Sinless perfectionism? Is that what is going on here?

No not perfection just not intentional sin. If you know it's wrong don't do it.
It's wrong you are not selling all your belongings and giving the proceeds to the poor. That is an intentional sin you commit every day.

I THOUGHT I smelled sinless perfectionism!

What does that mean?

Right you say yes to Christ, give up your own ways. Cease from committing sin. The sanctification process is going through the fire for cleansing.
So, have you mastered your selflessness, anger, unrighteous thoughts and actions, which are all apart of the sinful nature? It is faith in the shed blood of Christ that cleanses the believer, not fire.

Sanctification is a process which takes place to each believer as we go through this life.

"For by one offering, He has perfected for all time those being sanctified."

The first that you are speaking about is in reference to our works to be tested. Whatever comes through the fire, we are rewarded for. We are being sanctified, i.e. being made holy, as we continue from faith to faith. That process of sanctification will be complete when we are changed into our immortal and glorified bodies.

I feel that you are arguing for the sake of arguing now, so I will just leave you with this information.

Ok , if that's what you think. You must be doing some type of sin because you think it's ok to sin as you please and keep asking for forgiveness even when you know it is not right. If you had a kid who keep taking your car and driving while you are asleep, and you tell them they must stop, but every night they do it any way. How would that make you feel about that Kid? No respect for you. Well that is stronger with God. If you love him you must stop sinning. The sins that you can stop doing stop.

And going through the fire is cleansing you and breaking you away from the world.

How do you get that out of what he wrote? You're making things up because you can't understand his position otherwise. Not valid!

And if my kid does that, does it make him "not my kid"? No. It makes him a disobedient and rebellious kid of mine, one who needs correction and guidance.

"The sins you can stop doing stop". Fair enough. How about the ones you can't stop?

Those are the ones like committing adultery with someone in your mind, those are covered under grace.

Don't bother responding to their arguments, just broadbrush them with imagined sin.

Good grief.
