Hmmm I like What you have said here. while I am not sure I 100% agree that could be due to misunderstanding of what you are saying.

For instance I also believe that perfect flesh is not possible. but if one puts to death the flesh through Christ by submission to God. then they live a new life as a new creature and not according to the flesh. Thus one can live a life like Jesus did. but it is only due to constant submission to God and Dying to self every day.

I believe that someone who dies to self through Jesus sacrifice and lives anew through the Spirit can obey Gods law. In fact this is my own experience that agrees with this and is substantiated in the Word of God. However let me explain in as simple a way as I can.

A puppet can do nothing on its own. if I want a puppet to pick up a stick or even move no matter how much it wants to it can not do it. but if i put my hand in it and then move it then it has done it.

This is not the best illustration but will do. I can not keep the law of God no matter how much I try or How much I want to. but If I chose to submit to Jesus and accept his sacrifice for my sins and then accept the gift of the Spirit in my life. then God will keep the law through me. so in fact it is not I but Christ in me that does the works. Just as Jesus said it was not Him but his Father who did the works. that way we can take no glory to ourselves.

So it is in fact the Holy Spirit within me who animates my members to obey the law of God. and this is the only way to obey God. by daily submitting to God through Jesus name and by the power of the Spirit. I like the way Paul puts it.

Have you ever thought that Jesus did more for us than you realise? That maybe, just maybe Jesus can change us from a sinner back into our original image. Paul says yes, Jesus is able to deliver us from this body of Death. so that we no longer walk according to the sinful flesh but according to the spirit.

From reading what you have written here I would suggest that we are probably on the same page. or at least very close. possibly I am just misunderstanding the way you word things. and by some of your replies I think you misunderstand me also. I agree that perfectionism is Heresy also. and so if any of my post sounded like I believe in that then it is my inability to explain my view in clear words.

The truth is that perfectionism is very close to real Thing. the major difference is the end result. I totally agree with you that we should be more sensitive to our sin as we grow closer to Christ. That has been my experience. Christ has freed me from worldy music, TV movies. swearing. lusting. coveting. and many other things. but I see things about my Character that deeply grieve me now that I never gave notice to now. weather its im impatient or speak without really thinking etc. My struggle is more internal now than external.

So while I have much to praise God for overcoming sin. I am still learning and still growing in Grace. but every year There are things left behind. ground covered. changes in my character. whether or not we get to a place where we stop sinning or not is irrelevant. its the daily submitting that matters.

I will ask this... What is this SEALING A PERSON? Looks like the Holy Spirit does a WORK of sealing?
Yes it is the Holy Spirit


Sealing in what, and how thoroughly is this person sealed? Sealed from wrath forever, trained in the paths of righteousness for Good works for life


Please explain what it means to ABIDING HIM means, and what this sealing means? that is a long one and I have to take my son to the bus stop soon, I will get back to you on that one if I get a chance


You see this is what I cannot understand... I look any day as good as any of you. But yet even though I do not want to sin, I still sin. AND I HATE IT! Will I have to hate sin in me ALL my life? yes

This form of godliness but forsaked the power thereof... Oh there is millions of people like that. That seal Ananda talks about here is a seal in HOLINESS... IN GOD HIMSELF! and the wicket one CANNOT GET TO US THERE... you obviously forgot that AFTER the Holy Spirit descended upon JESUS at His baptism. He was lead to the desert and was tempted by Satan. If the wicked one can reach JESUS why do you think YOU will be exempt? After baptism is the time when most new Christians will be tempted the most and if you resist GOd will allow you to overcome and the enemy will flee.

I know God does want me to have peace, and even the smallest of sin, desturbs the peace, but thank GOD, in Chrsit Jesus is no sin, and IN Christ Jesus is rest, I just hope God lets me in! Amen!

over focus on sin and death and POWER, under focus on JESUS, life and HIs sanctification in the lives of believers through His grace not for power but so that we might do the good works He created us for. to continually say "God your workmanship is shoddy or not enough" saddens my heart. to say in your heart "God you MUST give me godliness power" is prideful and spoilt.

What our thoughts should be upon is God's glory who can use what ever vessel HE crafts for His work in this world be it "perfect" or be it "flawed" we should seek to abide in Him. God has entrusted us with all the power and skills we need to accomplish the task and run the race He places before us.
