Sorry, I really don't get it!

SoulSearch:

I've banned people from the forums for aggressive Catholic heresy. So if you're Catholic, I can see why you'd feel that way.

[You left a visitor message on my profile asking why the Catholic person was banned. I was nice enough to explain. If that's what you are reacting to, I don't know why you can't have the same kindness in your response -- and appreciate us having some general doctrinal standards, to keep our forum from being flooded with heresy.]

I've also banned a person from the forums for continually, dogmatically denying the deity of Christ. If you don't believe Jesus is God, I can see why you'd feel this way.

I've also banned a person for obviously being here for the sole purpose of promoting evolution as Bible doctrine (and promoting a particular site devoted to that). If you don't believe in Creation, I can see why you'd feel that way.

Otherwise, I'm sorry I really don't get it.

Anyway, if you are so extremely negative about our site, then don't use it. Or if you want to make a self-fulfilling prophecy (that we will ban you), then continue using our forum to bash us and our site, so that you can say "see there".

Anyway, we try really hard to provide a chat site and forum that is Christian, and non-denominational, yet not flooded with heresy. I guess you would do a much better job if you were running it? I really think you have little appreciation and understanding of what all is involved -- or you simply have a very different definition or understanding of what is heresy.

And no, I don't want to have to waste so much time responding to false accusations:

--------------

these folks can attack others with unbridled assaults while protected by their “clique status.”

Or if someone states positions that are not appreciated by a “moderator” then they are banned.

The only free flow of thought and communication allowed is by those who are in the “cliques.“

It is obvious that mature Believers don't belong here ...

----------

Very harsh (and false) accusations. Too harsh, and too false for me to accept. Unnecessarily extremely critical. Our moderators do a lot to keep this site clean, and they don't even get paid anything. The least they deserve is appreciation. I also help moderate, and as Administrator of this site I try to keep some consistency among the moderators, which also is a challenge that you cannot appreciate as you've never done it, so you just judge and criticize instead of appreciate the effort behind everything here.

Ive considered leaving myself but theres good and bad everywhere you go so....cantlabel as whole by a few ..ya know?
Again, thank you for your input. I LABEL no one - I simply endeavor to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit in all matters of my life. My time is limited - I must invest it wisely. Psalm 115:1

On a more serious note though, we need to just remember how to ..."weed" the forums......avoid what we don't learn from, find joy from, or encouragement from. Instead of fretting about the "cliques" find some others that enjoy the same type of chat you do, and take it from there..that's my advice anyways......Let God lead you and make decisions based on what is best for YOUR walk......amen

SoulSearch,

This site is a community of believers and, on occasions, other faiths from all over the world. Yes, there are groups of members that may be a little 'cliquey' at times, but no real harm to anyone's faith has become of it. We have all had our feelings hurt from time to time, with some leaving or wanting to leave but many come back. This site gives you the freedom to say what you want to anyone because it is an open forum. The moderators do a great job and should be commended. After all, if you have the Holy Spirit, you should have conviction in these areas, especially when communicating to others.

On those occasions when people get carried away with these 'off the wall tirades' or 'frivolous talk' they are checked on it and some even banned. Many of us have strikes against us and they were well deserved, to say the least. Things do get testy and heated and it is good to know when to back off and let others give their input. I have been chided again and again, some I respond to and others I do not. We are asked to handle these situations privately because that is the best way for all.

There is nothing wrong or lacking when you have strong convictions and no one should be afraid to express them. Anyone that walks in the Spirit should not be offended by anything. Those that love the word should not be offended either. When we walk in the flesh, that's when things get to us and we get upset and lose our confidence and contentment . When we recognize that happening, we go right to God and make it right. I hope that you, as one of the 'oldest' that post here, will consider how valuable your portion is to the body of Christ. Some may have made comments to the contrary, but in their heart they have love for you because of the Holy Spirit.
I do appreciate your input. But I couldn't disagree more. If a man walking in the Spirit isn't offended by evil, something is wrong. Psalm 97:10; Psalm 36:1-4, Proverbs 8:13, Romans 12:9, just to cite a few. Have a blessed day.

Yes, I have now banned this person -- for going on with false accusations against me and other moderators, both in public here (see his first post) and in private to me, even after receiving an infraction for the post. I know that my banning of him may make his accusations seem true in the eyes of some, but so be it. I have particular issue with the following accusations:

It is simply not true that "if someone states positions that are not appreciated by a “moderator” then they are banned".

(If that is true, someone please show me all the non-deserving bans! And by the way, often you may not even know the real reason for certain bans -- we get lots of things reported and lots of things happen, and we do our best to keep things clean, and we don't publish reasons for all bans.)

It is not true that "The only free flow of thought and communication allowed is by those who are in the “cliques.“

Okay this whole thing about "censorship" -- well what is "censored"?? His orginal complaint was about all the debating and arguing -- well that's coz we don't censor it, duh!!! We allow "free flow of thought and communication", duh! But yes, we do censor heresy, and oh yes, now lookie here, this particular thread was "censored". (Self-fulfilling prophecy.)

He received an infraction for making these false accusations against us and all I got in response was 2 Tim 3:12 ("everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted"), as if making false accuastions against other Christians is "godly", and as if I'm "persecuting" him for such "godly" actions.

Also I really don't see how it is true that these folks can attack others with unbridled assaults while protected by their “clique status.”

If someone is making "unbridled assaults" on you (anyone), feel free to report the offending post (there is a report button on every post!) And please don't accuse us of "protecting" people making "unbridled assaults".

The other statement that I at least disagree with is:

It is obvious that mature Believers don't belong here ...

I'd say that both mature and immature believers belong here. Granted there will be a lot of immature ones, but if I dared to ban all the "immature" ones, then I'd be accused even more of "censorship"!

Anyway............ please excuse me guys but I have a lot of work to do (non-CC work to support my family) .. so please have mercy :) I will try to withdraw myself from this "censored" thread.

I want to add that all the time I see doctrinal things posted in the forums here that I don't agree with. And I/we don't ban them.

Anyway....
