Micah 7:18 KJV(18) Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

If hell is going to burn for all eternity then this verse has to explained away, because there cannot be a hell that burns for all eternity and a God that does not retain anger for ever. They are two opposites.

this verse is specifically referring to the circumstance of the 'remnant of his heritage'...this is about God's people whose sins he forgives...it has nothing to do with hell...

Revelation 20:9 KJV
(9) And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

This text says that the fire devours them. Also read Revelation 20 it is on the earth, if God is going to create this earth new then how will He do it while people are burning on it?
fire devours an army on earth...so what?

christians have been burned up in the past too...house fires and so on...that doesn't have any bearing on their eternal fate...

this has nothing to do with hell or the afterlife...

why is it that annihilations and mortalists bring up completely -irrelevant- passages?

Ok, so I'm seeing a big debate about it right now so I just want to know what you think Hell, well honestly I prefer the term Hades, is:
A. A forever burning fire pit that last forever and ever and ever and ever and EVER! Why do you believe that, who made it(Hades) that way, and is it fair/just
B. A tempery(allowed to die)burning fire pit the last depending on how great your sins were. Why do you believe that, who made it(Hades) that way, and is it fair/just
C. Is it just death, no 'punishment'(in quotes because there are people that would see it that way), no fire. Why do you believe that, who made it(Hades) that way, and is it fair/just.

Only rule: when quoting scripture please put it in a way a 14 year old can completely understand, but put the actual quote there if you want.

Thank you for your time. God bless and have a nice day.
There is a common misconception about "hell," an Old English word translated from the Greek "hades" literally meaning "un-perceived," or "unseen," referring to the "unseen" state of a dead soul, but the meaning of "hell" has been distorted by intentional mistranslation of "Gehenna" as "hell" twelve times in the King James Version and the Douay-Rheims Catholic Version in the following verses: Matthew 5:22,29,30, 10:28, 18:9, 23:15,33; Mark 9:43,45,47; Luke 12:5; James 3:6. "Gehenna" refers to the ravine of Hinnom, southwest of Jerusalem, used by the ancient Jews to sacrifice their children in fire to Moloch, an Ammonite god, and later used to burn the corpses of criminals condemned to death as it will be in the coming eon.

"'And it comes, according to the monthly quota in its month, and according to the sabbath quota in its sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me in Jerusalem,' says Yahweh. 'And they fare forth and see the corpses of the mortals, the transgressors against Me, for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they become a repulsion to all flesh.'" (Isaiah 66:23,24)

The intentional mistranslation of "Gehenna" as "hell" has propagated the myth of "hell fire." The church, failing to suppress scripture by killing people with fire, changed scripture to terrorize people with torture in fire forever after death.

Hell is obviously not the lake of fire because the King James Version (Revelation 20:14) says hell will be cast into the lake of fire.

So dead souls in the unseen (hades) will be cast into the lake of fire-the second death, but eventually death will be abolished.

"The last enemy is being abolished: death. For He subjects all under His feet. Now whenever He may be saying that all is subject, it is evident that it is outside of Him Who subjects all to Him. Now, whenever all may be subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also shall be subjected to Him Who subjects all to Him, that God may be All in all." (1 Corinthians 15:26-28)

Hell isn't a physical place but it is void from any type of light and life. It is complete darkness. Just imagine that you were born unable to see, hear, smell, taste, and feel and which these are good things that God has provided to us and which give us life. And imagine if these things were stripped from you, but having the memories of when you had of these things. God gifts shouldn't be use for evil.

Genesis 1:2Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Genesis 1:3
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

John 1:4
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

[h=3]John 11:25[/h]
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

Matthew 8:12But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

To get a better understanding of hell, research the original Greek and Hebrew words.

Over the years the meaning of the words changed and became acceptable.

The Bible meaning is still the same. It has not adopted these new meaning, only humans.

But, didn't Jesus say (at Mark 9:47, 48), 'If your eye traps you, throw it away. For, it's better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye, than to have both eyes and to be thrown into the garbage dump (GeHenna) where there are always maggots and the fire is never put out'?
Oh yes, other Bibles render this verse, 'than to be cast into Hell Fire where the worms dieth not and the fire is not quenched.' However, remember that Jesus was talking about a garbage dump when he said, 'hopou ho skolex auton ou teleuta kai to pyr ou sbennutai,' or, 'where the maggot of/them not finished and the fire not extinguished.' Obviously, most ancient garbage dumps were kept burning and there were always maggots living there. So, does this natural description of a garbage dump really prove eternal torment? We feel that the answer is clear.
Is There a Burning Hell?

Jesus had spoken about the spiritual realm to the people by comparing it to the natural and which they were in. They wouldn't understand if He would of told them what it is actually like, and so He uses comparisons.

Matthew 13:24
Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.

Matthew 13:13

This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

John 6:63

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.
