I just wondered if anyone had any insight into the verse- "Heaven and earth will pass away but my word will last forever". It confuses me because I thought Heaven was for ever, but here it says it will pass away.
Genuine question.
Any Help anyone?

Heaven is also considered to be the physical space above the earth. We are also told that there will be a new heavens and a new earth. Confusing? Yes. So there is a spiritual realm called heaven and a natural realm, also called heaven.

The use of the word heaven, here, is in reference to: "idea of elevation; the sky"

Jesus was referencing the physical creation, that which is obsolete . . . that which "man" clings to for a lack of Fear of the Lord.

Welcome to CC, Vanessa! I would encourage you to search out the phrase elsewhere in Scripture, and consider what it means, rather than assuming its meaning through 21st-century eyes. :)

This is clarified by Peter in his second epistle, and the reference is to the first heaven (atmospheric) and second heaven (space): But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10)

The third heaven (God's Heaven) will remain untouched since it is unpolluted.

This is the Scripture you quote -----
Matthew 24:35 AMP
Amplified Bible
Heaven and earth [as now known] will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

So Heaven here is the 1st Heaven ---which is the we can see -----

This is the Hebrew word used in the Scripture for Heaven -

Strong's Concordance
ouranos: heaven
Usage: heaven, (a) the visible heavens: the atmosphere, the sky, the starry heavens

I say --so this Heaven will pass away -----God's Heaven will remain -----
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the Hebrew word for Earth used in this Scripture ----

Strong's Concordance
gé: the earth, land
Usage: the earth, soil, land, region, country, inhabitants of a region.

I say -----so here we see earth means land -and Inhabitants ------we humans are made from the dust of the ground so we are part of this physical earth ----so this physical land and inhabitants will pass away ---
