Some people can get nasty because the Word pierces their heart and exposes their darkness that they do not like to see. Also, bullies or people who set out to insult others do so as to make themsleves feel better. I am reminded of how God spoke thru Stephen whereby it cut to their heart and made them angry. Others I think insult because that is all they have ever known as a part of the world. They cannot see that their words are hurtful and un-Christ like (Not to mention against the teaching of the Bible).
The words of God are powerful, cuts just like a double edged sword.

While this maybe true in some cases...I believe that in your case you are wrong. I have never been convicted by anything that you have said. I am trying to help you break thru the wall of your argumentative and unteachable spirit. But your heart is hard.

Yeah, its not the person but the Lord discerning, and the other is picking up in themselves
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Heb 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight:
but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Rev 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth
went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
He said he has given them the words (John 7:8)
Psalm 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
and a twoedged sword in their hand;
Ephes 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
I dont feel condemned or judged by his words, but folks seem to pick that up and its just recently dawned on me actually these things are what they are picking up. And where there should be an Amen there is a war.

People make a choice. They either insult or they use the Word of God when they talk about the things of God with other believers. Jesus said you will know false prophets by their fruit. If a person is just acting carnal and not spiritual by the fact that they are not seeking to love and or use the Word, then they are out of line with God's will. For we get our faith from the Word of God and we do not get our faith from our own opinions and thoughts. Some people speak here and do not use the Word because they do not know how to read and understand it. They are unskillful in the Word. If one is born again, then one will want to use the Word naturally. They will want to study and know it intimately by heart. For they know that man shall live not by bread alone but by every word of God that proceeds out of their mouth.

Ok but that doesnt make what I said wrong. I said some use too much Scripture out of context or twist it to be right.That has nothing to do with what you just said.Therefore I was not wrong.And thanks for answering.

My 2 cents that doesnt mean anything but just because you believe your right on either side doesn't mean the other side
will listen.....the proof is in the days of this same argument cycling over and over. High emotion, heels dug in, this isnt discussion

I appreciate what you've said in other portions of your post, in that this particular forum is set aside for biblical discussion. I personally don't see anything wrong with some socialization on this forum as I think it just might encourage the unity of Spirit I'd like to see restored.
What I'd like to point out in regards to the portion of your post I've quoted here is that "we" are not God's house, as that is the local church. We are individually and alone the Temple of the Holy Spirit. That is said of every believer. A website, in my opinion, can't be a church, and the way we've been behaving here would put a church to shame.
Again, to offer a different view here, I think God would disavow the board as His creation. Also, given the word "Discussion" is included in the title of this particular board, then it is and couldn't be limited only to Scripture, any more than the term "church service" would indicate that only Scripture is spoken within it.
Then again, it is the only thread using "I" as the first word in its title, defining what a member personally will do, as opposed to all the other threads that simply identify the subject to be discussed.
