I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.And they all forsook him, and fled. And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. Mar 14:49
I would offer because we are informed to compare the spiritual understanding hid in parables to the spiritual .(faith to faith) And the not letter of the law as that seen to the letter it kills..
If we are looking for healing seeing the letter kills we can look for similarity in each case. The linen which I think is the focus point as to its spiritual application can be seen in John and Mark. But does not appear in Luke 7. And also when looking at those parables our aid in finding out the meaning , 2 Corinthians 4:18 must be applied if we are to discover the spiritual truths hid like the pearl of great price (the gospel) .
To be clothed with that seen, the temporal, again using the rightly dividing principle 2 Corinthians 4:18 it represents that not seen , the hidden glory of God . To be found naked is to be found without Christ. To be clothed in his righteousness would mean a person does have the Spirit of Christ not seen.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
comparing spiritual things with spiritual.But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1Co 2:11
The man in Mark left the garment that represented the righteousness of Christ as a witness against them that walked by sight. The wrong manner of faith.(no faith) Not mixing faith in what they did hear or see. . .
Linen is used to represent the righteousness of Christ by which all believers are clothed as with the Sun a representative glory of His unseen glory. Sort of like when Moses wore a veil to represent the unseen glory of God.
When the Son of man was changed into his new body Christ left the linen and I don't think he had a extra set along.
Like any other work it was not attributed to the hands of men or the Satan enticed crowd Christ performed it alone..
When Lazarus was raised as a preview of the last resurrection the disciples where to remove the grave clothes .
Many parables use linen in that way .In Jeremiah 13 he uses linen underwear as a witness against those who did not mix faith in what they did hear or see.
