All and every commandment is kept by the Holy Spirit if the Believer is operating and understand "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus!" (Romans 8:2)

Majority of Christians are living under the "Law of Sin and Death." Very few Christians live in "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus."

There are seven great Laws outlined in the New Testament, all devised and created by God. They are:
1. The Law of God (Romans 7:22)
2. The Law of Sin and Death (Romans 7:23)
3. The Law of the Mind (Romans 7:23)
4. The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2)
5. The Law of Faith (Romans 3:27)
6. The Law of Christ (Gal. 6:2); and,
7. The Law of Liberty (James 1:25)

Romans 8:13 says, "If you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live" (i.e., all Laws of God and commandments of Jesus can only be kept by the Holy Spirit when the Believer place his Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., the Cross, i.e., the Blood of Jesus).

Paul warns the Believer, he said, "For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, (the) sin (nature) revived, and I died (failed God by sinning, using the flesh) (Romans 7:9)."

The Way Of The Spirit
Focus: The Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
Object Of Faith: The Cross of Christ (Romans 6:1-14)
Power Source: The Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1-2, 11)
Results: Victory (Romans 6:14)

Man's Way
Focus: Works.
Object Of Faith: Performance.
Power Source: Self.
Results: Defeat!

Jesus warns us that there will be massive religious deception in His Name. Many Churches are bringing the world into the Church. When King David had his men set the "Ark of God" upon a new cart, God was displeased. David used the same method the Philistines used of transporting the "Ark of God (David borrowed an idea from the Philistines)." The Philistines represent the world. God smote Uzzah. 2 Sam. 6

It is imperative that the church no longer halt between two opinions. God demands that everything must be done by the Spirit and not of the flesh. No man can come in the presence of God in his own strength and ability. He is Holy.

Faith works in the heart and not in the mind.

I feel sure that I am in Jesus through his and our Father's discipline. From time to time I will do something selfish and God makes something go wrong so that a project is harder or takes longer than it normally would or there is something extra to do that shouldn't have needed doing otherwise. Hebrews 12:5-8 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a]

7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. (from the NIV bible)

Those who walk in the spirit will always have shortcomings (acts of sin) until the trump sounds. We must rejoice in whatever Glory we are in. God is the potter and we are the clay. He moves us from glory to glory and faith to faith. No man or woman can change their life without the Holy Spirit. Can an Ethiopian change the color of his skin? Can a leopard take away its spots? Neither can you start doing good, for you have always done evil (Jeremiah 13:23). The scripture says before He formed me in my mothers womb He approved me.

This is why we must understand what justification is and why it is the first subject in the book of Romans. It lays down the foundation as I go through sanctification.

Justification gives me the ability to get back up from every failure no matter how many times and stand up and go through this process and learn it. Justification gives us a legal standing with God that is not cancelled because of the acts of sin. So if I fail at this same thing a thousand times - God forbid! We are a work in progress. Remember Jesus said I did not come to condemn (John 3:17).

Justification is not what we do, and not what I am, and not what I worked for. It is what Jesus did and my faith in it that gives me the standing with God that I need to carry on my Christian experience. Sometime I do it well, and sometimes I do it not so well, but his justifying Grace will not fail unless my faith fails. It is just if I have never sinned and just if I have always obeyed.

Now that you are saved, you should ask the Lord to baptize you with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4).

While it is certainly true the Holy Spirit came into your heart and life the moment of your Salvation, still, He now wishes to endure you with power from on high. Consequently, Jesus told all of His followers immediately before His Ascension, that they should "wait for the Promise of the Father" (Acts 1:4). He was speaking of being "Baptized with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 1:5).

You must understand that there is a great difference in being "born of the Spirit" than being " Baptized with the Spirit." They are two different works altogether.

To be "born of the Spirit" is that which took place at your conversion, as the Holy Spirit brought you to Christ and performed the work of regeneration within your heart and life. To be "Baptized with the Spirit" is in order that you may have Power with God (Acts 1:8). Every Believer should ask the Lord to fill them with the Holy Spirit, and expect to receive (Luke 11:13).

