Okay so we all have heard it, we all have our opinions of it. But if that's all they are then we have no truth in it. On one side we have the ones who believe he is the antichrist and on the other we have the ones who say he isn't.

So, this discussion is simple, do you think he is or isn't, why or why not and post any kind of proof to go with your opinion.

Only thing that I could say is that the antichrist will be love by his appearance and his smooth talking. Does Obama fit that profile?

Obama is not the antichrist and I think the antichrist's agenda from the start will be more aggressive and different than Obama.

The Bible says the antichrist will come from the people who overthrew Jerusalem which is the Roman Empire,and the 4th beast in Daniel is the Roman Empire,in which the 10 horns come from the 4th beast,which is the Roman Empire,and the little horn,the antichrist will come from the 10 horns,which the Roman Empire's dominion was not put down until Jesus puts them down at Armageddon,which they come together at that time.

The antichrist will have no desire of women,he will recognize the God of forces and not a personal God,he will be in craft or witchcraft and will cause it to spread on the entire planet and be in to nature worship,the Cosmos,and be against every religion on the planet exalting himself above all religions and gods and saying there is no religion but man is top dog with no authority above them.

I do not think Obama qualifies as the antichrist.

I can see why some Christians think Obama is the ant-Christ

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.


President Obama is probably the nicest President I have ever seen, even my wife likes him. He is slow to anger, speaks from the heart, a dynamic personality and yet he speaks blasphemies by encouraging gay marriage. Something the ant-Christ would do.

Is he the antichrist? I don’t know.

Even some Christians like him in spite of his blasphemies.

If the devil comes as an angel of light he would look righteous just and good.

But the righteousness of man is not the righteousness of God.

Believe it or not, Rev 13 is talking about Islam. Don't believe it? Take a nice trip to Saudi Arabia. I might even pay for the ticket. Then pronounce Jesus is the Son of God in their streets. Pass out tracts. See where that takes you and then re-read Rev 13!

What are John's comments concerning the antichrist born from?

The entire idea of the antichrist is born from Jesus' words to his disciples, here: Matthew 24:5 "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."

Until you properly understand what Jesus said there, you will not have the understanding to know who Paul speaks of at 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, or even to understand that he speaks of this as a figure representing the totality of these individuals.

So ask yourselves the question, what does it mean, to, "come in my name"? And search that out in the scriptures to see who all are said to, "Many shall come in my name". That is how we are supposed to let the scriptures define and explain things to us rather than guessing at them from out of our own wisdom.

What do you find about what "Many shall come in my name" means, when you do that?

Matthew 7:22 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?"

You must understand that you have missed the understanding of what Jesus said at Matthew 24:5.

That was Jesus speaking and saying they would come in his name (just like you do), and being as it was Jesus speaking, he said, "saying I am the Christ." People, Our translators have added all of the punctuation. There was no such punctuation in the Greek texts that verse comes from.

They would come claiming to be followers of Christ even as the ones at 2 Corinthians 11:1-4, but they would prove to deny Christ in their mixed works which included the works of iniquity at Matthew 7:23, and denying him by those works of inequity even as at Titus 1:16, thus proving false to the power of God which would come to them through Christ if their claim were really true just as we see at 2 Timothy 3:5.

That is how you let the scriptures speak. Now ponder that and try to get your own wisdom out of the equation.

Notice how what I explained in post #18 shows us how all John tells us about the antichrist harmonizes to his dominate theme, which is, 1 John 2:3 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

The first place I think of in scripture is in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-15 The title in the NKJ version is
The Great Apostasy. "Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom The Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteousness deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by The Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle."

Keep searching and praying and The Lord will reveal the answer to your question in His word. This is just one scripture I was drawn to when I had the same question about Obama that you do. My opinion is I don't know for sure, I do believe we are in the end times and we need to stand fast and stay in prayer and the word of God and we won't be shaken or surprised.
