In the Bible, Jezebel was a powerful, wicked queen, and wife of a passive king called Ahab. She was a false prophetess who worshiped the false god, Baal. Baal was the god of prosperity, god of the harvests, god of fertility and sex. (Does this sound like some of the modern day gospels that some people preach?)

Child sacrifices were common. She was killed by several eunuchs at the order of commander Jehu.
Jezebel was a witch, and her spirit of witchcraft is still in operation today in the church, and in the world. It will take both a Jehu and the cooperation of the injured victims (spiritual eunuchs) to kill her again.

The Jezebel spirit is sociopathic. Behaviors you might see (3 or more):

1. They gain power by destroying others. It is like an adrenalin rush when they “win” over someone. They manage to get in positions of authority, and are difficult to displace, once there.

2. They are controlling, manipulative, bossy.

3. they can either be war-like in their personalities, so that they are intimidating,
or
so “sweet,” “perfect,” deceitful, “timid” and sneaky, they are able to fool and recruit others to join them. Sometimes they can be very charming and charismatic.

4. critical of others, vicious to the point of bloodthristy.

5. they are never wrong.

6. They recruit others in their charges against their victims. They act to persuade recruits, and do not give up this activity until the recruits are won over. If the potential recruits do not cooperate and buy into things, this angers them.

7. they are narcissic. While they can tend to be oversensitive themselves, they have no concern for the feelings of others. They are not sympathetic to their victims, and tend to play the role of victim themselves, in order to gain sympathy. This way the real victim is left stranded, and opposed by others if they ask for help. Being the center of attention really pleases them.

8. they lie, and they believe their own lie. Avoiding the truth, or intentionally acting to withhold truth is part of this. false picture is presented to others.

9. impulsive, failure to plan ahead. chaotic at times

10. lack of remorse after hurting someone. they justify the harm.

11. consistent irresponsibility.

12. irritability, aggressiveness (open , or subtle), can be quick tempered.

13. failure to conform to social norms. person is an “outlier” or non-conformist. has their own ways.

14. psychological counseling will not help, since they deny what they are.

15. claims to religious sentiments, but very superficial in devotion. Born-again status is debatable, and unlikely, but would have to be evaluated on an individual basis.

16. usually women, but can be men. The women tend to control their men with sex. And they pick passive men (Ahabs) so they can dominate them.

17. They falsely accuse you, and they do NOT forgive you …..

How to break this spirit:

**since these individuals usually have achieved some level of authority, only someone who outranks them, or a group effort will work. If you are a woman, you need to strong and self confident. If you are a man, you need to be the same, and also not be influenced by threats or tears out of a woman. You also need to have enough male hormone to stand up to her. Also, if you are a man, and this is your wife, be sure the men in your support group can be trusted with her.

1. be sure you are not enabling this person; ie. you are not an “Ahab”

2. gather facts about the person’s activity and behavior, be able to prove it. you have to start by addressing real behavior. you cannot start by telling someone “they have a spirit.” Be prepared to question the person why they behave that way. Make a list of wrongs. Be prepared.

3. gather witnesses, who are also sincere believers (if in a church setting), or other credible authority figures, because the person will attack back, and deny everything. The aggressive types will use their authority to abuse, criticize, & threaten you, and try to have you discredited, or removed. The more sneaky types go into “victim hood” mode, immediately trying to solicit and recruit support, and make you look like you are the abusive one.

4. isolate the person. make sure their own recruits (buddies) are not around. It gets its power from others….so if you get it alone, it is more vulnerable, and more easily defeated. You have to remove the source of its power and “gang up” on it.

5. confront the person with the facts. – expect denial. They will lie through their teeth!!

6. Reject the person’s behavior based on the facts. Tell the person they will not be accepted back into the group unless they repent.

7. If the person repents – showing willingness to change- then

a. Church setting – as a group, bind and cast out the demonic spirit in Jesus name, and persist until it is gone. Expect high resistance, since it is a controlling (witch) spirit. There will be screaming and yelling before it is cast out. It will try to attack you and call you names. Also, expect and ignore plays of “victim hood” during deliverance. Sometimes the spirit cycles between being the attacker, and being a victim. This is to confuse you, so do not give in.

b. secular setting – document records, give warning that future behavior will be monitored. This is because their basic nature has not changed yet, and an eventual repeat of behavior will occur. If it does, the person needs to be fired.

8. Once the spirit is gone, the person needs support and counseling to examine how the spirit entered to begin with, so they can close the door on further attempts by the spirit to enter.

9. If the person does NOT repent, then cut off ties with the person, telling them forgiveness and deliverance is available to them. If you do not cut off ties, they will worry you to death and destroy your peace.

