Why would I lie? I said I would not lie to make the worldview more appealing. it was you who claimed we should say what makes it appealing, not me.

And who said I was lieing?

OEC already agrees with the prominent world view.

Both K.H.'s are the ones that the media likes to interview whenever the question comes up on what Christianity has to say regarding the age of the earth....its akin to the media always interviewing the good 'ol boy in the single wide trailer as to getting the scoop on the tornado that just swept through the area...:)

YEC's do more harm than good in recruiting an educated populous.

YEC missionaries can recruit to the faith due to the fact that the majority of third world recruits don't know an old earth from a young earth...

Christianity could take a queue from islam in that regard - as almost all Muslims that I have encountered are OEC.

Do you actually believe the Bible? Not talking about just Genesis

That man's thinking is fallen - thus romans 12

That man is at enmity with God? thus the need for a savior

That there are foolish speculations built against the knowledge of God? thus the Bible itself

That the prince of this world satan has his own fortresses such as Evolution set up? The Biblical Worldview

That just because Islam - which is a false religion - agrees with something, we should to?

Are we Snobs because we know more than people in the third world?

The demons believe the Bible and act on it in faith and tremble more than we fallen humans will submit to it and act upon it

Wow. Your bitterness is evident. Chill. I don't agree with Bookends and you but he's at least being respectful to other views.
Those would be your words...

Just stating things matter-of-fact from my experience.

I have studied the original Biblical languages more than most people I have encountered...and I remain an OEC more firmly than ever... :)

That does not mean the pre-eminant worldview is correct.

The preminent world view is that we need to earn Gods love or he will punish us..And that there is more than one way to God. Is this correct? I pray you do not believe this.

One of the favorite attacks of Muslims against Christianity (besides The Trinity), is to attack YEC.

They NEVER attack the OEC position.

It is best to give them one less attack point...

well good for you..

God created the heavens and earth in six days (literal days, not many years)

On day 6 he created man

Mankind has only been walking the earth for approximately 6000 years.. So either the earth is that young. Or the Scripture has lied to us all..

There is only one way to eternal Salvation, and that is through the belief in, and the worship of, the Triune Creator of the Universe as He has revealed Himself in the Holy Bible.

How are non-Christians going to receive this message if all they see in internal confusion over a basic issue as to the age of the earth..?

The same way they have been coming to him since adam first sinned.

By the truth of God..

How old the earth is is not going to save anyone. The gospel truth of the death burial and ressurection of Christ is.

As the world becomes better and better educated, YEC will become an increasingly hard-sell.

I predict it will go the way of the dinosaurs...

OEC's don't need to 'lie'.
Just need to do a lot of theological bends, twists, and eisegetical study starting out with man's desire for there to be no God, and that we came from animals therefore there is no creator- that is the starting point of the Evolutionary worldview - ie naturalism - that matter, time, and the laws of nature are all that is needed to explain the world.

Or on Uniformitarianism which tells us that the key to the past is the present, but the Bible teaches us that the key to the present is the past. And that people only say it looks "old" because the world systems are constantly perpetuating it to us - rather than renewing the mind

No, they just have to create many ridiculous theories to justify and try to make sense of Old-Earth Creationism. A plain reading of the Bible doesn't support OEC. God's Word should be our standard.

Then why do you keep bringing it up...?

your the one bringing it up.. I am just countering your argument and reasonings as to why we should teach something.

It's already a hard sell. God's Truth (especially that Genesis 1-11 is history) has always been a hard sell, especially in more so-called "educated" parts of the world.
