins and have not seen him or known him and your faith is dead (Philippians 2:13; Hebrews 10:26-27; 1 John 2:2-4; 1 John 3:3-9).

What we are talking about is SIN and how SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's Kingdom. If you profess to have saving FAITH but your faith does NOT have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE to God's Word then your faith is DEAD and you are still in your SINS and do not KNOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE all as he first LOVED us. LOVE is the fulfilling of the LAW in those who walk by FAITH in God's Spirit. (James 2:18; 20; 26; Romans 13:8-10; 1 John 3:3-10; James 2:8-12; Matthew 7:13-20)

There are only two classes of people spoken about in God's Word. These are those that follow God by Faith through LOVE and those that do not. Those that do NOT BELIEVE have rejected His Word. Those that have NOT Heard the WORD are ignorant and God winks at. Those that have heard the Word however and have rejected God's Word are UNBELIEVERS and unless they repent and confess their SINS they WILL NOT Enter into God's Kingdom (Hebrews 10:26-27)

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

PS. I noticed you have not responded to any of my questions? Its ok maybe you can answer them for yourself you do not need to answer them here if you do not wish to.

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

thanks bro...... maybe u should make a thread on how to keep the sabbath u see........... many tings brought up
Yes Muz, maybe a good idea. It is not that hard with the instructions of Jesus very simple really only a few points....

1. Preparation day is Friday (Thursday evening to Friday before Sunset) finish all shopping, cooking and work and business activities before the Sabbath begins (out of sight and mind for the day of rest with God).........

2. Sabbath starts Friday sunset to Saturday Sunset; no secular work and general work activities, the time is dedicated to our Lord and can also be for doing good and remembering creation; Sometimes we spend time in nature to remember creation and look at the power of God's Word, bible study, sharing God's Word, visiting the sick, prayer, singing. It is a delight when you LOVE the LORD

Follow the Word........

4th Commandment

Exodus 20:8-11
8, Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9, Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10, But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The Sabbath is a memorial and celebration of creation and that we as God's People worship and follow the only true God of creation. It is a sign that we are His people who through FAITH keep ALL the commandments of God (Revelations 14:12; 22:14)
and a SIGN that God is saving is from our SINS (Ezekiel 20:12; 20)

May God bless you brother as you continue in His Word.....

Grandpa you are a funny one indeed. Thanks for sharing the lovely scriptures they are all wonderful but I must ask you again my friend what is your point again? None of us are telling you that we are saved by the Works of the Law. If none of us are telling you that you are saved by the works of the Law then you have nothing to argue about have you?

You always post the same things despite everyone always telling you that we believe that we are ONLY saved by GRACE through FAITH and NOT of OURSELVES it is a GIFT OF GOD and not of WORKS Lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8)

It's never been about following the law its always been about following Christ by faith through love alone. Faith that works by love is what fulfills God's Law in those that walk in His Spirit (Romans 13:8-10).

Hello friend,

Nice to see you again. You need to look a little deeper....................

JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD. IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE GOD'S WORD YOU DO NOT BELIEVE IN JESUS

Matthew 4
4,
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.

John 17
17,
Sanctify them through thy truth: THY WORD IS TRUTH.

Psalms 119
11, YOUR WORD
have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

2 Peter 1
4,
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

John 8
31,
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33,
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how say you, Ye shall be made free?
34, Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.
35,
And the servant abides not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever.
36, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

John 1

1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2, The same was in the beginning with God.
3, All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4, In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5, And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6, There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7, The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8, He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9, That was the true Light, which lights every man that cometh into the world.
10, He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11, He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12, But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13, Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14, AND THE WORD BECOME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US, AND WE BEHELD HIS GLORY, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever.

John 14
6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me
.

Matthew 1
21,
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

John 3
16,
For God so LOVED the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES on HIM SHOULD HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE

Let's put it all together...........

We are to LIVE by EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUT H OF GOD (Matthew 4:4); IF we CONTINUE IN HIS WORD THEN ARE WE HIS DISCIPLES and we shall KNOW the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall set us FRE E from SIN (John 8:31-32; 34;36). We are made HOLY BY THE WORD and ONLY God's Word is TRUTH (Psalms 119:172); We are BORN AGAIN by FAITH in the WORD

What is all this leading to, can you guess...............................

JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD the power of creation(John 1:1-14; Genesis chapters 1-2).
EVERLASTING LIFE IS GIVEN TO THOSE THAT BELIEVE EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD. THE NAME of JESUS means SAVIOR (Matthew 1:21). We are BORN AGAIN as we BELIEVE GOD"S WORD. JESUS meaning Saviour means that THE WORD OF GOD IS JESUS AND THE WORD OF GOD ARE ONE AND THE WORD IF GOD IS OUR SAVIOR AS WE BELIEVE IT! FAITH IS THE VICTORY!

To BELIEVE on the LORD JESUS MEANS TO LIVE BY FAITH IN EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD! IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD YOU DO NOT BELIEVE in JESUS because HE IS THE WORD OF GOD! JESUS IS THE WORD AND THIS IS WHAT WE ARE TO BELIEVE.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Continuing..........

John 3
16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son <the WORD> , that whosoever believes in him <the WORD> should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17, For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him <the WORD> might be saved.
18, He that believes on him <the WORD> is not condemned: but he that believe not <the WORD> is condemned already, because he
has not believed in the name <the WORD IS SAVIOR> of the only begotten Son of God.
19, And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20, For every one that does evil hate the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21, But he that doe truth <the WORD> cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

May God bless you as you seek Him through His Word...........

I wasn't speaking of Salvation.

I was speaking of Righteousness and Justification before God.

I know you don't understand either one.

But it just seems like basic reading comprehension to me. Which the legalist and judaizer apparently do not have.

Its ok. You have to purposely twist scripture in order to promote your SDA philosophy.

You are not the first circular logic SDA legalist that I have spoken to.

Righteousness is not by the law. You ignore that. You apparently don't care about Righteousness.

Justification is not by the law. You ignore that. You apparently don't care about Justification.

Salvation is not by the law. You ignore that. It appears all you really care about is working at the law.

Why do you serve the law? You don't know. You just think you need to. Because the vail is over your heart and mind and you are under the curse. Because I say so? No. Because the bible does.

In the OT there was only 'law....but in the NT Yashua/Jesus introduced 'Love and Grace as a 'better way to teach man obedience. The Commandments/God's law still stand...they are just taught with more compassion and patience to people who are slow to hear ! but God heals from any kind of sickness so that we CAN hear again if we are willing to obey His Word.
We see that Jesus 'instructed the blind, the lame and any who had maladies...but if they did not obey they would not be cured....it is the same now...walk with Jesus 24/7 and you will become whole again !...of course that means keeping the Sabbath as HE did...even though not 'commanded'. !If there is true Love between two do there have to be 'commands/orders...no ! you do from the heart what God wants ....and our Savior knows best ! If one can't see or hear the best way is to be 'led...not told or commanded !!! Let Yashua/Jesus be your 'Leader !

thanks bro...... maybe u should make a thread on how to keep the sabbath u see........... many tings brought up
No need for a thread...it's very simple - have fellowship with the Father and the Son !!! Give them your full attention in everything and be corrected in what to do and not to do ! Read His Word !

How did the human race get salvation before Jesus walked this earth?

:)-
I don't think we should add to our own problems things we can not know or change...but let every man work out his own salvation in fear and trembling.

by faith.

through Jesus Christ. the animal sacrifices could never take away sin like Jesus did.

the righteous before the cross didnt go to heaven when they died. they went to abraham's bosom where lazarus went. and the wicked people went to hell like the rich man.
