I think that the Op have a good point, that today's christianity are Biblical, more than spiritual. The connection to God is week, even though people's do read the Bible.

Do not give me wrong. I do believe that the Scriptures are for good lesson, and I believe that the Op say's it as well, but the point is that people's have take the Scriptures as a Spirit, and that's why people's behavior is not holy, because it is they own version of the Bible which dwell's in man, instead the true contact to the Spirit of truth, and the Lord and God.

As for being embarrassed by what we've done in our lives? Ha! Got you beat. I like Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond and disco. (Worse yet. I'm only embarrassed mentioning Barry Manilow. lol)

You only know that "JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF IS THE WAY AND THE LIFE AND THE TRUTH." because of His Word contained in the bible.

i agree with alot of what the OP says but if one believes that they have the Spirit and dont need the bible, i think this is what causes many of the problems the OP is talking about. i think Satan and demons would be very good at leading people to think they dont need the bible or to believe they can add their own laws to it.
