Sanctified. It would be good to look up that word, and see what it means.

If the church was sanctified, if she was set apart as holy, if she would actually find the faith to allow the Holy Spirit to make her holy, then God would have no problem with her.

The Spirit asked me in worship service once what one gets when they put a harlot in a wedding dress. Well, you can guess the answer. He said that this is not the kind of bride He would give His Son to wed.

So you figure it out.

II Thessalonians 2: 13 – But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
II Timothy 2: 19-21 – Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

Do you suppose that if we don't love God, that He will take kindly to us?

There are just as many scriptures, even more, to show that if we do not abide in Jesus, if we do not seek God's face, if we do not allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into holiness, that He will judge us, harshly?

Read and see.

Yeah. My first reply to that was going to be......"We get sinful harlots saved by the grace of God.....and made His snow-white bride by the blood of Christ". If sinners saved by grace thru faith aren't what Christ is looking for, I truly don't know what else there is we could offer of ourselves. Faith in Christ, humble thanksgiving and obedience to the best of my ability. That's all this sinner has to offer. Not much.....but I am assured that it is enough. Hope the walk helped more than it hurt (while doing it). Love you always Zone

Well I understand what hypocrite means.....how could anyone forget what Jesus said to men
posing as church leaders while all along they were children of Satan. Keeping people out of the Kingdom
by their heretical man made teachings and hiding from them the true written word.

But also I remember Jesus talking to His sheep tenderly, willing to fetch one with His strong arms
while leaving the 99.

I understand the goodness of God leadeth man to repentance, and that His mercy endureth forever.

Having said all that, I rekon there must be a pharisee in our midst. Someone here that is a child of
the devil...hmmmm..ok :)

Those who are hypocritical are aware of this, most of the time. But not all are aware. Some are blinded by the god of this world. They believe that because they know the scriptures that this means that they know God. God has set things up in such a way that those who know Him are knows as such, while those who just know about Him are obvious also.

Paul wrote about this very thing.

I am not making any judgments on anyone. Anyone who understands scripture knows what God says about hypocrites.

Sarcasm does not do you justice.

I am just speaking plainly.

I lived as a hypocrite for many years. I suffered somewhat the judgment that is theirs, but God was merciful to me. I reckon it was so I could warn those who are like minded as I was.

Only thing is, I was very hard to convince of where I was wrong. God's intervention was not pleasant at all.

Seems that He has a habit of taking those who are captured in a certain thing to warn those who are also caught in that thing.

You do understand that a harlot is one who is promised to another and yet gives themselves to someone else? God detests harlots. He will not give His Son a harlot in a bride's dress. Those who are made clean do have a small part in this process. They seek and desire this to happen, no matter the cost. Too many today are not even aware of the need to be changed into His image. They believe that they are perfectly okay just as they were on the day that God gave them grace, which grace is the indwelling Holy Spirit. But they have continuously grieved Him day after day. I don't suppose you would congratulate them for their dedication, would you? God won't.

Anyone who wishes to can make scripture say almost anything. Now do you suppose that one who practices iniquity is clean? Do you suppose that if one serves the flesh that they are not committing harlotry against God?

well, think what you want.

God cleanses those who want to be cleansed. But if one wishes to live in sin, and to ignore the Holy Spirit and His conviction, then they will have to answer to God in that day. I for one will not allow the sinner to feel that he is okay when he is living in sin. If you feel comfortable with doing this, that is your choice.

I thought about not answering and letting the menfolk handle this but then I was never very good at being obedient and subservient to men so I'll state my piece....

You do understand that a harlot is one who is promised to another and yet gives themselves to someone else? God detests harlots. He will not give His Son a harlot in a bride's dress. you should stop calling people harlots, rape victims have a hard time thinking they are worthy of anyone's love and that is the word the demons use to torment them. your above statement does not help the situation any by telling them that God would never want them to know Jesus. think about it if you were raped and abused as a child and read your above statement what would your reaction be?

You know most feel like hypocrites? pretending to be happy and normal and just broken inside? Do you know how hard it is to talk to people who will not listen to how much God loves them? Especially when the ones who abused them are their earthly mother or father. Do you know how hard it is to tell those children about God's love. How to get them to understand a loving Heavenly Father when the word "love" brings memories of sexual abuse?

Where did I call anyone a harlot?

It seems that there is way too much protest, when I have called no one a harlot, nor have I called anyone a sinner, nor have I said that anyone is not saved. Period.

These are warnings to those who are or who do such things. If you cannot find them in the letters of Paul and Peter and James and John, it is because you do not want to see them, and they are most definitely in the gospel accounts as direct quotes from Jesus.

You guys act like someone guilty.

Stop doing that, or you will make me afraid for you.

as usual it's a wretched misinterpretation of the Harlot of Revelation who was Jerusalem.
but the xtain 'prophets' have to have somebody to lord it over and project their own filth onto.
This has not one thing to do with the Harlot of Revelations.
