It's not a contraction. Satan can lead us astray if we let him, but we don't have to follow him.
That is correct, but that is NOT what you stated earlier. You stated he can lead astray but cannot defeat us. The leading astray means he has defeated you.

No, we all go astray sometimes, but the Lord leads us back.

Yeah Ok....keep believing that the context doesn't make it clear....Jesus even said that Satan wished to sift Peter like Wheat and even Jesus was tempted by the devil......there is sufficient evidence and context to prove that the devil is in the world influencing right now and is not and will not be bound until the 1000 year reign.....!
Yes. The devil is the great liar and deceiver, and it is very obvious that many are currently living with him and his ways in the world today. But his reign of ugliness, lies and deception will be soon overthrown, and as the Bible says - he will be bound.
Hallelujah and all praise to God.

Amen and I agree.......He has already lost, but is deceived himself.....One day soon he will be bound and then after a little reprieve will be cast alive into the lake of fire to roast for all eternal ages!

Please produce scripture proof for that.

And I saw a Messenger coming down out of Heaven, having the key of the abyss, and a great chain on his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the old serpent who is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and threw him into the abyss, and shut him up, and sealed over him, that he should not still lead astray the nations, until the thousand years are fulfilled. And after these things, he must be set loose a little time. And I saw thrones, and they sat on them. And judgment was given to them, and the souls of the ones having been beheaded because of the witness of Jesus, and because of the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast nor its image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Rev 20.1 – 4)

By providing four epithets each to that of Jesus and that of Satan, Revelation informs the reader quite plainly that it was Jesus who bound The Devil.

All,

Looking for scriptural positions regarding if Satan is presently bound...
No, the devil is not bound, and if someone believes so, then the devil has manage to make his blind.

This kind of time of temptations has newer been, and it has come in the influence of the Satan.

I believe that this is the most material time, what has ever been, and the lest spiritual.

Human's eye's are not to God today, instead it is in they own intelligent

I guess Jesus was blind then. He made quite clear in Matt 12.28-29 and parallels that He had bound Satan. But those whom Satan's minions have blinded can't see it.

Tell that to Adam LOL

See how Satan's minions have blinded you?

Human's eye's are not to God today, instead it is in they own intelligent
How has that changed? LOL

The holy spirit works to lead you back. It is your decision whether you do or don't come back.
That is just human thinking. It is not the message of Jesus (Luke 15.4). He saw what we did as being as a consequence of God's activity (John 6.37-44).

Yes, the Lord shows me the options. Either I can have peace and tranquility in a life of righteousness, or I can have terror and pain in a life of sin. It's up to me to choose which I prefer.

Luke 15:4 confirms what I stated. God works to bring believers back, but He cannot force you to come back. Coming back is entirely up to each person.

John 6:37-44 is not even addressing believers in particular. It is addressing who was given to Jesus by the Father, which is all things, Col 1:20, and that Christ will lose none given to Him. All mankind have been given life, all men will be raised in the last day, vs 39, however ONLY those that SEE AND BELIEVE will have eternal life WITH HIM.

You are trying to force meanings on texts that are not there. None of these actually addresses your statement.

Scripture has already been provided showing that Satan is presently bound.

Furthermore....Satan was bound when Jesus was crucified.

If you disagree then show scripture for your worldview...

Come on people...

If Satan were still loose, he would have already set forth a nuclear war.

He is still bound.