Now that you are being saved, moving from faith to faith, and glory to glory; God has only one way to live for Him, please Him, honor Him, bring Him glory, and receive victory. That way is: Have Faith only in Jesus Christ and the Cross of Christ, i.e., Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit that dwells in you will only help you and work in your life if your faith is maintained in this perimeter.

Very thankful that someone else sees this as two separate events. Being born from above is the Spirit of Christ piercing the heart and conversion, and the term has been coined, asking Jesus into our hearts. But, the empowerment is being baptized or whelmed by Holy Spirit, and given gifts of Holy Spirit.

If there was just a desire to have what is seen in scripture...

How can we be in Yahshua/Jesus, How do we KNOW we are in Him and what happens when we are in Him?

John/Yahanan 10:27-30, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; neither will any man snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand: I and My Father are in accord."

Hearing and obeying His voice is what enables us to be in Him

Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Messiah Yahshua, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

1 John/Yahanan 2:6, "He who says he abides in Him, is himself also obligated to walk as He walked."

1 John 3:24, “And the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He stays in us, by the Spirit which He gave us.”

Being in Him we can do His will;

John/Yahanan 15:5-16, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and letting My words; abide in you, you will ask what you will, and it will be done for you. In this is My Father glorified: when you produce much fruit; and in this way you become My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you; continue in My love. If you keep My Commands, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's Commands, and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be complete. This is My Command: Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

This is why it is written;

1 Peter/Kepha 1:13-21, "Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the undeserved pardon that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Yahshua Messiah. As obedient children, do not conform to the former lusts you had when you lived in ignorance; But as He Who called you is holy, so you also become holy in all your conduct; Because it is written Be holy, for I am holy. And if you call on the Father, Who, without respect of persons judges according to each man's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your sojourning here in reverence; Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver or gold, from your idolatrous way of life handed down to you by tradition from your forefathers; But with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot; Who truly was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you; Who through Him we do believe in YHWH, Who raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in YHWH."
And from there having risen up, He went away into the region of Tyre. And having entered into a house, He was wishing no one to know it, but He was not able to be hidden. Mark 7:24

The Believer in Christ can not be hidden!

I know the modern teaching is a story about Him rather than anythung He actually said, however if we consult the Word in it's fullness, I believe it is;

Mat 28:19-20, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit, and make disciples of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

"Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you"

How obeying the King is not a part of the Good News of the Kingdom and has been cast aside by many is beyond me. Maybe I should have also asked this in the OP, do we obey the Shepherd like sheep following a shepherd or is it optional.

It is my belief that the baptism of Holy Spirit is the "knowing" we are "in Him". We are immersed into His body. It's an experience with the Lord, same as our conversion. We know that we know we have been touched.

And the truth being taught about baptism of water will give us the stone of remembrance that we can look back to the day that we died with Jesus, and was risen in newness of life. Our crucifixion of death to sin or the nature of sin. And a new nature or new heart given.

The words that Jesus spoke to the body of Christ, which is the "new" creation of man, and the release that begins of sin that came to our world, is you must be born again. And to wait for the power.

There is the rock on which we stand.

Here's another gem too Hiz....The words that His mother spoke to the servants that were filling the water pots at the wedding...was whatever He tells you to do, that do. My version of His words. Being lazy or I would post the scripture. :)

We hear His Voice in several different ways and obey. An exciting life of walking in Spirit. :)

John 2:5, "His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He says to you.”

This one is deep too..... If one understands the mainstream religion of that time... to simplify, it was about obeying YHWH rather than men... (wine, river, water. covering the top..."clean")

The Holy Spirit only works between Christ and His Finished Work. He is the one that renews the mind, keeps all commandments, and all laws.

HOW does one get IN Christ-----------> BAPTISM

Romans 6:3 Know ye not that so many of us as... WERE baptized... INTO... Jesus Christ...... WERE baptized...INTO....His death?
BAPTISM {immersion} requires going “down into” water .. Acts 8:38BAPTISM {immersion} requires coming “up out of” water Acts 8:39

Romans 8:1
There is NO condemnation for them which are...IN.... Christ......

