Let's be honest here, who do you know is a Puritan?

What does it matter if it's a practice the predates Islam and Christianity, it's still happening in these places and people use Islamic influences to justify it. And that's just an example, women are constantly rejected in their civil rights under Islam.

America has the more freedom than most countries, and certainly more than Islamic countries. Where is the dispute? It's factual. There are rules put into place where women are severally limited in their rights. Just because there are some Muslim female religious leaders in Egypt doesn't negate thousands of women who will be flogged for talking to men who aren't in their immediate family!

Pay rates, oh wow, how do women in America stand the discrimination of pay rates? Such persecution is criminal.
You would be very interested in a book by Ayaan Ali called "Infadel" She is a Somali woman who became a Dutch M.P.
In particular regarding women, four recent cases illustrate the present state of Islam regarding woman.
1. Woman in a car with a man (not her husband)--she had her husband's permission. They are kidnapped and she is gang raped. She is sentenced to a year in prison and fifty lashes by the Sharia courts. When she appeals, her sentence is doubled.
2. A Filipino pregnant woman is raped and sentenced to one imprisonment. She is pregnant from the rape and loses the baby while in prison.
3. An unmarried woman is gang raped and sentenced to one hundred lashes for "illegal sex".
4. An American businesswoman is in the middle of a meeting when the power goes out in the building. They move the meeting to a private booth at a tea shop across the street. She is arrested for sitting with a man who is not her husband. She is strip searched and force to confess.
Our society is a worked in progress. The freedom and tolerance within our society is largely a result of the influence of Christianity. The societies of Islamic countries are the result of Islam.
I do not think that Moslems are evil, I think that Islam is.

Islam is based upon five (some say six) pillars.
1. confession that there is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet.
2. daily prayers, in Arabic, facing Mecca.
3. fasting during Ramadan
4. the giving of benevolences
5. going on a Hadj to Mecca and performing a series of rituals
Finally, the jihad, which is the war against evil. This can be internal or external.
Regarding morality, Islam instructs violence ("When you meet the unbelievers, strike them in the neck."), justifies deceit, and views women as little more than cattle.
More importantly, millions of Moslems are looking to Islam for peace and salvation. This is the ultimate deception. Islam is evil.

Well, I dont mean to judge anybody or anything, and if so, pls forgive me,..im just gonna share with u the major reasons why i changed my faith from being a Muslim to being a Christian...

1. My prayers had NEVER been answered while i was a Muslim, as opposed to now, whereby everytime I asked from The Lord, He would answer me (in accordance to His Will)

2. From my experience as a Muslim before, when I took Islamic Studies classes, or watch any Islamic preaching, the preachers, or teachers whatever u call it, always condemned other people who had a different faith than Islam. I find it annoying rather, and it is not attractive at all because instead of condemning other people, why not focus on building character within their own people. I have been to church and watch church online, it amazes me that none of the preachers ever convict other faith or people who follow other faith. Instead, they are focusing on improving lives as a Christian and teach people about Jesus by not comparing it with other beliefs.

3. I am impressed with God's Words in the Bible in which I dont find it in the Koran. For example, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged” (Matthew 7:1), etc...
4. I find that Islam focus on so much of punishment, and not so much of forgiveness. For example, if you commit adultery, u will be stoned to death. Yet in the Bible, Jesus forgave a woman who commited adultery in John 8.

5. I find that Islam is a forceful belief. I was born a Muslim and I have to stick with the belief, and cant change it. If I do, I will be persecuted (at least in my country). So now, I am practising my faith in Jesus in secret.
Yours is a wonderful testimony. I appreciate your insight and your fearlessness. I will pray for your safety, even as I pray for the salvation of your family and your people.

It is the people in the religion who make it evil. Religion is an object. It can not be inherently evil or good. Those are qualities reserved for mankind and the actions of mankind.

