Re: Observe and learn...

Bouman,

theologically, can you explain just how man is set free simply by binding Satan as you sescribe it. Nothing in scripture says anything about separating Satan from the people.
I have shown you otherwise.

Ignoring scripture won't make it go away...no matter what your priest says...

Keep running...

I already did. However, you have simply made assertions without explaining just how the binding of Satan is accomplished simply by Christ's death. You apparently cannot show just how it would effect our salvation. It isn't about Greek meaning. It is about scriptural meaning theologically. We have had 2000 years of Greek scholars and not a single one came up with your theory or idea. I'm not sure you can give any credence to your idea outside of your personal interpretation. Hardly scriptural.
You sound like the typical pseudo-theologian trying to develop yet another innovative idea from scripture.

So, I await your theological explanations of your interpretation.

I have shown the Greek and the reasoning behind it, complete with verifiable references.

You have shown..............nothing.

Zero.

Your Greek is not in question. It is your interpretation theologically/scripturally what it means. You cannot even get out of your personal box and explain just how your view aligns with scripture. You make the claim that either the Cross or death binds Satan but cannot show just what that means, or what it accomplishes, or how it effects our salvation.

So far you are the one ignoring scripture. I gave you the understanding that has held unchanged for 2000 years from the beginning. There is ample historical support, yet you cannot show your view to be other than your unique personal interpretation.

Re: Observe and learn...

Because he cannot accept all of the scripture posted by CC members that prove that Satan is not bound until the 1000 year reign of Christ on the throne as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and that he presently is not bound and is influencing and devouring as many as he can....he cannot humble himself and admit that he has been proven wrong....
Well that depends on whether the 'thousand year (long period of time)' reign of Christ is taking place NOW having bound Satan (Matt 12.28-29) or whether, as you erroneously believe, it will occur during a spurious millennium.

The king of the angels and many of the angelic host are certainly bound now for they will be released in Rev 9.1-11. And this is in accordance with JESUS clear teaching that Satan has been bound (Matt 12.28-29) and that powerful evil angels were led in triumph by the risen Christ (Col 1.15). You simply ignore Scriptures that don't agree with you :)

Seems you have a problem following the discussion. I already stated that there have been 2000 years of Greek language use and understanding and none of them have ever come to your conclusion. Your batting thin air.

It s not your Greek, but your understanding of what it means scripturally and theologically. A meaning, as I stated before, has existed the same from the beginning in Greek. That understanding was explained to you. Yet you think that your feeble attempt at being a theologian can change the meaning that the Holy Spirit gave with the Apostles before the NT you have had even been put to ink.

I think there is a certain point indeed that in many ways Satan was bound moreso to his ultimate destiny because of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. After all since Jesus be raised by God back to His right hand, there's no way Satan could even potentially stop Jesus now, but then there never was a chance to begin with for God is mightiest. However by that standard then Satan was bound from Genesis 1 onwards with Jesus being in the beginning with God.

As to the specific binding though into the bottomless pit like Revelation details that has not happened yet. It's rather simple. First said pit has to be opened first. That opening is also mentioned earlier on in Revelation. No where in history or in this current time has that happened, but time still marches forward. It will all happen one day though and those days are not far from us, and even that is not the end, but Jesus does come quickly. Praise Jesus and may those few blessed of that generation endure.

'Stating' something and 'Demonstrating' something are two entirely different things.

For some bizarre reason, you think that you can make an assertion about Greek (of which you know absolutely NOTHING about), and without so much as a link for reference....and expect to somehow have everyone believe you.

Nope.

I have proven my point, that Satan was bound at The Cross, with the Greek, complete with verifiable references.

You have not.

Simple fact.

Now...you have been reduced to ignoring ALL of my posts that directly address the Greek...and you sophomorically claim nothing has even been rebutted.

Deal with it...

Provide one of your Catholic references for your position.

If not...well, you have nothing but your unreferenced opinion......again...

Can you demonstrate this with scripture...?

Can you demonstrate this with scripture...?
Matthew 24:32-34

[SUP]32 [/SUP]Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
[SUP]33 [/SUP]So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Demonstrates that one will know when the end of time approaches by the signs preceding the day. Indeed though it is because Jesus was crucified and resurrected by God and prepares for the day.

For that dragon to be bound for the 1,000 years in the bottomless pit the pit must be opened first. So my question to you is simple. Where in time and place has that pit been opened?

I already did that as well. However, I am not in the least concerned about your Greek translations of the words. They are excellent. However, you have still not shown just how death binds Satan, what the binding means for our salvation.

Again....where does your scriptural example maintain when Satan is to be bound...?

The Abyss was opened when man first sinned.

Jesus must have been stupid to say he is bound and then inspire Peter to write he is walking around seeking whom he may devour....wake up PAL ;)

One salient point at a time.

Scripture shows us that Satan was bound at the Cross.

Show us your viewpoint...that he was bound at the Resurrection.

That one-hit-wonder verse of yours has already been shown to NOT pertain to The Devil.

Why then does it say a star will open the bottomless pit? If that is even a sign before the coming of Jesus and the binding of Satan, therefore then you will know that time comes soon by that time happening. Also that generation will not pass until all comes to pass.

I have already but I'll start over and lead you. Why did Christ come? What is the primary problem of man and this world? answer those and I'll continue to lead you to the meaning of "bound" which by the poll shows that 29 do not know.

The Book of Revelation repeats the same events over and over again, like the cords of a musical symphony, changing tune , with different words describing the same events...
