On a different note.

I have been wondering, what is the authority that says the KJV only is the only reliable Bible. I hear a lot of people who will defend the KJV to the death. But my question is, why? We certainly seem to have a lot of "authorities"; but is there some ultimate authority we can look to from whom all the other authorities can point and say, "this is it, this is the ultimate authority"; this is why we believe as we do. God doesn't count.

Somewhere along the line, all KJV onlyists must have been influenced by someone; and they someone else, and so on.

I'd like the answers to these questions too... perhaps this should be its own thread?

Gal 2:16, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Once you understand what law that is, you will stop quote this so much.

yeah Moses law is about sin and death and by the world in it no one is justified

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭

the law of Moses is not Gods law , it was added into the equation because of mans transgression it is born of sin and was ordained by angels , given into Moses hand for mediation only temporarily until Christ the seed was born

“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;

and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭KJV‬

that last part is important for understanding when Israel made the calf and worshipped it yet God led them out of slavery he handed the covenant over to angels by Moses mediation and promised Christ would later come to speak his words to the people.

what I mean is this actually happened and from this came Moses law which is not for Christian people it’s for the world outside of Christ

“Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:40-43

our judgement in Christ is here and only here

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

in other words you have what his word promises both ways

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭

Moses never preached eternal life he preached a law for people like this

“Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭

it was made for people without a new heart and spirit , the gospel is about receiving a renewed spirit and heart by faith ( hearing and believing the gospel )

“don’t lie “ isnt sufficient because it’s speaking a rebuke to the flesh . “ don’t kill “ isnt sufficient because it’s speaking to the murderers flesh. “Don’t steal “ isn’t sufficient for a new born child of God. It’s speaking to a prone thief,

instead you teach Gkds children being born of faith exactly like this with a new doctrine

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom.

For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:27-32, 35-39, 46-49‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Moses didn’t teach that stuff he wrote this kind of stuff

“And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s not actually possible to obey what Moses wrote on his book and what Jesus said because it is contradictory like that

“ forgive others when they transgress against you , don’t judge and condemn but be merciful always to others because he’s been merciful to you and all of us have sinned and need the same mercy Jesus gives “

And then “ anyone who transgresses must be witnessed against and brought to judgement and punished by the group thine eye shall have no pity on them punish the evil among you “

it’s a different spirit because the angel is involved and not Jesus

Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭23:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that angel isnt involved in ordaining our covenant or keeping us in the way d the lords name isn’t in anyone but Christ for Christians and Moses isn’t our intercessor and mediator we have Jesus

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

just as Moses interceded when they made the calf and God was going to destroy them and he spared them and sent the angels to fulfill his promise and deliver then into the land he have Abraham’s descendants.

so Jesus came after that covenant was broken and became the curse of sin and death and he interceded for all the world that was made guilty by the law

Moses law is seperate from Christianity only an ancient pattern for understanding Christ

I understand what you saying but in total is all about keeping God's Commandments, Statues and Judgements.