As one commenter stated: The Jezebel needs to learn the meaning of the word “NO!!!!!!!!!“

forgot one important thing in your post: Pray to God and ask for His protection, guidance and healing to deal with the problem....Perhaps Jesus and God are in another part of this article on battling the spirit of Jezebel? but if not here are the Bible verses that would probably apply:

Psalm 141

A Psalm of David.

1 LORD, I cry out to You;
Make haste to me!
Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.
2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

3 Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.
4 Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice wicked works
With men who work iniquity;
And do not let me eat of their delicacies.

5 Let the righteous strike me;
It shall be a kindness.
And let him rebuke me;
It shall be as excellent oil;
Let my head not refuse it.

For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.
6 Their judges are overthrown by the sides of the cliff,
And they hear my words, for they are sweet.
7 Our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave,
As when one plows and breaks up the earth.

8 But my eyes are upon You, O GOD the Lord;
In You I take refuge;
Do not leave my soul destitute.
9 Keep me from the snares they have laid for me,
And from the traps of the workers of iniquity.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
While I escape safely.

Proverbs 5

The Peril of Adultery

1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
Lend your ear to my understanding,
2 That you may preserve discretion,
And your lips may keep knowledge.
3 For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey,
And her mouth is smoother than oil;
4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.
5 Her feet go down to death,
Her steps lay hold of hell.[a]
6 Lest you ponder her path of life—
Her ways are unstable;
You do not know them.
7 Therefore hear me now, my children,
And do not depart from the words of my mouth.
8 Remove your way far from her,
And do not go near the door of her house,
9 Lest you give your honor to others,
And your years to the cruel one;
10 Lest aliens be filled with your wealth,
And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;
11 And you mourn at last,
When your flesh and your body are consumed,
12 And say:

“ How I have hated instruction,
And my heart despised correction!
13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers,
Nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!
14 I was on the verge of total ruin,
In the midst of the assembly and congregation.”

cool.
could we get chapter & verse on all that?

or should we just consult the DSM?

if you can't back all that up in the scriptures, you're adding to the word of God, and in typical hyper-charismatic fashion are involved in demonology.

you realize that whole concept exists only in your charismatic sandbox, right? you're describing sinful women (and your pentecostal group applies this "spirit" to men as well....)
of course you do...nothing escapes you since you are perfect.

The Dishonoring of God in Popular Spiritual Warfare Teaching,

by Bob DeWaay

The following is an excerpt from Pastor DeWaay’s article, The Dishonoring of God in Popular Spiritual Warfare Teaching. From the chapter is titled: So Why are There Still Problems?

So Why are There Still Problems?
Having taught that Christ regained God's legal right to his own creation, spiritual warfare teachers go on to explain why the world is still in a mess. The problem is with the church. According to their theories, Christ gained victory, and sits far above all principalities and powers (Ephesians 1:20-22), which is true. Christ has all authority. However, they claim that control over the heavenlies has to be gained by the church. Christ's exalted status will do no good if the church, to whom He has delegated His authority (remember that they assume delegated authority means lost or transferred authority), fumbles the ball. Alas, what happened with Adam potentially can happen again.

This problem is explained in a number of ways by various teachers. Ed Silvoso teaches: "The Church has now been placed potentially in control of the heavenly places once ruled by the prince of the power of the air. But the church must engage and defeat the enemy to retake the heavenlies in the name of her Lord, so that the eyes of those still being held captive by Satan will be opened."10 Of course the church lived in ignorance for nearly two thousand years until modern spiritual warfare teachers came along to teach us. The preaching of the gospel, faith toward God, and regeneration of the Holy Spirit supposedly is thwarted until the church "controls" the heavenlies.

The church was never commissioned to control the heavenlies. Consider this: Jesus told Peter that Satan had demanded from God "permission" to sift Peter like wheat (Luke 22:31). God, in His sovereign oversight of the universe, gave it to Satan, but it only led to Peter's conversion and subsequent ministry. Once we are in charge of the heavenlies will Satan have to ask us rather than God for such permission? Does the church have sufficient knowledge, wisdom, and power to rule a realm of being that is only partially described in the Bible and to rule this realm for everyone's good? I think not the church is not designed and equipped to do so. God is in charge of the heavenlies. Whatever God's providence allows Satan and his evil cohorts to do will only lead to the benefit of God's people and the glory of God's immutable purposes (see Romans 8:28-39). Christ authorized the church to "make disciples," not take control over the heavenlies.

Many spiritual warfare teachers twist the scriptures to make it appear that we are to rule the earth and the heavenlies. They quote the following passage: "And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." (Ephesians 1:22,23). The assumption is that he gave the church as head over all things that as His body we are to exercise authority over "all things." However, the passage does not state that He gave "headship over all things to the church," but that He gave "Him as head over all things to the church"! There is a huge difference. We have received Christ, not headship. Christ rules and Satan still has to ask permission as in Peter's situation. Our security is in Christ and His benevolent rule over His own creation, not in our supposed rule in His stead.

