Different points down the same slippery slide. Note the order they occurred - Cinderella, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter. Once you start, its tricky to get off, until you reach the bottom.

Cinderella was only a harmless fairy tale, right? It had some witchcraft in, but wasn't that from a fairy godmother, who was sort of like an angel? Angels are in the bible, so I guess it was okay.

Chronicles of Narnia had a bit more magic in than Cinderella, but it was a riveting good read, and besides, wasn't that lion creature supposed to resemble Jesus? He even gave himself up for that obnoxious child, while the bad guys danced around the stone table and chanted what some claim witches chant in real life. And the good guys only used good magic, and because it was just a work of fiction, you can disregard the one or two heresies it seemed to promote.

Harry Potter has magic in it, just like tales of Narnia. And Harry Potter magic is much closer to how magic is used in real life, but its okay, because Harry Potter is a good guy, and only uses magic for good things, right? Heck, perhaps our kids could go out and learn magic like Harry, but only use it for good purposes? Perhaps we could even fight the devil with our magic, like Harry Potter fights that snakey Walldermart chap.

I think its best not to encourage our children in the ways of the devil, much as I did love the Narnia books (and even Cinderella) before I realised the ruse.

I don't know if I would say these examples are inherently evil. I certainly think it isn't the wiseset use of our time.

Isn't the message of Harry Potter that with good friends and some really good witchcraft you can conquer any obsticle and become one the cool kids, even if you're a nerd?

What is the message through the movie?
depends on the movie, watch them and see. However I have to say if you watched them thinking they are evil you will only see what you believe. now me, I am an optimist, I always am able to find good and a message from movies. God speaks to us so many more ways than just the word.

Don't you wish you could be like Harry Potter and get the Wand, the fame, the money and the girl along with it? Can't all that be yours through witchcraft and wizardry?

As long as you have a good, solid Magick Wand and some good encantations.
see what did I tell you? you look at something believing it to be something and that is all you will see. is this how you are when it comes to God and the bible? because without a breakable teachable heart we will always assume we are right and never able to learn

When you watch Harry Potter, you might start to like him. You might start to sympathize with his plight. He might begin to move you and draw you. You might even start understanding Harry Potter's initiation. And when you do, you might follow him on his journey and see the world through his eyes. And once you get finished, you realize that you haven't just read a story, but you can be Harry Potter if you do what Harry Potter did. And if you want to do what Harry Potter did, it is but a very small step to begin your journey of initiation to find out how.

If God hasn't done it, perhaps witchcraft and wizardry can. It worked for Harry Potter. Why wouldn't it work for you? Why not learn how to take the power in your own hands and change your environment for good like Harry Potter? If love conquers all, why not practice the occult art to conquer through love?

You know I can understand if there is a likeness for these type of shows and people are not willing to give them up. However if God despises witchcraft ( any form of power and manipulation that does not draw on the power of a Holy GOD) why on earth would you even try to say its ok? I dont get it:confused:

Valid argument, however people these days are far to busy chasing girls and jobs and cars and sex to even do that. and even if they did the movie didn't make them do this, it was their desire to live a life that would be great for them. the thing about mankind is that they always are searching for the good life in various ways, what they do not realize is they are actually searching for God they just don't realize it

Because first off, magic is not real, never has been never will be. Second because my love for God is far greater than the desire I have which bty is to be just like him in every way in the deepest manner. that is what he has not given me yet.

Some people are too busy with those things. But then again, the people who are too busy are not really people like Harry Potter. People you like Harry Potter are people are see something of themselves in Harry Potter.

He was abused, he needed liberation. Hogwarts provided that. He was weak, he needed power. Wizardry provided that. He was an orphan, he needed mentors. They were made available. He was alone, he needed a girlfriend. It came through the magickal environment. Harry Potter's life changed from pauper to prince the day he discovered the Wizard within himself and took up the magick craft.

And that is the kind of person Harry Potter is for.

How do you know magic is not real? If I deceive you through sleight of hand, it is magic, yet is it not a real power of real deception? And if the wizards of Egypt could turn Wands into Cobras, then maybe you could too with the right training from the right mentor.

Magic is real, and it does work. That's how it was in the past, and that's how it is today. The thing is, God specifically prohibits it - it is evil, and very dangerous. Those who practice it often give up their priceless, immortal souls, for something worth far less than even the entire world.

No they got their power from satan, they didn't realize all those false Gods they worshiped they were actually worshiping demons and the devil
