I am a dead man. Though I have Life living in me, I have death working in my flesh. Death was working against the flesh of Christ, but eternal life was in him. In order for that eternal life to be given to us, his own flesh had to die. So he did truly lead captivity captive, and afterwards, gave gifts unto men.

I cannot escape this death. It is no good for me to draw back because my soul is afraid. I knew this coming in that the gospel of Jesus Christ would be hated. I knew it. I should have expected it. So I am a fool for his name's sake. The world hates me for his name's sake. How can I respect on man or woman over another, aren't they all vain?

Everything is vanity if it is not in the will of our Lord, so I am also a vain man. I am a dead man, and I am a vain man. I do not trust myself, I do not trust flesh, but I can ONLY trust God. May the Lord have mercy on me can keep me from lust. Indeed, this carnal man lusts after carnal things, but that eternal man is holy and pure, and desires the things of the Spirit.

WOW!! And I read this earlier:

(I cannot escape it)

Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Col 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Phil 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Phil 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Gal 6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
Gal 6:13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1Cor 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1Cor 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

May Jesus bless you.

I wrote a poem that this thread reminds of

A dead man walking

I'm a dead man walking,
a dead man talking,
born again,
freed from sin,
don't know why Satan bothers stalking.

My victory's in He,
that laid His life down for me.
In my death I gained life,
I now have the right
to walk in the light.

Dead in this flesh,
alive in His sight.
Crucified with Christ,
I live a life sacrificed.

Everything I do,
is to glorify you.
My Lord, My King,
The Lamb that made me brand new.

Old things passed away,
how could I ever repay.
your life for mine
I gave you my filth,
you give me your nature divine.

Now it is your image I bear,
its your image I share.

Some can't believe it,
others stand by gawking,
as they watch this dead man walking,
and hear this dead man talking.

I once received a word from the Lord. It went like this:

"You are to become one with Me. In every thing and in every way.
The first way that you must become one with Me is in My death. Join Me on My cross.
Then you must die and be buried with Me. Join Me in My grave.
Then you will be raised as one with Me in My resurrection. Join Me in My life."

I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.

I was a sinner, and sin was my master, until that night when I was joined to Jesus in His death. If we sin, we must die. There is no other answer to and for sin. But if by the Spirit we are putting to death the deeds of the flesh, we shall live. So then, we die in order to live, and we live to die.

Every child of God is joined in Jesus with His death and burial and resurrection. Every child of His has been raised to new life in His resurrection.

Sing your praises to the cross of Jesus Christ, where we find deliverance from the master of sin who works death in us, so that we can find the freedom of the children of God.

I got this from God....
God said... Cobus all who you teach too, will become like you!
I said...NO GOD NEVER, LET THEM BECOME LIKE YOU!!!
He said... Why not like you, YOU ARE LIKE ME!
I said OH LORD THANK YOU!!!
I think it was meant for the future.

I am not there yet though why not inspire others to go for GOLD IN HIM...
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

If we are in Christ, we will encounter the cross, almost every day of our lives in Him. (I have yet to have a day that I did not encounter the cross, and the need for the cross in my life.)

The cross is something that must be endured, sought for even, because of the view we have of ourselves in His light. As we see Him, and ourselves reflected in His light, we will want the power of the cross to deliver us from sin. And yet, the only deliverance is death, for the sinner must die.

One who seeks the cross, who chooses to endure the shame of the cross with Jesus Christ, will find something that no price can be set upon; freedom to live in Jesus Christ and walk in His light without condemnation.

Many misunderstand the conviction that God brings to our hearts. He is greater than our hearts, and He will convict us of our sin. The heart that is open to God will understand this conviction and know the condemnation that God reserves for sin and the sin nature, for the sinner. (God wants us to be free of sin even more than we can know, and has done all that He needs to do for us to become free indeed. The child of God will seek this freedom, and the life of Christ in order to become pleasing to Him.)

We are being saved from the stain, the corruption of sin, and the resultant death and destruction of our souls. But we are totally corrupt, totally spoiled, completely overcome by sin as natural people. If our salvation had to cost Jesus His life, we can be sure that it also costs us our lives too. It has been said that God saves us by regeneration. As Jesus said, the seed must fall into the ground and die in order to bear fruit. We also are to bear fruit. As He is the vine, we cannot be in Him without the cross, the death of the cross.

God does not force anyone to the cross to die. He confronts everyone who hears the word with the cross, they see the cross to some extent or another. (Whenever the cross is preached, the Spirit is there, opening eyes and ears and hearts.) But everyone who comes to the cross must make a choice, an eternal choice, which will follow them forever. They must choose to give up their lives on the cross of Christ, or the only other choice is to turn away and not look. God calls us to the cross, and shows us Jesus Christ His Son, displayed before the entire creation in open shame for us. And He speaks to our hearts and says, "Here is My love for you. Here is My faithfulness, in that I did not spare even My own Son from this shame, for you. Join My Son in His death to your shame."

In Jesus Christ,
In His love,
