Not sinning requires spiritual intervention. The 10 Commandments given to Moses explains how man can become sinless.
I disagree. Trying to obtain eternal salvation through our working to satisfy law IS what sin itself is. Christ completely satisfied the law on the behalf of those He had chosen to salvation - there is no longer any law left for the elect to satisfy. Anyone who believes more is needed than what Christ achieved, in effect, is in direct conflict with God, and is calling God a liar because God has borne witness to, and informed us that, He was "well pleased" with Christ's offering. As the Saviour, Christ's offering covered everything to the
uttermost, necessary for our salvation.
[Rom 4:4 KJV] 4 Now to
him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
[1Jo 5:10 KJV] 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that
believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
[2Pe 1:17 KJV] 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son,
in whom I am well pleased.
There are two laws and two law alone of eternal consequence: 1) the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, and 2) the law of sin and death. Man cannot move himself from one to the other - only Christ can do that and is what brings salvation. The more one tries to do so by their own efforts, the more one sins.
[Rom 8:2 KJV] 2 For the
law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[Gal 2:21 KJV] 21 I do not frustrate the
grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Without this repentance there is no salvation.
Without first becoming saved, no one can truly repent. True repentance is in the ceasing of our works for salvation, unto
trusting of the works of Christ as Saviour for salvation, which trust, is only given to someone as a gift.
[Heb 6:1 KJV] 1 Therefore leaving the
principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of
repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
[Heb 9:14 KJV] 14 How much more shall
the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience
from dead works to serve the living God?
God changes the state of the person He chooses so that the person turns to Him for forgiveness.
God forgives sin, and from that forgiveness, one turns to Him, not before.
[Luk 1:77 KJV] 77
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
Baptism in the name of the Father occurs when He grants the repentance necessary that leads to salvation. Baptism in the name of the Son occurs when the person puts his trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. Baptism in the name of the Holy Spirit occurs when the person receives the Holy Spirit of the Father through belief in Jesus Christ in order to be perfected
All repentance is of God's work, none of it of man's - it is fully and completely a gift - but
repentance comes from and through salvation - see Heb 9:14 above - when the blood of Christ is imputed to someone, they
are then under the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, thus making them saved with repentance close to and from it. Until and unless that occurs, neither are they saved, nor will they repent.
Everything associated to salvation is by God's choice and of His work - it is entirely out of the grasp of man.
