When a Christian Faith is placed exclusively in Christ and Him Crucified, this gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to help the Christian (The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus - Romans 8:2). Again, God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:2) is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

The Holy Spirit operates in a Christian by the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2). This Law requires the Christian to place and maintain their Faith exclusively in Christ and the Finished Work at Calvary's Cross where the victory was won (The Blood of Jesus). This Law delivers you into the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, which allows the life of Christ to manifest through you by the power of the Holy Spirit (this includes the gifts of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit in demonstration of the Spirit and of power). This is how you receive grace and favor from the Lord because you are not frustrating grace, but growing in grace by walking and being led by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit doesn't require much of us, but He does require one thing, and without reservation.
Our Faith must be exclusively be in Christ and the Cross; understanding that this is God's Prescribed Order of Victory (Rom. 8:2).

The Holy Spirit works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "The Cross of Christ" i.e., "The Blood of Jesus;" which demands that our Faith be placed and maintained exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

The Believer who doesn't understand this or has chosen a different way is operating in the Law of Sin and Death (the works of the flesh - sin has dominion over them).

Every Christian trusts the Lord and believes Him in some capacity. The trouble is, most do not trust Him or believe Him correctly.

WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

The Truth that the Believer must have, is that the Cross and the Resurrection, which speak of the Finished Work of Christ, pertains not only to our initial Salvation experience, but as well to our everyday Victory over the world, the flesh, and the Devil. The Believer must understand the Truth that he was in Christ when Christ died on the Cross, was in Christ when He was buried, was in Christ when he was raised from the dead, and continues to be in Christ as He is now exalted at the Right Hand of the Father (Roman 6:3-5; Ephesians 2:6). Consequently, if Christ defeated Satan, that means the Christian has defeated Satan. If Christ atoned for all sin, then no sin can attach itself to the Believer, that is, if the Believer keeps trusting Christ. If Christ is a Law-keeper, than the Believer is a Law-keeper. If Christ is victorious, then the Believer is victorious.

The Believer must understand this, trust in this, believe this, and act upon it, even on a daily basis. This is what Jesus meant by us taking up the Cross daily and following Him (Luke 9:23).

As far as trying to do something as it concerns taking up the Cross daily, we are to do nothing. In fact, it was already done at Calvary some two thousand years ago. On a daily basis, we should reinforce our Faith in Christ and what He has done for us at the Cross (Rom. 6:3-5; 8:2, Gal. 2:20-21, Col. 2:10-15). This is the "Truth" which we must learn, act upon, and continue to act upon, which guarantees the help of the Holy Spirit.

The sin nature has been separated, not eliminated in a Christian life. This evil nature is always present in our current bodies. Victory only comes by Faith in Christ and the Cross. We must acknowledge that we need the GRACE of God to overcome the sins we repeat. The operation of the Holy Spirit is accomplished through Faith and Grace.

Every failure in a Christian life is caused by us resulting to the flesh and trying to do what needs to be done by the means of the flesh, which is guaranteed to fail. When the Believer attempts to function outside of the Cross, the situation becomes impossible. Sin and failure are the constant results, no matter how hard one may try otherwise.

The cross is nothing except the means of execution and the metaphorical symbol of Christ's death. Our faith is to be in the person and work of Jesus Christ. "And Him crucified" does not mean "and the cross"; it means that the death of Jesus Christ has secured our salvation so that we don't have to die for our sin.

While generally true, this is not exhaustively true and is therefore dangerous. We live in a fallen world. There is more happening than simply a transaction between individual believers and God.

Believers aren't "in" the cross; we are in Christ. We operate in Christ by the Holy Spirit.

You have made it crystal clear, over and over, that the Cross of Christ (His sacrifice) is not revelant; this is called another Jesus. If you are a Christian, this is called "spiritual adultery." Christ has become of no benefit to you. The sin nature is reactivated.

I think our relationship with the Almighty is much like how we act in all of our other relationships. At first it’s the honeymoon stage then as time passes and if we fail to grow together we get complacent or familiar. Then our old self comes calling for a visit.
