You are not only contradicting Scripture, but manufacturing your own theology. Obviously quoting an relevant Scriptures won't matter.
How am I contradicting scripture?
I and some others gave "relevant scriptures", you either failed to read or simply ignored them, most likely because, your mind is already fixed.
I'm not one to follow someone or their teachings, just because they have a big church, have theological cemetery degree, or because of how many people believe or follow them.
If I don't see it in scripture, then you are wrong and I am right UNTIL I see differently. I always seek the truth with a pure heart, because I don't like deception or lies, as they are of the devil.
I could say, you don't know the word of God, but without proof to back that statement up, I would be like you, ignorantly making a presumptuous statement.
So if you can, stop raving and join in a civil discourse concerning the subject of the thread.
It is BECAUSE of the scriptures, that causes me to believe what I do, and because of the spirit that led me.
The fact is, I didn't come up with these ideas.
So if I got it wrong, then it would be because of what I heard, saw, and was led to believe.
As for what spirit it was, I couldn't tell you, but regardless of what kind it was, I believe it is of God.
God said, if you ask for the truth, you will get just that.
If you seek the same, you will find it.
But if you have a preconceived idea, thinking you know what it is, when you don't, you will miss it.

No, I'm asking if repenting from one's sins is necessary to receive Christ in their heart.
One would have to come to Christ to receive salvation, but if a person doesn't repent of their sins, will they receive forgiveness of said sins when they ask Christ in their heart?
Do they have to repent of their sins for forgiveness, or is faith in the blood of Christ enough to do the job?
If you mean to "repent from EVERY sin you have committed", obviously no one can because there are so many ways to sin under the Law without even you being aware of.

What you need to to is to believe that Jesus have died and he took your sin nature that you inherited from Adam, and he rose again for your justification.

Is there repentance there? I think there is, you change your mind that you can save yourself by works, and you put your faith in Jesus's finished work instead.

You said repentance is NOT necessary for salvation. The Bible says that repentance is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for salvation. Let's just take a few verses:

THE WORDS OF CHRIST HIMSELF
And [Christ] said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. (Lk 24:46-48)

THE WORDS OF THE APOSTLE PETER
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:37,38)

But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; (Acts 3:18,19)

THE WORDS OF THE APOSTLE PAUL
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (Acts 17:30,31)

And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:20,21)

What you should do now is invest in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and go through every mention of repent and repentance in order to arrive at a proper understanding and what God means by this.

You speak for yourself, not for me.
I am not a sinner. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
You might want to read up on what a sinner is in the new testament and find out what happens to them when they die.
It is written, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he".
If you think and see yourself as a sinner, then if you are not one yet, you will be some day soon.

Rom_3:7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
Jas_5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
1Pe_4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

We can't be both the righteousness of God and a sinner.
The verse you quoted from 2 Corinthians notice that it says the righteousness of God IN him. We are made the righteousness of God IN Christ Jesus. This righteousness is not of ourselves it is of the Lord Jesus. One can be a sinner and at the same time in Jesus Christ, not in oneself, the righteousness of God.

Then the answer is yes.

There must be a reason to come to Christ in the first place.

Christ Himself says for those who are burdened and carrying a heavy load to come to Him and He will give them Rest.

So if you aren't burdened and you aren't carrying a heavy load then there is no reason to come to Christ.

If you don't come to Christ then you don't receive anything.

Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Thank you for using scripture sir.
Would you say the parable that follows was what Jesus was telling them to repent of?

The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree
Luk 13:6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
Luk 13:7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
Luk 13:8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
Luk 13:9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Repent, or turn from your slothful ways of producing no fruit, to produce good fruit. Otherwise you too will be cut down and perish like the tree that produced no fruit.
That is what it looks like Jesus is saying to the people.
To repent of their slothful way of being unproductive or bearing no good, edible, or usable fruit.
How do you see it?

Not when you consider what John said.

1Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is [in us], so are we in this world.

It is true that our righteousness is not our own, and we are indeed in Christ, at least some of the time, but we ARE, in this world, what Jesus is in us.
Is He righteous?
Then we are.
When the light shines, the darkness has to flee.
Show me in scripture, if you would, where it says you, as a born again believer, are a sinner.

So you admit that you sin, is that correct?

You do commit sin?

