If you download the file it will tell you that Jesus is God. Jesus is never a created being as an angel. Michael means one who is like God, archangel means chief of the angels.

Daniel 10:13

(13) But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo,
Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Daniel 10:21
(21) But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but
Michael your prince.
Daniel 12:1
(1) And at that time shall
Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book..

I had an elderly gentleman, Paul, from your faith that would come to my house every other week to bring me literature or talk about his faith. We would discuss different topics each time, and I genuinely liked this man, even though we did not agree on a lot of important doctrinal issues. He had a very deep faith, and what impressed me is that he lived it, and did not judge me because I didn't believe the same, i felt he wished to help people. When he passed away several years ago his daughter started coming to my house, and came across as judgemental, an elitist, and offended me the first day. After this i asked her not to come back. Anyone who judges with anger seems to me to be the opposite of a Christian. You seem to offer information.

Thanx for sharing, I am sorry that She was offensive, If I am honest I went through a stage in my growth were I became very judgmental. It took me some time to see what I was doing. But I praise God that he leads us all as we are able to follow.

I agree with you, judging with anger is not of God. I try to offer information to those who are curious or seeking whatever reason. I believe that we are all on a journey with Christ, growing to know Him better and in this we become more like Him as the Spirit moves on our hearts.

Again thank you for sharing a little of your experience.

Abiding you know that's not true. You where not happy I disagreed with you interpolation and used the same verse to show you that so now you desired to be change the subject instead of exchange dialogue. You asked if Satan could take us out of the hand of God and I told you it was by the will of man that we follow Satan when tempted.
remember when you say you said something and such all i have to do is go reread posts.

Well Abiding if you have a problem with me e-mail me and we can work it out other wise lets try to keep this open for the real subject. I would love to answer anything you have to ask in this tread the best way I now how to convey. Other wise I feel this is point less and only disruptive to the thread its self. This will be the last time I reply to something that is not of the nature of the thread for the sake of others reading this.

are these 'baptismal vows' taught anywhere in the Bible?
please show where.

SDA Baptismal Vows

"1. Do you believe in God the Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit?
2. Do you accept the death of Jesus Christ on Calvary as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of men, and believe that through faith in His shed blood men are saved from sin and its penalty?
3. Renouncing the world and its sinful ways, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, and do you believe that God, for Christ's sake, has forgiven your sins and given you a new heart?
4: Do you accept by faith the righteousness of Christ, recognizing Him as your Intercessor in the heavenly sanctuary, and do you claim His promise to strengthen you by His indwelling Spirit, so that you may receive power to do His will?
5. Do you believe that the Bible is God's inspired word, and that it constitutes the only rule of faith and practice for the Christian?
6. Do you accept the Ten Commandments as still binding upon Christians; and is it your purpose, by the power of the indwelling Christ, to keep this law, including the fourth commandment, which requires the observance of the seventh day of the week as the Sabbath of the Lord?
7. Is the soon coming of Jesus the blessed hope in your heart, and are you determined to be personally ready to meet the Lord, and to do all in your power to witness to His loving salvation, and by life and word to help others to be ready for His glorious appearing?
8. Do you accept the Biblical teaching of spiritual gifts, and do you believe that the gift of prophecy in the remnant church is one of the identifying marks of that church?
9. Do you believe in God's Remnant Church, and is it your purpose to support the church by your tithes and offerings, your personal effort, and influence?
10. Do you believe that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and that you are to honor God by caring for your body, avoiding the use of that which is harmful, abstaining from all unclean foods, from the use, manufacture, or sale of alcoholic beverages, the use, manufacture, or sale of tobacco in any of its forms for human consumption, and from the misuse of, or trafficking in, narcotics or other drugs?
11. Knowing and understanding the fundamental Bible principles as taught by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is it your purpose, by the grace of God, to order your life in harmony with these principles?
12. Do you accept the New Testament teaching of baptism by immersion, and do you desire to be so baptized as a public expression of your faith in Christ and in the forgiveness of your sins?
13. Do you believe that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the remnant church of Bible prophecy, Rev. 12:17, and that people of every nation, race, and language are invited and accepted into its fellowship? Do you desire membership.

