Is declaring "Jesus is Lord" basically just affirming that Jesus is God and the Lord of all creation?

Not necessarily, the definition is; 1. NOUN, someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler. 2. VERB, act in a superior and domineering manner toward (someone)... So lordship can have different connotations depending on how its implied, assigned, or expressed.. For instance, saying that I'm the "lord of the manor" has no divine implications.

Many referred to Jesus as Lord in the sense of master, leader, teacher (rabbi), etc.. But certainly in the context of "Lord of all creation", a person is acknowledging Christ as God, the LORD of our salvation.. I believe this was best expressed by one of the apostles; "Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God." (John 20:28)

It is that and more - Declaring Jesus is Lord means that he is the ruler and master of all the universe and also of my life (at least if I mean he is MY Lord). What glory to be able to acknowledge and to serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who brings joy, peace, and victory over sin into our lives!

Actually, declaring Jesus, Yeshua, is Lord as you described indicates the person knows by the Holy Spirit. This testimony is also the Spirit of prophesy according to Revelation.

Like all words relating wisdom and truth from above, there can be many attributes to the meaning. This is our Father's mind at work, not ours…...He gives us the understanding.

Just as now, if you understand what I have relate, it is not I from Whom you are receiving it, it is of the Holy Spirit.
While I agree with this I will also say there is a flip side to the coin....

Lord, Lord, have we not done many wonderful works in your name, have we not etc........

NOT everyone that calls JESUS LORD is saying so by the Holy Spirit........here is a MULTITUDE called MANY by JESUS (PLENTEOUS in NUMBER) that are cast from his presence because HE NEVER KNEW THEM.......LOST, religious MEN that claimed FAITH and fully believed their works would EARN entrance into the kingdom............

There's only One! :)

Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. Rom.14:4

I am not passing judgement, who is?
Lol...I guess people in the church who had a problem at lunch time (vs.3), or people who thought one day was more special than the next (vs.5-6). Oh Lord hahaha!

My point was, Paul is saying all people have the same master. That's God. :)
