People forget who God is I think.

They tend to humanize God. I can easily think someone is faithful to me, and give him things because of that, Not knowing the person was not faithful at all. He was just trying to get things from me, Because he knew I had them, Once he got them, his faithfulness to me disappeared. He got what he wanted, and his sacrifice for me stopped. And he used those things for his own selfishness.

God is not like that,

1. We can not fool God into thinking we are trusting him, when we have no faith in him at all

2. We can not fool God into thinking that we sincerely desire to have this gift of eternal life. when we are not even sure it is real

3. If a person's repentance is half hearted and not pure, God knows it,

4. If a persons faith is non existent, but is merely a belief without trust and assurance, God knows. he is not fooled

5. God knows if a person says today, I trust you God, I want your gift, but ten years from now is going to give God the finger, walk away and deny he even exists.

6. God knows if a person says I want your gift, But is going to continue to live in selfish willful sin.

God knows all these things, and so so much more.

it is my opinion, That anyone who thinks God will save someone, then have to take back that salvation because the person did not do whatever it is they needed to do, Does not know God at all. Give God a bad nae, and Make God something he is not.

In Hebrews 10:26, to "sin willfully" in the Greek carries the idea of deliberate intention that is habitual, which stems from rejecting Christ deliberately. This is CONTINUOUS ACTION - A MATTER OF PRACTICE.

Now we don't walk along our daily life and accidently fall into a pit called sin. We exercise our will but, the use of the participle clearly shows a CONTINUOUS ACTION. The unrighteous practice sin - (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21) not the righteous, who are born of God - (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 John 3:9).

In context, we see in verse 39, the author sets up the contrast that makes it clear to me that he was referring to unbelievers, not saved people: But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Those who draw back to perdition do not believe to the saving of the soul and those who believe to the saving of the soul do not draw back to perdition.

Amen brother, Why is it that people only take certain verses in a passage, and try to make doctrines out of them, Instead of taking the whole passage, I think if we would do this, we would be more united, and satan would have less power.

Heres things written of before also

1Cor.10

[1] Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
[2] And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
[3] And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
[4] And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
[5] But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
[6] Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
[7] Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
[8] Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
[9] Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
[10] Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
[11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Great scriptures showing how we need to believe in all things to do with our salvation and what Jesus bought for us with His blood. We can be destroyed here on this earth if we do not believe in the promises of God for us! Believe in the finished work of Christ and walk in the knowledge that He is faithful and we have a great salvation in Him alone!

Israel in the wilderness were all destroyed except for Caleb and Joshua because the believed the word of the Lord.

Those are great scriptures - thanks for posting them! They remind us to believe in all that the Lord has already done for us in His completed work.

Heres another I forgot to add this one

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

One thing to remember.

These people complained daily, They Never trusted God, nor Moses. God did miracle after miracle. Yet they never once praised God. all they were worried about was food, They lacked faith so bad they had Arron make a calf. They always wanted to go back to egypt.

They resemble many fakes, who may go to churhc, but have no faith at all. they were never saved, And never will be if they do not repent, they will end up like the people in the wilderness.. Lost forever.. Never able to enter the great promised land in the sky.

I do pray your not using this to try to prove one can lose salvation.

Can we all agree here, that sinners who live in unadulterated habitual sin have never seen or known God, and will not make it to heaven?

can I get an amen, so we can move onto the next topic..

Amen! Jude 1:5 - Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.

Gets no more clear that that.

Those who do not have faith in God will not make it to heaven.. we will know them by their fruits..

Complaining day after day after day about being in the desert, and not being grateful to the God who has supplied all your needs day after day after day all your life. Living in willful rebellion with all kids of sexual sin, thievery, immorality, is not bearing fruit..

II Timothy 1:12 "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have commited unto Him against that day."

My salvation is eternal. No help needed from me. It is all on Jesus. He said eternal, not until I sin or change my mind or lose faith. God does not lie.
Sorry about you folks who are not persuaded. I pray for your eternal soul.

also, despite all the complaining, not trusting. ( after I walked through a big body of water that had been supernaturaly moved , that would do for me, but hey, that's just me) God faithfully took them to the promised land.
=
at that point, they refused to go in it. the failure was the people, not God. he was and is faithful to his promises.

That's why the Lord made a New Covenant that was all dependent on what He has done for us for eternal salvation. It's so strange how people can try to make ways for God to keep us out of being with Him. They must not know His heart and love for us at all.

Thats because some people do not trust God.

they say, if I except him, I will have to do all this stuff. and give up all this fun. Ewww. I do not want that, That will nto be a fun life, Thanks god, But That scares me, I do not want that.

It is not because God did not offer them a better life, they just could not see it (trust it)

Is grace conditional or unconditional? If you believe it is conditional how can it be grace? If you believe it's conditional how can you be saved?
Because grace is GOD's disposition towards the obedient. It is not a law or GOD itself.

Thats not grace, Thats earning a reward. Which is a wage, That is the opposite of grace.

Thats saying i will give you this, If you do that.

God idd not negotiate a union meeting where as long as people does these things, He will save them, butif they slack of. Well then they are fired.

God said you can not earn what I have to give you. So I will send my son and pay the price for you. And if you just trust me, I will give it to you.

I think we need to actually think about what is said.

Eternal means forever, Never-ending, without end, ....
Sometimes if we just set aside our biases, and think about what we are saying, the answer will be right in front of us.
You're right, they are called principles. There are a number of them in the scriptures such as Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. [Matt 4:4][Duet 8:3]

Don't want to be like Abel, just sat there crying when the LORD walked right past him to speak with Cain.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain,.....
....God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Heb 11:4

Obedient---complying with the commands, orders, or instructions.
Obedience is a verb
A verb implies action or work.

God's grace is not based on your obedience, i.e. work.