Let's juxtapose the question to Christianity. Is Christianity evil? Women were not treated as equals until the Industrial Revolution. The Irish Republican Army bombed English buses and killed English hostages in order to defend Catholicism and the Irish state. The Protestants and Catholics brutally murdered the Anabaptists. I would say that it is the people who do those things in the name of religion is evil. There are evil Christians but Christianity is not evil. There are evil Muslims but Islam is not evil.
Hi Cleante,
I have used your post as it is the last post prior to my joining in. I could have used any number of posts or several posts.
Love the people hate evil. Does the Quran lead people to Jesus Christ. It does not. If you believe scripture and Jesus endorsed scripture then you have to believe Jesus, who said he is the way, the truth. Any who came before me jumped over the fence. eg Buddha. Many will come after eg Muslims. Why should anyone endorse poison because it tastes sweet.
There are a million lies but there is only one truth.
Jesus said his sheep would recognise his voice. The holy bible is His voice, and Jesus only ever spoke His words.
If a person does not recognise God's word then it can mean that their time is not yet or that their father is Satan. This we are not to judge. I did not hear God's word possibly until I was in my 50's. Prior to that you could take many examples from my life and say I practised evil.
love your neighbour, hate evil. Scripture tells us the nature of God, so that we may fear Him and love Him. You can not love someone you do not know.
love

I had one friend who lived in the Philippians if I remember right and he was a small guy. He told me that there were Muslims who saw small men like him and he had to beware of rape gangs in the middle of the day. And the men scream at each other to establish dominance.

I have a family from Pakistan I go to there house for a Bible study they have once a month they live 50 miles from me. and they feed us really good Pakistan food Our pastor gave them a butchered goat two months ago, they wanted him next time to give them the head so they could make goat's head soup they said the head is the best part. They don't trust Muslims because Muslims don't treat them well in Pakistan.

Then there was a pastor from Ethiopia or one of those African countries and he had a fear of waking up with his throat slit when he was sleeping.

Any belief system that offers paths to heaven other than the truth that Jesus Christ came to reveal and die for is a false religion and has its roots in the thoughts of man and of demons. Even the Pharisees, in Christ's time, were called out by Jesus and were told their father was the devil because they were following their own deceptive beliefs. In a world that prioritizes political correctness over truth, many, if not billions, will say it's wrong to say that Islam is evil, but once again, any type of system that would keep people from knowing and understanding the salvation from their sins through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a deception from the evil one himself into the ears and hearts of those that took the time to listen.
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." - Ephesians 6:12
One important thing to remember is that while we were still in our sins, Christ died for us, and likewise, he also has died for them although they still do not know Him. We must place on them the same value that He placed on us even before we became part of His family. We must, on one hand, stand up against any deceptive system while on the other, embrace it's people with the same love all the while speaking the love and saving power of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

No matter wht God loves them as much as he loves us!

I listen to this pastor a lot, who is envolved in Israel and Palestina and everywhere and he is great!
So of course he feels the burden of the Muslims since they are still lost.
It is amazing how much the Islam and Christianity have in common.

We both believe in fallowing things:
- We believe in the same God (the God of Abraham)
-We believe in the Torra and the Psalms and four Gospels (However they believe that the Jews changed our version of it) And they believe that only their version is the right one.
-We believe in fasting and praying and offering and charity
-We believe in Angels
-We believe in Judgement
-We believe in Hell
-We believe in Paradise

When it comes to Jesus though:
-When we say that Jesus was consived by Mary through the Holy Spirit they will say :
"The Koran says that!"
-That Jesus was bron through the Holy Spirit supernaturally and they will say:
"The Koran says that!"
-Then we would say that He is the Son of God and they say:
"Hold it! We don't believe that! He is one of the 27 great Prophets yes... But Allah never had a son!"

But without believing that Jesus is our Savior, the Son of Man, the Son of God, the Lamb and Lion and that only through Him we will be able to be forgiven of our sins... All the points the Islam and Christianity agree on mean little....

And they also don't believe in the Trinity of Father, Son and Spirit.

They believe that when they die they will be jugded by how many good deeds they have done. And if they outweight the bad deeds they can go to Paradise.
The only way to be sure of paradise is a Jahad... To kill innocent people in a Bobmattack or however they choose....

Wether or not they are evil is not of a point.
In Gods eyes all sin is equal. So if they beat their wives it isn't worse than me having a horrible thought of someone at the place I work.

God deffenetly loves Muslims just as much as he loved us when we were lost! And He yearns to call them his Children and that is why it is so important that we don't just call them evil and let go of them!

