7“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
2 Sam. 22:
26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful,
and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes
are upon the haughty,
that thou mayest bring
them down.
29 For thou
art my lamp, O LORD:
and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
9“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sonsa of God.
Job. 22:21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
Ps. 34:
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Ps. 37:
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
10“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Ps. 7:
5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take
it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
Ps. 10:
2 The wicked in
his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
Ps. 119:
85 The proud have digged pits for me,
which are not after thy law. (Perfect)
86 All thy commandments
are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.
Everything Jesus said, everything He taught was already taught in His Word by Him. But the "priests" who were given the job of preaching His Word's to the people had corrupted them selves. So Jesus came, as did the Prophets before Him, in part to expose their teaching. NOT GOD's TEACHING AS YOU IMPLY.
Jesus is correcting them in Matt. 5 by reminding them of HIS WORDS already spoken to them through the Law and Prophets.
Then He made sure they understood:
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,
till all be fulfilled.
Now the Pope and her daughters teach that Jesus fulfilled "ALL" on the Cross. And while He did fulfill much of what was written in the Law and Prophets about Him, He hasn't fulfilled it all. There is still His 2nd coming, the 1000 year reign which the Sabbath Foreshadows and the great throne judgment of which He is the Judge, and the 2nd death which has not taken place.
Nothing you say or preach can destroy or make void these Biblical facts.
So this means the Word's Jesus spoke in the Law and Prophets is still in force and affect. AS it is written "The Priesthood has changed" Jesus is now fulfilling the Spiritual duties of this Priesthood in heaven. But He did not come to destroy His Words as you preach. We are still to be admonished by them and they are still HIS Commandments, His Sayings and His Words. Not because I think so, or because the Pope says so. But because my Savior and Lord Jesus the Christ says so. It's in your Bible.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:
but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed
the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,
ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
The Pharisees were teaching Commandments not spoken by the Word made Flesh. You are doing the same thing. If Jesus were here as a man today, He would say;
You have heard it said
by them of old time "My Sabbath Commandment and Words are no longer valid because they are part of the Old Covenant" but I say unto you "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
