R
I am a dead man. Though I have Life living in me, I have death working in my flesh. Death was working against the flesh of Christ, but eternal life was in him. In order for that eternal life to be given to us, his own flesh had to die. So he did truly lead captivity captive, and afterwards, gave gifts unto men.
I cannot escape this death. It is no good for me to draw back because my soul is afraid. I knew this coming in that the gospel of Jesus Christ would be hated. I knew it. I should have expected it. So I am a fool for his name's sake. The world hates me for his name's sake. How can I respect on man or woman over another, aren't they all vain?
Everything is vanity if it is not in the will of our Lord, so I am also a vain man. I am a dead man, and I am a vain man. I do not trust myself, I do not trust flesh, but I can ONLY trust God. May the Lord have mercy on me can keep me from lust. Indeed, this carnal man lusts after carnal things, but that eternal man is holy and pure, and desires the things of the Spirit.
WOW!! And I read this earlier:
(I cannot escape it)
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Col 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Phil 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Phil 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Gal 6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
Gal 6:13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1Cor 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1Cor 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
May Jesus bless you.