I want to encourage you to pray for the Muslims, for theyr salvation and also for the savety of the missionayries that are risking their lives to win over Muslims to Christianity!
Pray also for our Chrisitan brothers and sisters that are being persecuted in places where the Islam reighns and pray that their families might be saved as well...

thanks for your time :)

From the position of Christian theism, the violence found in Islam is evil. Violence in Islam, whether in the form of terrorism, or the persecution goodwill around the world to know that underneath all the political, of Christians and other minorities in the Muslim world, or capital punishment for an individual who turns away from Islam, or death threats on Salman Rushdie for allegedly insulting prophet Muhammad, are not simply some isolated incidents or aberrations from the true and peaceful seriously than at any other time in the past.

Muslims murdered 80,000,000 Hindus, for example, during an expansion period into India which Will Durant, the famous historian, summed up like this:
"The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history." Though I think Dr. R. J. Rummel, the professor emeritus of political science at the University of Hawaii who is a recognized and published expert on the subject of religious and political democide, argued that state atheism superceded it with a figure of 262 million diminished in the 20th century. The point; however, is that such violence goes to the very roots of Islam as found in the Qur'an and the actions and teachings of the prophet of Islam himself. It's no accident that we find Osama bin Laden quoting Qur'anic and hadith passages as his justification for murder.

Consider compulsory public education in Saudi Arabia includes lessons for children such as The Victory of Muslims Over Jews." According to a tradition from prophet Muhammad, "The last hour won't come before the Muslims would fight the Jews and the Muslims will kill them so Jews would hide behind rocks and trees. Then the rocks and trees would call: oh, Muslim, oh, servant of God!" Violence and murder are ingrained in the religion.

Ideas have consequences. It has also become very clear for our world that violent ideas have violent consequences. We are not engaging in old Christian-Muslim polemics when we point out the prevalence of violence throughout the foundations and thus subsequent history of Islam. We only expose the teachings in the most original and authoritative sources of Islam. Underneath all the political, social, and cultural causes for the rise of violence among Muslims, there is a religious foundation for violence deeply embedded within. The world needs to take the challenge of Islam seriously.

Allah's Apostle said, "Know that Paradise is under the shades of words."

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' and whoever says,'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' his life and property will be saved by me..."
'Moderate' Muslim would tell you that this is not to be taking literally, it is a Metaphor, to fight with the people till they say 'None has the right to be worshiped but Allah (The God) ' is not to be taken literally ... rather, it means to fight with words, to debate, to confront ideas, ... or in other words, to fight with the sword of intellect.

It is not fitting for a prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he has made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land..."

"Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."
Apostasy ?
Etc...
Islam does not endorse the behaviors of all 'muslim' people. It is not about Islam being Evil ... the thing is that Islam MUST be evil because it is perceived as a threat to Christianity. It is not about the Quran being a lie, nor a about the prophet being a false prophet. but rather, the Quran MUST be a lie, and the prophet Muhammad (on whom be peace) MUST be a false prophet otherwise that would mean that 'I' (in the Christian mind) am on the wrong path.

Islam = Violence, Terrorism, Beating wifes, hate toward Jews, Christians and Pagans !
therefore, Do not OPEN the Quran !!!! ... don't even bother learning about Islam. I have already summed it up to you !

You know 9-11 ... that's Islam !
Really ?

There was a big Wave of conversion to Islam in the U.S. Following September 11. Why ? ... we would expect Islam to abruptly 'stop', or at least to 'slow down' after such events, and despite the Media propaganda against Islam; trying to prove that Islam=Violence, Hate and Evil ... 34,000 Americans have converted to Islam following the events of September 11, and this is the highest rate reached in the U.S. since Islam arrived there. Why ?
Here is the answer, in One verse:
They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. (Holy Quran)

As someone said: Fighting Islam is like throwing stones at a mountain; it only gets Bigger.

Peace be upon the righteous ,

If there is no connection between Islam and the events of 9-11, you ought not to make that connection. You have an opportunity here and now. Disown the terrorists who commited 9-11. I freely disown all who murder in Jesus name. Do the same and what you say will carry more weight.
Truth is not a democracy, it does not change with what the people believe. If Islam became attractive because of 9-11, then what kind of converts did it gain?
God has a wondrous plan for your life. He has many good things to give you. Most of all, His grace.