Just some things to ponder......have a great day

I'll tell you what in almost 30 years of Salvation one thing remains the same, when I have a close walk with Him I get convicted quickly of my sin. In my "away" times I'm sure the Holy Spirit is convicting me just as quickly but it takes me much longer to hear it. When I am close and I think bad about another person... BAM!!! He is there. When I grumble... BAM!!! there again. And I repent quickly! Believe it or not that brings freedom. Joy. Freedom of bondage. Nothing wanting or emptiness... completeness. And as the cherry on top blessings in every way (health, financial, sound mind and body). It just happens. The super coolness about it is I get to be a blessing to people and G-d uses me in their lives. The super, duper coolest ever is G-s will use me to bring people to Him.
Then I blow it, for a bit; like an idiot!!!

When I am not close, I will not only think bad but stairt speaking bad. I grumble and instead of repent I make excuses. What scares me a lot it doesn't take much time before my heart starts to get hard. No matter how much I think I love Him; the Scripture is true the heart is deceatfully wicked who can know it. I am sooo grateful G-d's mercy is renewed every morning and like Moses I can CRY OUT G-D HAVE MERCY ON ME and He does!! There is such a thing as a backslidden Christian and that is the worst way to live. Usually, for me, it happens because of laziness. I do not "feel" like reading my Bible, I do not have time to speed on my knees. But when G-d in His mercy lets the sin catch up with me those few hours a day with Him would have been nothing compared to the mess on my hands now....

Just think a few hours a day keeps you in the blessings, while 24 away put you in a mess. They are both multiplied over time.

The Apostle Paul makes it very clear in Romans 8:10 that the physical body, mind / intellect, and the heart (which is evil - Jeremiah 17:9) has been rendered helpless because of the original sin; consequently, the Believer trying to overcome by willpower presents a fruitless task. Only the Holy Spirit can mortify the deeds of the flesh and make us what we ought to be (Romans 8:13). This means we cannot do it ourselves. Once again, He performs all that He does within the confines of the Finished Work of Christ (Romans 8:2).

If a Christian will and their efforts to live for God is in anything except Christ and the Cross, i.e., Finished Work, The Blood of Jesus (Romans 8:2), Satan can override your will and force you to do things you don't want to do and trying not to do (Ephesians 6:12). Jesus said deny yourself and pick up your cross and follow me (Luke 9:23).

Remember our bodies are dead and useless to God. The heart is prone to wander away from God's love and eat from "The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil." The reason why the body is dead is because of the effects of the fall has made us totally incapable of yielding spiritual obedience on a regular basis (Jeremiah 13:23). So there must be a source outside of myself that helps me to enter into sanctification which is the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13).

Note: The Believer must repent not just for the bad they are doing, but also for the good they are doing. Why? Because the Believer can depend on the good to get them through (Jer. 6:13-15). Good things will always follow right living. However, that is not God's way. His way is Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work (Rev. 3:17-22).

The Holy Spirit, He Works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "the Cross of Christ", which demands that our Faith be exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

The Holy Spirit doesn't require much of us, but He does require one thing, and without reservation. Our Faith must be exclusively be in Christ and the Cross, understanding that this is God's Prescribed Order of Victory. When we stay "victory" we are speaking Victory in every capacity, be it spiritual, financial, domestically, physical, etc. God's Prescribed Order of Victory is "the Cross of Christ."

Victory over sin: Romans 8:2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14 ; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the Devil: Hebrews 2:14 ; Colossians 2:15

The Way Of The Spirit
Focus: The Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
Object Of Faith: The Cross of Christ (Romans 6:1-14)
Power Source: The Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1-2, 11)
Results: Victory (Romans 6:14)

Man's Way
Focus: Works.
Object Of Faith: Performance.
Power Source: Self.
Results: Defeat!

The only way to God is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)...the only way to Jesus Christ is by the Means of the Cross (Luke 14:27). The only way to the Cross is a denial of self (Luke 9:23). If any person tries to come any other way, Jesus says, "they are a thief and a robber" (John 10:1).

1. Jesus Christ is the source of all blessings.
2. The Cross is the means by which all blessings are given.
3. The object of our faith must be Christ and the Cross.
4. That being done, the Holy Spirit will greatly help us.