..
Of course not, I'm perfect in every way.
On the more serious side.
I know I can live my life without sinning, if I chose to walk with God fully.
Scripture wouldn't tell us we could walk without sin, if it weren't possible.
You, on the other hand, should take your eyes off the natural and put them on the promises of God.
The devil always wants us to look at the things happening in the natural world.
He wants us to take our eyes and attention off God and His word/kingdom and put them on the world he is god of.
That is what will keep the child of God defeated.
You can't have faith for the supernatural, if your eyes are always on the natural.

What would happen if I came to Christ but refused to repent of my sins before accepting Christ in my heart by faith?
Would I be born again, or not?
Would I be forgiven of my sins, or not?
That is the question I was trying to ask.

Ok.

So you are just messing around and you accidentally come to Christ and then you tell Him that you refuse to turn away from your sin.

And you are wondering if you receive forgiveness for sin that you don't even care is sin.

You are wondering if you will be born again.

I couldn't imagine such a flippant attitude towards Christ.

I also can't imagine thinking that I could just accept Christ into my heart and by my own imagination and strength He would be there and cause me to be born again and forgiven of all my sins. Even sins I didn't have the decency to ask to be forgiven.

I would say that Jesus is telling them to repent from sin, or else they will burn in hell. I think this applies to everyone born into sin since day one. I think that you are the only one here that doesn't understand.

To comprehend the change effected by the new birth is to understand that repentance is a necessary result. One who is dead in trespass and sin is now made alive unto God in Christ. One becomes a new creature and all things to his perspective become new. Earthly desires yield to a vision of heaven and eternity with Christ.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Repentance is brought about not by the will of man but by the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. If the presence of the Holy Spirit is not in evidence then there is much doubt about the professed conversion.

Might that burden and heavy load be the Law?

Do we repent of works righteousness?

Please just answer the question clearly, instead of avoiding it.

Just answer clearly.

DO YOU EVER COMMIT SIN?

Yes or no.

That's a simple yes/no question... surely you don't want to look deceptive by writing pages and pages to obfuscate a simple question.

Surely you want to be honest with us, and answer a simple yes/no question.

Jesus answers this question in the response to if a brother sins against you what must you do.

3 So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
4 If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and
says, 'I repent,' forgive him."
Luke 17

If a brothers sins but does not repent, they are not forgiven.
One cannot be saved or forgiven unless one repents. It is really this simple.

Perhaps most believe and have argued that repentance of ones' sins is required for salvation, and at least myself, say otherwise.
I don't know if anyone else believes as I do.
I suppose the issue of repentance revolves around the subject of God's forgiveness for the sinner.
I believe repentance is not necessary for salvation but what side of the subject do the scriptures support?
Good day Know1,

Regarding repentance as a requirement, below are some scriptures for you to consider:

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” – Matt.3:1

But when John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his place of baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit worthy of repentance. – Matt.3:7-8

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” – Matt.4:17

After the arrest of John, Jesus went into Galilee and proclaimed the gospel of God. “The time is fulfilled,” He said, “and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel!” – Mark 1:14-15

At that time, some of those present told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. To this He replied, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered this fate? No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem? No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” - Luke 13:1-5

Watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to say, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” – Luke 17:3-4

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. 18But in this way God has fulfilled what He foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ would suffer. Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away, 20that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you. – Acts 3:17-22

But Peter replied, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God. Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. – Acts 8:20-22

Although God overlooked the ignorance of earlier times, He now commands all men everywhere to repent. – Acts 17:30

I did not shrink back from declaring anything that was helpful to you as I taught you publicly and from house to house, testifying to Jews and Greeks alike about repentance to God and faith in our Lord Jesus. – Acts 20:21

So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. 20First to those in Damascus and Jerusalem, then to everyone in the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I declared that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds worthy of their repentance – Acts 26:19-20

Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Although I did regret it, I now see that my letter caused you sorrow, but only for a short time. And now I rejoice, not because you were made sorrowful, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you felt the sorrow that God had intended, and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. – 2 Cor.7:8-10

I am afraid that when I come again, my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of their acts of impurity, sexual immorality, and debauchery. – 2 Cor.12:21

Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. – 2 Pet.3:8-9

You speak for yourself, not for me.
I am not a sinner. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
"If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us." (1 John 1:8)

In the scripture above, John is referring to those who are in Christ, not unbelievers. Though we are in Christ, we are still sinners. But when we received Christ we were credited with righteousness and reconciled to God. God sees us through the spectacles of Christ as righteous, though we ourselves are still sinners. When the gathering occurs and we go from mortal to immortal, then we will be free of the sinful nature.
