Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

I do this all the time online, even drink their deadly poison and it still doesn't hurt me. :)
That one always reminded me of this part in Ezekiel

Thou dost dwell among scorpions be not afraid of their words

Even as James says

T
he tongue is full of deadly poison

O generation of vipers, how can ye being evil, speak good things?

Their throat is an open sepulchre with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips

Which always reminded me of this too

They shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them

The things I'm starting to question,

1) Why does the Holy Spirit not perform miracles through believers today? Like in the bible days. If the Spirit is always miraculous and no one but God can perform miracles, and back in that time if someone performed (true) miracles it would have been because the Spirit.

2) I see verses such as 1 Cor. 12:13 and Ephesians 1:13-14. People will say this means that all believers are indwelt and sealed with the Spirit the moment they believe. But 1 Cor. 12:13 I'm not always seeing that same interpretation. And in Ephesians 1:13-14 Paul was writing to those in the church of Ephesus who were already baptized into Christ and became Christians. From my understanding they would of course need the Spirit to have assurance of salvation by the miracles they could perform, it was not some "invisible" seal. They did not have the full completed bible to have the knowledge they needed, they would need the Spirit and the proof of miracles from the Spirit that they were right with God.

I just don't understand why we have the 'non-miraculous' Holy Spirit today. Time and time again anyone and everyone in the bible who had the help of the Holy Spirit could preform miracles. So why did it just stop?
I've been studying with this church (the church of Christ) who does not believe Christians today are indwelt with the Holy Spirit so, thats why I'm questioning this. I'm very skeptical and don't believe just anything when it comes to faith. But what they are teaching me is starting to convince me other wise... and I am just a little frustrated.
stop seeking the holy spirit. seek yahweh, father, god the creator, by faith in jesus christ, yahweh willing,

if you want to know the truth. it is written there is only one name..... (you know the rest....or can find it)... ...

you cannot tell as if by judging credentials, results, or 'fruit' because, remember, the whole world is deceived - even all the ones who cry out "lord, lord.... " and are turned away by yahshua himself on judgment day when it is too late for them.....

the whole world has already been deceived by the harlot, and all the leaders of all the nations have committed atrocities and spiritual adultery(and worse) with her since circus 300a.d. ... ... ...

remember before yahshua returns the whole world is deceived and the whole world refuses to repent of worshiping demons (revelation).