Number one There is a HUGE difference between ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY!!! Every one believes no matter which religion you are ,there is always a goodness in a religion however. No religion teaches bad things.

Secondly DOES ISLAM HAS THE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION? Are you sure you'll be going to heaven? Out of all religions there is no assurance of salvation that you will be in heaven after you die except for Christianity!

Another Question? Why are muslims in this websites ? Are you trying to spread the word of Islam over here? Prove to me that If anyone one of us die we can go to heaven?
That is the kind of things that I want to discuss !
Atheism and Theism, Salvation, Original Sin idea, God etc.
and that is Why I am here :) ...

I saw a topic that was dealing with 'Salvation' but did not want to engage in, since people do not agree on Salvation as supposed to be understood in the Christian dogma, I thought that discussing and sharing My understanding of salvation had no place there.

I was actually hoping that you would say that the timing was coincidental, to object to a cause-effect relationship between 9-11 and the "surge" of Muslim believers. I do not think that there was a surge in conversion, just a surge in immigration. Is it not interesting that the countries that fall under the condemnation of Islamic terrorist groups are also the recepients of a flood of Moslems from all over the world.

Totally agree with that! only God and none else
I appreciate the overall criticism of Western society in view of its Christian heritage, but what do you think of the Sharia court cases such as the four that I outlined in my previous posts?

The devil is come to kill, steel and destroy and lie.

The devil is evil

God is good.

By there fruits you will know them.

How many true Christians are there? How many true Muslims are there?
(Bible in basic English)

Galatians 5:19 *Now the works of the flesh are clear, which are these: evil desire, unclean things, wrong use of the senses,
20 *Worship of images, use of strange powers, hates, fighting, desire for what another has, angry feelings, attempts to get the better of others, divisions, false teachings,
21 *Envy, uncontrolled drinking and feasting, and such things: of which I give you word clearly, even as I did in the past, that they who do such things will have no part in the kingdom of God.
22 *But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, a quiet mind, kind acts, well-doing, faith,
23 *Gentle behaviour, control over desires: against such there is no law.
24 *And those who are Christ's have put to death on the cross the flesh with its passions and its evil desires.

I know of a small group that call themselves devout Christians who butchered other Christians in a church recently in cold blood and they did it in the name of faith. Actually this was only one account of many but the rest of the world tends not to find out about these kinds of things.

( I feel bad for some people they are put in impossible situations and the only outcome is for them to do immense evil. they start off wanting to serve God with there whole life and then find themselves serving a church system instead of God and forced to go down a very dark path.)

Whether or not you realize it, you are engaging in fallicious reasoning. I stated the fact that violence is embedded into the teachings of Islam and endorsed by Muhammad and supplied a few key evidences to show that. I can provide an entire scholarly white paper replete with the scholarly evidences directly from the most authentic Islamic sources available if you like. In fact, I will be happy to do that for the forum.

If you had some training in logic and reasoning you would know that in the Law of Noncontradiction: "A:.' cannot equal "A:.' and equal "non-A:.' In other words, nothing can both be and not be at the same time and in the same respect. This means a statement cannot be both true and false at the same time and in the same respect.

Violence is embedded in Isalmic teachings and endorsed by Muhammad. Your statement in no way addresses this fact and constitutes nothing more than the typical Muslim red herring tactic to purposefully veer the discussion away from that truth when it is being discussed.

Your conclusion that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world is spurious and unproven. Several world religions claim to be the fastest growing religion in the world. As Wikipedia states:

"Note that it would be an argumentum ad populum fallacy to claim that being the "fastest growing religion" has any logical consequences about the truth of that religion. Whilst it is possible to find claims that almost any religion is the fastest growing, it is much harder to find ones backed up by scientific data. A selection of the more credible claims are given below, but even these are often contradictory, and most of them only cover a limited period time or a single region of the world."

So you are engaging in yet more fallicious reasoning (e.g. argumentum ad populum).

When do we get to see this straight path of yours???

Islam does not endorse the behaviors of all 'muslim' people. It is not about Islam being Evil ... the thing is that Islam MUST be evil because it is perceived as a threat to Christianity. To me, that is why I say that Islam is evil, but that Moslems are not. Love the people but not the false god.