Acts 8 34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? 35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

"Let us remember that a Bible-centered church is not necessarily the same as a Christ-centered church. There isn't a 'Christian' cult or liberal church in the world, after all, which would not claim to be Bible-centered: it is only as the Bible is understood and applied in terms of its center, Christ, that the two things, Bible-centeredness and Christ-centeredness, become one." -Carl Trueman

if you study SDA teaching you will find much of it centers around the sanctuary. If you study the sanctuary you will find that it is centered around Christ. I started a thread all about the sanctuary if you are interested.

Why go to former members? I am sure that former members of your church would have bad things to say as well. If you are not prepared to study the Bible properly then there is no point you coming back to this thread.

Hi, as I said I am a Seventh Day Adventist. The only reason this question answer post is here is because I have seen many people throw things at my Faith without really knowing what we believe.

So I will be answering any Bible questions you have if I can. Repeat BIBLE questions. Everything I believe and that my Church teaches is firmly based in Scripture and no where else.

Now I have a lot on my plate so please be patient with me. This post is not designed to argue but rather help those who wish to better understand our position. You do not have to agree with me in any way. I will however be using the bible to answer any questions. so if you need to discuss anything with me about a topic that you think I am wrong in then feel free. but use your Bible. I will not pay any heed to those who come in here and rant on their soap box without scripture to back them up.

In other words, lets be Christian about this. I have no need nor want to put others down. and will not respond to put downs and unchristian behaviour.

One other thing. I am a Seventh Day Adventist Pastor, and one thing I have learnt is that most Professed Seventh Day Adventists do not know what we actually believe. Why do I say this? Because While you may have read things about us and done some study. chances are, you don't understand half as much about our teaching as you think you do.

I do not pretend to know everything about how other faiths believe even though I used to be a pentecostal. I am not ignorant enough to think that I know them because I once was one. so please afford me the same respect.

That being said, May God bless us all as we draw closer to Him in truth and in Spirit.

Do you SDAs believe you have a soul that is separate from your body? And do you accept the reality of hellfire as spoken by Jesus in Luke 16:19-31 with the rest of the Christian world? If not, why not? My mother is an Adventist, but she cannot articulate her beliefs clearly.

Genesis 2:7 KJV
(7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

This verse means Body + Breath of life = A soul. It would also mean Body - Breath of life = No soul.

Ezekiel 18:4 KJV
(4) Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

But if what a person says and does are different.... which is it?

You believe you must keep the Sabbath on Saturday otherwise you are going to hell... is this not a work? Who said you are going to hell if you acknowledge Sunday as the Sabbath? Are you tying to control your salvation? But yet you can't do that... so you're not trusting Christ because you're looking to men and not Him?

Your religion says that you don't believe a person can be saved instantly, that it only happens at the end when they have endured... that is a work also.. because there is no focus on the blood of Jesus being all that is necessary to cleanse from sin... more that you believe there are things you need to do in order to 'come out saved in the end'. So you view this like a competition, where the best win their salvation. This is not biblical.

Just because a person is saved from the penalty of their sins does not mean they're immune to attacks from Satan. Satan persecutes Christians to take them off the path that God wants them on. Christians witness to the lost. Satan does not want anyone to know the truth. Non Christians are blind to all this because they are not saved so their eyes are not yet opened. They don't have the armor of God.

Good does come out of tribulations though as God uses them to conform us to Christ. They strengthen us, making us stronger Christians and having more love for God as we are depending on Him to help us through these times.
Why did God make His promise to the seed of Abraham?

"Because Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws." Gen. 26:5.
And so Abraham kept the commandments, including the 7th Day Sabbath commandment.

We are to be like Abraham, God make His promise to the seed of Abraham. So we must learn the correct biblical balance of faith and works.

The Bible says:
1. Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness
2. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
James 2
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

It is the same exact thing where Seventh Day Adventists are concerned. We keep the 7th Day Sabbath just like Abraham did. We believe God and it is imputed unto us for righteousness. We also are justified by works as Abraham was. Therefore to act as if we are contradicting ourselves in believing the way that we do about faith and works is to accuse the Bible writers of contradicting themselves.
The Christian CAN do both things... keep the Sabbath, believe God and be saved by faith, yet also be justified by works. Read the entire chapter of James 2.Faith without works is dead. This is because genuine faith... works. The works are proof that you have genuine faith.
