Ha, that made me think of kung fu.
Since someone wanted to use a planting/harvesting metaphor......every season, year after year, every time a farmer plows his fields more rocks appear. Antler sheds flatten a tire, his tractor breaks down. Sometimes it rains during planting season and is dry during growing season. Sometimes he has a great crop and it gets wiped out by Hail. Sometimes he reaps a great harvest. You just never know until it is time to reap what you have sewn. Thank God for Jesus who came to clean up that mess. His fields grow perfectly season after season. He's just gonna let us fail with ours for awhile so when we get to heaven and see what he planted for us, we don't forget to be grateful.

We come from dirt, to the dirt we return and in between we garden. :D

Then maybe we are robots.

What do we then call robots? lol

Honestly, I'm just trying to find the folks who think we're robots if God chose us, so they can explain to me why I am a robot since I do think God chose us.

i guess we make imitation robots..?

we make our robots imitate people, and other living things. we pattern them after living things, in structure and in programming and in processing. the "
cutting edge" of AI ((artificial intelligence, to spare anyone looking it up)) is the closest-to-living-thing some clever person has accomplished.

functionally, that includes an idea of "
freedom" that boils down to behavior and/or decision trees having a degree of uncertainty in prediction.
i think i have a different notion of "
free" than a certain amount of randomness in a probability distribution.

or a puppet

see if anyone who thinks i'm a puppet can explain why i'm a puppet

((maybe it was just not the right buzzword?)) :)

If we are robots then maybe we are more like the tin man variety (wizard of oz)
and the wicked witch (Satan) doesn't want us to get a heart. But God does. :)
We follow the yellow brick road all our lives (pilgrims progress).

I truly believe God elected me. I absolutely know I never "made a decision to invite Christ into my heart." No one ever told me I should and I wasn't in a place in my life where I would have gone okey-dokey had someone suggested such a thing. I didn't choose Jesus anymore than Jonah chose to go where God told him to go. Obviously, at some point I got (and am getting) where God wanted me to go, but I never, ever chose God.

And because of that, people keep telling me that I think God is a robot maker or a puppeteer. Let me settle at least that much and allow me the choice "robot." I am God's robot?

I don't get that. For those of you who think the two choices are "Man chooses God" or "Man is a robot," would you please explain that to me? I keep asking people who say things like that, but never get a clear answer. (Usually I get absolutely no answer.) So, if you are the kind of person who thinks either we choose God or we are robots, would you please explain to me why I am a robot?
***you are not a robot----you have free will and have responded to God's Grace---John 3:16 says "whosoever" can come and believe in Him---of course God knows the end from the beginning so it seem like Election is all of God, but it isn't---we choose---God does not have robots to Love Him---He wants us to Love Him freely and every day you wake up you are choosing to follow Him---so it seems like you had no choice in your salvation, but God saved "you" in such a way that you were pulled into His Grace by your own heart...

No. More of a sign that you don't listen to people. We've had this conversation before. You've come on threads by others who said the same thing. And were equally as surprised each time.

Once again, we don't have free will? So we HAVE TO do what GOD wants us to do, and not do anything on our own idea?Have you flipped your rocker? Oh wait, since we DON'T have our own free will, we MUST be God's robots, spreading goody goody love all over.. lol

would God call it a robot? would humans recognize it if they saw it?

maybe this 'robot' would love what God loves, and hate what He hates.
maybe this robot would adore and worship God because He is worthy of that.
maybe this robot would always and only do God's will from love for God and sheer delight to do it.

maybe i will be fully conformed to such a robot One Day.
i have a Living Hope. :)

maybe it would be so wonderfully made that it would be alive, ((looking from the outside, to an observer with incomplete knowledge)) for all the world like it had free will, though its nature was in its programming, and if you understood it the way its Creator did, from before its beginning you could determine all it would be, in fact as its creator, not just by foresight, but by design . . . ?

i just wonder if we give God enough credit insofar as His robot-building skills. people who use that description tend to think of robots in a fairly simplistic way, IMHO.

Good. Then tell me how I'm a robot?