Dominion spiritual warfare teachers think God is at the mercy of the church. They teach a "vulnerable" God, severely limited in His oversight of His own creation. For example, Silvoso teaches that the church has the power to turn the earth and the heavenly places over to Satan. He writes: "Satan's only option is to try to deceive the Church, God's agent on earth, into yielding to him what has been entrusted to her care by God, much like what he did to Eve, and then to Adam, in the garden."11 He consistently repeats the theme that the church is in the position to give jurisdiction over the heavenlies and thereby the destiny of the cities of the earth to Satan. God could supposedly be back in the same sorry state that these teachers claim He was in the Old Testament.

We ought not to consider God vulnerable and limited even in the context of our God-given responsibility to preach the Gospel. Yet Silvoso writes, "[P]rayer operates in the realm of God's self-imposed limitations. These are areas where God, for reasons unknown to us, chose to limit His options and, consequently, His freedom of action."12 Another spiritual warfare author says, "How vulnerable God has made Himself to us!" Christ will build His church. God chooses people out of the mass of perdition and sends them forth with His saving message. Never does God call us to be cosmic rulers or masters of a universe from which He has backed off and left us or else the devil to take charge.

To show that I am not over-stating their claims, consider this statement by Francis Frangipane who claims to have sold hundreds of thousands of spiritual warfare books:

The church that successfully wars against Jezebel will be a church that inherits the glorious "morning star," which will be visible outward glory, a symbol of hidden, inward purity. It will be a church that exercises "authority over the nations," uniquely because it has conquered the Jezebel spirit which sought to strip God's servants of authority.14

He supposes that the Jezebel in Revelation 2:20 is a spirit being that is currently controlling much of society and the church. Jezebel's principle enemies are modern prophets who are "Elijah" coming in spirit before the coming of the Lord. He states, "Seeing Jezebel so blatantly manifest herself only confirms that the spirit of Elijah is also here bringing repentance and raising up warring prophets throughout our land!"15 In keeping with common dominionist spiritual warfare claims, this assumes that the church throughout history allowed itself and the rest of society to be ruled by Satan's agents, but that now new prophets with new revelations are going to bring us into world dominion.

hmmm like this star?

Acts 7
42 Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the Prophets:

‘ Did you offer Me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness,
O house of Israel?
43 You also took up the tabernacle of Moloch,
And the star of your god Remphan,
Images which you made to worship;
And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’[m

Or perhaps we should talk about the Son of the Morning who fell from Heaven?

Isaiah 14
12 “ How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart:

‘ I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’
15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,
To the lowest depths of the Pit.
16 “ Those who see you will gaze at you,
And consider you, saying:

‘ Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
Who shook kingdoms,
17 Who made the world as a wilderness
And destroyed its cities,
Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’
18 “ All the kings of the nations,
All of them, sleep in glory,
Everyone in his own house;
19 But you are cast out of your grave
Like an abominable branch,
Like the garment of those who are slain,
Thrust through with a sword,
Who go down to the stones of the pit,
Like a corpse trodden underfoot.
20 You will not be joined with them in burial,
Because you have destroyed your land
And slain your people.
The brood of evildoers shall never be named.

Revelation 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

I believe that a Jezebel is a woman who meets these qualifications:
1. female leadership (teaching)
2. fornication
3. idol worship

The Bible teaches:
1. I Timothy 2:12-13 But I suffer(allow) not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
2. Ephesians 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleaness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
3. Acts 15:29 "That ye abstain from meats offered to idols,..."

Women teachers are popular in the United States in many ways. But to see all three of these problems (which I think would be obvious) in one person is not as popular. Fornication alone is enough to say you have a wicked person in your church. To have a fornicator teaching and practising another religion in the Church is not so popular in Christianity. But in Revelation we see that it is possible. God save those Christian people where this is allowed!

that's the one.
evil is good, black is white...the church is "DEAD", "devoid of 'the spirit'"...in need of a NEW BREED of 'servants', who will correct the church....because they HEAR THE SPIRIT.

RICK JOYNER...of MORNINGSTAR MINISTRIES

Rick Joyner – Dressed as a Knight of Malta

Doesn’t Rick Joyner (right) look just smashing in this Freemasonry “Knights of Malta” outfit.

“This Order, which at various times in the progress of its history received the names of Knights Hospitalers, Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights of Rhodes, and lastly, Knights of Malta, was one of the most important of the religious and military orders of knighthood which sprang into existence during the Crusades which were instituted for the recovery of the Holy Land. It owes its origin to the Hospitalers of Jerusalem, that wholly religious and charitable Order which was established at Jerusalem, in 1048, by pious merchants of Amalfi for the succor of poor and distressed Latin pilgrims…

While I've heard the name (Francis however you spell it) or may have seen him while channel surfing, I don't recall ever reading anyone of his books or sermons so I wouldn't know what the guy preaches or teaches.

As for the "Spirit of Jezebel", I have seen them in several churches, sowing strife and causing discord. I personally had to deal with one a few years back who attempted to ruin our youth pastor's reputation in the hopes of replacing him. It wasn't a fun situation but I learned from a lot from the experience. Especially how to identify this evil spirit at work. It's not a desirable situation to be in but for some reason the Lord has used me in the past to expose them on occasion. Why should CC be any different?

Exactly. A domineering personality is the #1 characteristic in a Jezebel. They love to Lord over others, especially men, and love to use popular doctrine as a tool to manipulate others into joining their cause. Basically they get their "kicks" by talking down to men.

1. how did you identify the spirit?
2. how was it trying to ruin the youth pastor's rep?
3. how did you and the elders of the church deal with it?

Sure, no problem. I will when I have more time.

While I've heard the name (Francis however you spell it) or may have seen him while channel surfing, I don't recall ever reading anyone of his books or sermons so I wouldn't know what the guy preaches or teaches.
cop-out.
Bob DeWay just showed you.
and you brush it off. but now you can't say you didn't know.

if your church is charismatic and/or 'five-fold' you're partaking of your own fruit.

cool.
could we get chapter & verse on all that?

or should we just consult the DSM?

if you can't back all that up in the scriptures, you're adding to the word of God, and in typical hyper-charismatic fashion are involved in demonology.

you realize that whole concept exists only in your charismatic sandbox, right? you're describing sinful women (and your pentecostal group applies this "spirit" to men as well....)
of course you do...nothing escapes you since you are perfect.
We do not need verses to understand this things, he picks up a bible character and explains about her!. Do you need a scripture to show you that Jezebel was conniving, devious etc???..

And don't you think it's quite suspicious that you find it necessary to attack this Man. Noting the facts that he didn't give any names on this site neither did he call your name..

I mean any believer will believe(without verses) that Jezebel was all of these and that there are people like her today even in the church.. Except of course you feel guilty or insecure about this thread. Which is very, very SUSPICIOUS..:)

Love Tobby :D

To be honest zone i didn't understand the *blue and red part* so if you could just explain that :)

And zone we need scriptures when talking about demons.. I think the one that is important to know is that they (Demons) can be cast out

And zone i don't believe in Perfectionism, i believe in a Sinless life just like our Lord Jesus Christ did. Since he is our Perfect example :)

amen Tobby.
we do need scriptures for everything we do in the Lord's Name.
if it isn't clearly written we need to be careful. demonology is very harmful and is forbidden.

we can talk about today's 'deliverance" ministries later if ya want also.

AMEN TOBBY!
i'm glad you don't believe anyone but Jesus is Perfect.

one day we will be glorified but right now we are stuck in our bodies. and striving to live a life free from bondage to sin is exactly what we want to do. thank you for reminding me of that.

love zone.

Wonders why every thing has to be about Zone? Just because some believe that there's a spirit at work here on the boards, doesn't necessarily mean it's about a particular person. Keep in mind, we're talking about a spirit for "we don't wrestle with flesh and blood but rather principalities and powers...".

Historically, Jezebel was wicked woman in the Old Testament from the land of Phoenicia. She was the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians or Tyre and Sidon. King Ahab of Israel, the son of Omri -- who reigned while Elijah was prophet -- did evil in the sight of the Lord, took Jezebel in marriage and went and served Baal (1 Kgs. 16: 30-31).

Although Ahab did more to provoke the Lord's anger then any other king, some say Jezebel’s marriage to Ahab, more than any other single event, caused the downfall of the northern kingdom of Israel; Jezebel introduced into Israel the worst forms of idolatry, including Goddess worship, from her land in place of the worship of God Almighty (1 Kgs. 18: 13, 19).

Jezebel murdered many of God’s prophets, 1 Kgs. 18: 4. Jezebel threatened to kill Elijah, 1 Kgs. 19: 1-3. Jehu ended the wickedness of the historical Jezebel with her terrible death, 2 Kgs. 9: 30-37. He commanded her eunuchs to throw her down.

But the spirit of Jezebel continued on. In the book of the Revelation of Jesus, Christ mentioned this evil seducing influence. Obviously he wasn't dealing with the historical figure of Jezebel, since she was long gone. But a spirit of Jezebel....
And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 2:18-29
Jesus charged the church with NOT tolerating the false prophetess Jezebel. What can we learn from this?
